Connection Set-up/disconnect (e.g., Connection Admission Control) Patents (Class 370/395.2)
  • Patent number: 12232190
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for enhancing area coverage and data rates in a quasi-licensed wireless communication network. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus utilize so-called “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with a cellular wireless communication network (e.g. 4G, 5G, or LTE) for the delivery of services to a number of installed fixed wireless apparatus (CPE/FWA) at user or subscriber premises. The CPE/FWAs may act as relays or supplementation devices to provide requisite data rates to the CPEs that are out of the network coverage, effectively adding new customers to the network. As such, the CPEs that acts as relays are connected to one or more base stations, dynamically allocate some resources to the out of coverage CPEs, for the delivery/receipt of information to/from the out-of-coverage CPES/FWA.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first user equipment (UE) may communicate one or more messages associated with establishing a sidelink communication connection with a set of UEs, including a second UE. The first UE may transmit a message indicating that the first UE has a data transmission to send. The second UE may receive the message and transmit an indication that a first set of resources is allocated to the first UE for the data transmission. In some examples, the second UE may broadcast the indication that the first set of resources is allocated to the first UE. The first UE may transmit the data transmission over the resources based on receiving the indication that the first set of resources is allocated to the first UE. In some examples, the first UE may perform a listen before talk procedure prior to transmitting the data transmission.

Abstract: A ringing suppression circuit applicable to a transmitter module in a controller area network is provided, which includes a CANH driver circuit, a CANL driver circuit, a first operable circuit transmitting a CAN high signal, a second operable circuit transmitting a CAN low signal, and a termination component connected between the first operable circuit and the second operable circuit. By sequentially turning on a first, second, and third transistor of the CANH driver circuit and sequentially turning on a fourth, fifth, and sixth transistor of the CANL driver circuit, conventional ringing phenomenon is effectively suppressed. A plurality of transistors may also be configured for implementing the CANH driver circuit or the CANL driver circuit for further reducing a glitch. The transmitter module employing the proposed ringing suppression circuit is able to pull the bus to a recessive state and meanwhile suppress the ringing and improve the maximum data rate.

  • Patent number: 12184621
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for execution by a computing device. The method involves establishing a communication channel for communicating with a client device using link-layer encryption, and attempting to authenticate the client device using authentication-layer encryption on top of the link-layer encryption. The method also involves receiving a command from the client device over the communication channel, and if the client device has been authenticated, executing the command. Notably, the link-layer encryption offers some degree of security because network traffic over the communication channel is encrypted, but does not offer adequate protection from all cyber attacks. However, the authentication-layer encryption adds an additional layer of security on top of the link-layer encryption, which can help to avoid or mitigate cyber attacks.

Abstract: A method system for use of Doppler shift as a basis to detect user focus, such as to detect that a user was attracted to audio media and/or to an associated object. A portable processing device carried by the user receives audio media emitted from an audio source at a fixed location, the audio media having periodic watermarking encoded at a baseline frequency. The portable processing device detects a change in frequency of the periodic watermarking over time, such as the frequency progressing from at least being higher than the baseline frequency to being the baseline frequency for at least a predefined threshold period of time. Abstract: Implementing network constraint exceptions on a per device basis is disclosed. A network manager determines that a subscriber device associated with a subscriber network is to be granted an exception to a network constraint of the subscriber network. An aggregation device that is coupled to a set of subscriber networks including the subscriber network is sent aggregation device instructions to grant the exception to packets associated with the subscriber device that flow through the aggregation device. A network gateway device that serves as a network gateway for the subscriber network is sent gateway device instructions to associate packets associated with the subscriber device with information for identifying the packets as being associated with the subscriber device.

  • Patent number: 11695428
Abstract: A network element is configured to efficiently load balance packets through a computer network. The network element receives a packet associated with flow attributes and generates a Load Balancing Flow Vector (LBFV) from the flow attributes. The network element partitions the LBFV into a plurality of LBFV blocks and reorders the LBFV blocks to generate a reordered LBFV. The LBFV blocks are reordered based on a reordering sequence that is different from reordering sequences on other network elements in the computer network. The network element hashes the reordered LBFV to generate a hash key for the packet and selects a next hop link based on the hash key. The next hop link connects the network elements to a next hop network element in the computer network.

  • Patent number: 11677818
Abstract: A method for load balancing application requests across a multi-cluster container orchestration system includes receiving a load-balancing configuration for a multi-cluster service managing access to a set of destination clusters hosting a software application deployed by a user. The multi-cluster service uses the load-balancing configuration to load balance application level traffic across the set of destination clusters. Each destination cluster includes at least one container executing the software application and a respective geographical region. The method also includes receiving an application level request directed toward the software application hosted across the destination clusters. The application level request is received from a client and includes a host name and a geographical location associated with the client. The method also includes routing the request to one of the clusters based on the geographical location of the request and the respective geographical locations of the clusters.

  • Patent number: 11678191
Abstract: Packet protection is described. Data of a group of packets is concatenated with a security key and a sequence number of the packet. A hash mark of the concatenated data is calculated and sent with data or control information in a packet. If each packet has reserved bits, at least some of the packets each has data, a least a portion of the hash mark, and a header having: a first bit that indicates if the hash mark is present, and a second bit that indicates if the packet is used to determine the hash mark. Otherwise, a separate control packet is sent that contains the hash mark, a first sequence number of the group of packets, and a PDU type indicating that the control packet is an integrity protection packet for the group of PDCP packets.
