  • Patent number: 10548108
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and a method for providing mobility management and out-of-coverage indication in a conventional Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system. A radio provides its location and user group data to the disclosed system through its traffic channel when the channel is idle. Knowledge of the radio's current location and user group data is used to provide dynamic call routing and data management within the disclosed system. The disclosed system and method may provide operability similar to that of a trunking system by providing mobility management and out-of-coverage indication while providing low-cost benefits through operation of a conventional system.

Abstract: Example methods, apparatuses, and systems for transmitting data in a wireless local area network mesh network are described herein. One example method includes receiving, by a first mesh station, a first data frame sent by a second mesh station, where a transmitter address of the first data frame is a MAC address of the second mesh station, and wherein the first and second mesh stations belong to different mesh gates. The first mesh station determines that the first data frame is one of a broadcast data frame, a multicast data frame, or an unknown unicast data frame and, further, that the first mesh station and the second mesh station belong to different mesh gates. In response to these determinations, the first data frame is discarded. The examples methods can be applied to a wireless mesh network including multiple mesh gates.

The method comprises: transmitting, by the secondary BS, one or more Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Protocol Data Units (PDUs) from the master BS to a User Equipment (UE); and transmitting, by the secondary BS, to the master BS a downlink data transmission state message including a sequence number of at least one PDCP PDU that has been transmitted successfully. The present disclosure also provides a method in a master BS for discarding PDCP PDUs as early as possible. The method comprises: receiving, by the master BS, from a secondary BS a downlink data transmission state message; and discarding, by the master BS, one or more PDCP PDUs stored in the master BS based on the downlink data transmission state message. Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configured to receive at least one serving grant and at least one non-scheduled grant. The at least one serving grant is a grant for scheduled data transmission. The at least one non-scheduled grant is a grant for non-scheduled data transmission. Abstract: A computer receives contact information associated with one or more users and stores said contact information in a database. The computer detects a conference call and determines which users are present at the conference call. The computer determines whether the users already share contact information with one another and, if not, the computer determines whether contact information of a user should be distributed based on recorded usage patterns. Based on determining that contact information of the user should not be distributed based on usage patterns, the computer is further capable of determining whether the user wishes to share contact information with other participating users via user input. Based on determining that the first user would like to share their contact information with other participating users, the computer provides the other participating users access to the contact information of the first user and records usage patterns detailing the conference call.

Abstract: A method and a system for communicating a high priority message in a vehicular ad hoc network is provided. In the communication channel, time slots are defined, and N successive time slots constitute one cycle, where m th time slot of each cycle is reserved for transmitting a pre-emption message. The method may include: selecting a sub-frame, transmitted in a first q th time slot, having a priority lower than that of the high priority message; transmitting in a first m th time slot after the first q th time slot a pre-emption message indicating that a second q th time slot, which is after the first m th time slot, will be occupied to transmit the high priority message; and transmitting in the second q th time slot the high priority message. By using the method and system, messages with higher priority can be transmitted timely even under very congested conditions.

Abstract: A method performed by a transmitting node for handling a channel access for transmitting data to a receiving node is provided. The transmitting node and the receiving node operate in a wireless communications network. The transmitting node obtains a defer list. The defer list comprises nodes causing Signal to Interference Ratio, SIR, below a threshold at the receiver node. The defer list is based on a first defer list received from and created by the receiving node. The transmitting node senses a wireless channel in the wireless communications network. When the transmitting node intends to transmit data to the receiving node, the transmitting node defers channel access to the sensed wireless channel for the data transmission when one or more conditions are fulfilled. The one or more conditions comprise at least that one or more nodes are sensed as communicating and are on the defer list.

  • Patent number: 10291785
Abstract: A source node may send a first data unit to a destination node. To send the first data unit, the source node may transmit a modulation pattern over a transmission medium. In some cases, particular data units may correspond to modulation patterns with features that cause errors in transmission. The source node may receive an indication of an error from the destination node. To avoid repeated errors the retransmission, coding circuitry at the source node may alter data within the first data unit to generate a retransmission data unit. The alteration may result in the retransmission data unit corresponding to a modulation pattern different from that of the first data unit. The new modulation pattern may lack the error causing features and reduce the chance of repeated errors.

  • Patent number: 10292104
Abstract: A wireless receiver has a preamble detection apparatus and method which waits until the expected arrival of a beacon frame, after which power is cyclically applied during a preamble detection interval and a sleep interval until a preamble is detected. The preamble detector has a first mode with a longer preamble detection interval and a second mode with a shorter preamble detection interval. During the preamble detection interval, power is applied to receiver components, and during the sleep interval, power is not applied. The duration of the preamble detection interval is equal to a preamble sensing interval, and if a preamble is detected, power remains applied to a preamble processor for a preamble processing interval. The duration of the sleep interval is the duration of a long preamble less the sum of two times the preamble detection interval plus the preamble processing interval. Phase lock loop (PLL) power is applied a PLL settling time prior to and during the preamble detection interval.
