  • Patent number: 11509548
Abstract: A method includes establishing communication between a first user device and a second user device using a first codec and filtering an input signal indicating an estimated unfiltered available bandwidth for the communications by applying a current filter including one of a first filter when the estimated unfiltered available bandwidth is less than a first threshold value or greater than a second threshold value or a second filter when the estimated unfiltered available bandwidth is between and including the first and second threshold values. The method includes adaptively switching the current filter as a function of the filtered input signal and the first and second threshold values. When the filtered input signal satisfies a channel bandwidth threshold for at least a predetermined period of time, the method includes switching from using the first codec to using a second codec for the communication between the first and second user devices.

Abstract: Aspects directed towards network-assisted sidelink scheduling are disclosed. In one example, a scheduled entity receives coverage status information of a peer user equipment (UE), and transmits a coverage status report to a network in which the coverage status report is based on the coverage status information received from the peer UE. The scheduled entity receives a resource scheduling from the network in response to transmitting the coverage status report, and establishes a sidelink communication with the peer UE based on the resource scheduling. In another example, a scheduling entity receives a coverage status report from a UE in which the coverage status report is associated with a peer UE of the UE. Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for forward packet recovery in a communication network with constrained network bandwidth overhead. In exemplary embodiments, a target byte protection ratio is determined. Error correcting frames are dynamically generated by a first processor such that error correcting information can be generated to approximate the target byte protection ratio. The data packets and error correcting information are then transmitted across one or more communication networks to a second processor. The second processor can use the error correcting information to regenerate or replace data packets missing or corrupted in transmission across one or more communication networks.

Abstract: A memory slot allocation request specifying a requested number of memory slots is received from a requestor assigned to a particular class among a plurality of classes. It is determined whether allocation of the requested number of memory slots to the requestor results in satisfaction of resource allocation constraints for the plurality of classes. The resource allocation constraints include a first and second threshold for each class that determine how many memory slots can be allocated to each class. Based on determining that allocation of the requested number of memory slots to the requestor results in satisfaction of the resource allocation constraints, the memory slot allocation request is granted. The granting of the memory slot allocation request includes allocating the requested number of memory slots to the requestor.
