  • Patent number: 11893406
Abstract: A virtual computer system includes virtualization software, and one or more physical network interfaces for connecting to one or more computer networks. The virtualization software supports one or more virtual machines (VMs), and exports one or more virtual network interfaces to the VM(s) to enable the VM(s) to access the computer network(s) through the physical network interface(s). The virtualization software modifies and filters network data frames from the VM(s) and from the physical network interface(s) to restrict one or more VMs to one or more virtual local area networks (VLANs) that are implemented within a VLAN topology. Restricting a VM to a VLAN limits the broadcast domain to which the VM belongs, which may reduce security risks facing the VM. Implementing the VLAN functionality within the virtualization software provides the functionality to every VM in the computer system, without requiring every VM to provide the functionality.

Abstract: Systems and methods implement multi-channel communication by remapping Ethernet frames. An Ethernet frame is captured leaving a first bridge of an Ethernet switch. A destination address of the Ethernet frame is matched to a remap rule and to a filter defined for the remap rule. The destination address of the Ethernet frame is updated based upon the remap rule, and the Ethernet frame is output to an Ethernet port corresponding to the updated destination address of the Ethernet frame. The remap rule and the filter allow the Ethernet switch to route traffic at an OSI model layer-4 level.

Abstract: A Method and apparatus for resilient Decoy Routing without conspiring Autonomous Systems by instead using a DHT routing table is described. In one embodiment of the present invention, there would exist a set of Decoy Routing Nodes which would be connected via a DHT's routing table. This would enable decoy routing nodes to not depend on a predefined list. Traditionally, Decoy Routing depends upon either a pre-configured list of computer systems to connect to or is wholly dependent upon BGP to happen to route to friendly Autonomous Systems that understand the true intent of the packet being routed. This method and apparatus solves these problems by providing a means to use a dynamic routing table, provided by a DHT to ensure that a packet can be delivered to computer systems that understand how to do decoy routing. This approach further ensures that the routing table being used is one that is kept up to date automatically as a function of the DHT providing the routing table.

Abstract: A method for discarding at least one packet by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method includes steps of storing the at least one packet received from an upper layer in a buffer; determining whether or not a number of packets in the buffer is equal to or greater than a threshold value; and discarding the at least one packet from the buffer when the number of packets in the buffer is equal to or greater than the threshold value.

Abstract: A communication relay device receives a packet transmitted from a first communication device to a second communication device and forwards the packet to a correspondent communication relay device. The communication relay device includes: a processor and a communication processor. The processor extracts, from a request packet that requests a connection to the second communication device, a first identifier for indicating the first communication device, when the communication relay device receives the request packet from the first communication device, and generates configuration information including the first identifier.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for latency-oriented router. An incoming packet is received on a first interface. The type of the incoming packet is determined. Upon the detection that the incoming packet belongs to latency-critical traffic, the incoming packet is duplicated into one or more copies. Subsequently, the duplicated copies are sent to a second interface in a delayed fashion where the duplicated copies are spread over a time period. The duplicated copies are received and processed at the second interface.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in content generating, searching, hosting and/or providing systems supported by or configured with personal computing devices, servers and/or platforms. The systems interact to identify and retrieve data within or across platforms, which can be used to improve the quality of data used in processing interactions between or among processors in such systems. The disclosed systems and methods provide systems and methods for automatic peer-to-peer level of activity information maintenance and sharing without centralization. The disclosed systems and methods a peer-to-peer level of activity sharing mechanism involving sharing level of activity counter update instructions for use in updating a number of level of activity counters maintained locally by a peer receiving the instruction(s). A peer can use its local level of activity counters in determining whether impose a throttling mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10771400
Abstract: A relay device in a communication network includes: a configuration determination unit determining whether a configuration frame is received; a comparison unit; first and second configuration units; and a configuration transfer unit. The comparison unit determines whether the propagation number at reception time is equal to the total number of target devices in a configuration frame. When the propagation number is not equal to the total number, the first configuration unit sets a port in the transfer destination information to the mirror output port. When the propagation number is not equal to the total number, the configuration transfer unit outputs the updated configuration frame from the mirror input port. When the propagation number is equal to the total number, the second configuration unit sets a port in the transfer destination information to the mirror output port.

  • Patent number: 10718207
Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and systems are described herein for transmission of measurement while drilling (MWD) data from a MWD tool to a receiver. Such apparatuses, methods, and systems may modify MWD data to allow for transmission of the modified MWD data in a manner that conserves electrical power of the MWD tool. For example, the MWD data can be modified to allow for effectively slower transmission of the data while adhering to existing transmission settings. Such a technique allows for MWD data to be conveyed in an electrically efficient manner, reducing maintenance and recharging requirements of the MWD tool.

  • Patent number: 10705818
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for a self-moving operating system installation in cloud-based network. A guest operating system can be instantiated in a cloud-based host environment to support a set of virtual machines. The operating system can be configured with resources in the kernel to detect and manage the identity of the cloud in which the operating system is installed, as well as to interrogate potentially new target host clouds to determine the configuration settings required to move or copy the guest operating system to that target. The resulting mobility of the guest operating system affords the ability to be self-moving, and an administrator or other user can simply specify a desired target cloud to host the operating system without a need to manually configure APIs or other resources.

  • Patent number: RE48754
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for operating a communication system comprising three or more communication transceivers. In illustrative embodiments, multiple unique start-of-packet delimiters are maintained. A data packet to be transmitted is constructed using a specified one of the plurality of start-of-packet delimiters to demarcate the start of said data packet. The chosen start-of-packet delimiter reflects one or more transceivers that are intended recipients of said data packet. When a data packet is received by a transceiver, the start-of-packet delimiter of the received data packet is compared to one or more valid start-of-packet delimiters for the receiving transceiver. If the start-of-packet delimiter of the received data packet matches a valid start-of-packet delimiter for the receiving transceiver, the data packet is accepted, otherwise it is rejected.
