Abstract: Private video streams are provided to emergency services agents' devices by authenticating UDP packets at an access control server and initiating an Application Programming Interface at a video server. The access control server conditionally responds to a UDP query from a mobile device with an answer containing an address of an API. Settings provided by a facility/video stream owner validate the query, and synthesize a one-time IPv6 address. A virtual machine image of an API couples cameras to mobile devices. Video images are transformed into a pastiche with 2D facility maps or 3D models. The device transforms an optical image e.g. a QRcode into a packet for transmission as a query. The packet contains authentication credentials and identity indicia of sender and desired video image access. The device receives a reply containing the address of the API and displays resulting video.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for adaptive resource management in new radio operations that favors the usage of resources for pilot signals and channel estimation in the transition slots of a slot burst, and the transmission of data in the subsequent slots of the slot burst. A device such as a user equipment (UE) and/or a base station may determine that the UE is operating in a transition state. The device may adapt a first numerology including a first number of symbols per slot used for transmission in the transition slots during the transition state, to a second scaled numerology including a second number of symbols per slot used for transmission in the subsequent slots after the transition state. A ratio of reference signal symbols to data symbol symbols may be greater in the transition slots than in the subsequent slots.

Abstract: Methods and systems for a networked storage system are provided. One method includes determining by a processor, a demand pattern for a first workload that is assigned a service level objective (SLO) for using a resource of a networked storage system. The SLO is defined by an allotted performance parameter, and the demand pattern identifies a first duration when a SLO allotment for the first workload is underutilized, and a second duration when the SLO allotment is being utilized. The SLO allotment is dynamically adjusted for the first duration by modifying a parameter associated with the performance parameter, while maintaining the SLO allotment for the second duration. This makes additional performance capacity of the resource available for re-allocation. The additional available performance capacity is dynamically allocated for an identified second workload that needs an increase in SLO allotment for a certain duration and/or for provisioning a new workload.

  • Patent number: 10659359
Abstract: A network device checks forwarding tables of routers in a network by sending check packets designed to reach a target router via label-forwarding. The network device determines a forwarding path from itself to a destination IP address, with the target router on the forwarding path and at N hops from itself. The network device then generates and sends a check packet having a label stack with N link labels correspond to the hops and a TTL value set to N+1. When the check packet is routed by the target router to a next-hop node of the target router, the TTL value is deducted to 0, causing the next-hop node to send a notification message to the network device. Based on the identity of the next hop node, the network device determines whether the forwarding table of the target router is correct.

Abstract: Systems, devices and methods are provided for incorporating a quality of experience (QoE) assessment into requests or negotiations for a particular quality of service (QoS) for an application in a communications network. A network may provide service in accordance with a particular set of QoS parameters in order to meet a user's requested QoE. A user may select a particular QoE for an application depending on costs associated with the corresponding sets of QoS parameters available from the network. Functionality to determine the correlation between a user's QoE and sets of QoS parameters may be implemented primarily in a user's electronic communications device, primarily in a network device, or in both of these devices. A separate device may be used for determining the QoE and corresponding sets of QoS parameters for various services or applications.

The DoS detection and circumvention system can track phone calls that are initiated and store a list of phone numbers that are called. The DoS detection and circumvention system can also track the number of carrier congestion messages over a certain time window. Using the list of called phone numbers and the tracked number of carrier congestion messages, the DoS detection and circumvention system can identify excessive congestion. If the DoS detection and circumvention system identifies excessive congestion, the DoS detection and circumvention system can delay calls so as to prevent a possible DoS condition.

Abstract: A node of a multiple radio access technology (multi-RAT) system acquires resource status information associated with each RAT of the multi-RAT system. The resource status information of the RATs of the multi-RAT system can be acquired by sniffing higher layer protocol information pertaining to call setup requests and/or call terminated messages. The node further maintains a flag representing overall resource availability associated with the RATs of the multi-RAT system, based on the acquired resource status information, for use in admission control and/or load balancing. The flag is associated with a pre-defined set of overall resource availability states of the multi-RAT system, where the availability states are defined in terms of admission control decisions.
