  • Patent number: 10110713
Abstract: A method and system for differentiating different Protocol Data Units (PDU) in a D2D communication network. The type of PDU to be differentiated is assigned/associated with a unique data/value and transmitted to the destination, by a transmitting User Equipment. At the receiving end, the receiving User Equipment differentiates between different types of PDU packets received, based on the unique data associated with the collected data. Further, the received PDU data is processed based on a suitable packet processing function that matches the PDU type of the PDU data received.

Abstract: An application management method and a terminal, where the method includes acquiring a list of applications needing to retain background data in a terminal and suspending a first timer corresponding to a first application running in the terminal when the first application running in the terminal is not in the list of the applications needing to retain the background data. Further, timers of applications that do not need to retain background data in the terminal can be suspended. Because the timers stop to be run temporarily, the timers do not wake up the terminal from a dormant state, and correspondingly, the applications do not need to interact with a server end to update the background data, thereby reducing the number of times of waking up the terminal from a dormant state, saving electricity consumption and data traffic of the terminal.

Abstract: The present technology pertains to unilaterally interleaving individual data packets of long bursts of multi-packet messages in various sequence patterns to be sent to one or more receivers over a network. Before determining a pattern, the sending device attempts to reduce the transmission length of the long bursts of the data packets into multiple chunks. Subsequently, the sending device generates a sequence pattern of the individual data packets and consecutively transmits these packets to their respective receivers. The determined sequence pattern may be based upon outbound limits at the sender, inbound limits at the one or more receivers, and various transmission priorities. Moreover, the sender may limit the data flow of any message transmission. The present technology does not require feedback from the network's components or from the network itself to micro flow control the individual data packets.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for transmitting a frame in a wireless LAN. The method for transmitting a frame in a wireless LAN may comprise: a step in which an AP transmits an RTS frame for protecting a medium to an STA; a step in which the AP receives a CTS frame from the STA in response to the RTS frame; and a step in which the AP transmits a data frame to the STA in response to the CTS frame, wherein the RTS frame is included in a first PPDU which is generated on the basis of a first IFFT size, the data frame is included in a second PPDU which is generated on the basis of a second IFFT size, the second IFFT size is greater than the first IFFT size, and the data frame can be transmitted on the basis of a transmission-range-determining parameter which is determined on the basis of the difference between the second IFFT size and the first IFFT size.

  • Patent number: 9918222
Abstract: A technique for protecting location information of a subscriber in a mobile network is disclosed. A User Mobility Server (UMS) receives a first query from a first call state control function (CSCF). The UMS transmits a call setup and a subscriber identity to a servicing-call state control function (S-CSCF). The S-CSCF may have no record of the subscriber identity due to a restart are some other event. The UMS receives a second query from the S-CSCF based in part of the subscriber identity. The UMS transmits a home address of a mobile station to the S-CSCF. The UMS may also transmit a profile download to the S-CSCF.

  • Patent number: 9907022
Abstract: A method to track a movable asset which uses a device attachable to the movable asset, whereby the device includes a transceiver adapted to communicate over a wireless wide area network. The device operates from battery power stored in a battery attachable within the device. The device is configured to conserve the battery power and a datum which pertains to the asset is logged. While the transceiver is powered off, an ambient radio frequency signal of the wireless wide area network is monitored. Upon the ambient radio frequency signal being detected above a threshold, the transceiver associated with the available mobile network channel is powered up.

  • Patent number: 9883439
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of mobile communications technologies, and in particular, to an offloading method and an apparatus. In this solution, when a terminal is in a handover process, a destination cellular network node sends, to the terminal, configuration information of a WLAN AP managed by the destination cellular network node; and then the terminal selects a destination WLAN AP from WLAN APs managed by the destination cellular network node, and offloads data of the destination cellular network node to the destination WLAN AP. Therefore, the destination WLAN AP selected by the destination cellular network node can be received before a handover is completed, thereby ensuring service continuity and improving service quality of a terminal.

  • Patent number: 9877338
Abstract: A method, wireless system, and medium are provided for estimating capacity for a new communication session initiated by a wireless device. The wireless system includes a base station and wireless devices that wirelessly connect to the base station. The base station executes a wireless scheduler that coordinates wireless transmission over wireless networks. The base station also executes a bandwidth estimation component to estimate available bandwidth for a new communication session. The estimated available bandwidth is used in a quick configuration message communicated from the base station to a wireless device to notify the wireless device of the capacity available at the base station and of a transmission rate for the wireless device.

  • Patent number: 9876717
Abstract: Computerized methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for distributing virtualized gateway functionality to multiple nodes within a physical network. Initially, drivers that carry out the gateway functionality are provisioned to cooperate with endpoints instantiated on the network nodes, while a directory service is implemented to maintain a mapping between virtual internet protocol (IP) addresses and location-dependent addresses, as well as a table enumerating transformation actions according to known pathways connecting the endpoints within a network. In operation, the directory service replies to requests from the driver (carrying source and destination IP addresses of data packets) with the appropriate location-dependent addresses (utilizing the mapping) and the appropriate transformation action(s) (utilizing the table).

Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for facilitating an efficient connection setup. The present invention specifies rules for defining the signaling of connection setup messages from user equipments such as to apply one single transmission if an assigned uplink transmission grant for transmitting the connection setup messages is sufficiently large while applying separate transmissions if the size indicated in said uplink transmission grant is not sufficient. Thus, a sufficiently large grant allows a parallel execution of the connection setup messages.
