  • Patent number: 10389645
Abstract: A communications network delay variation smoothing method, an apparatus, and a system are disclosed. The method includes: clearing, by a local device, a forward delay threshold and a reverse delay threshold when an initialization time starts; and when determining that a maximum value between a real-time forward delay value corresponding to a current service flow fragment and a reverse delay threshold corresponding to the current service flow fragment is greater than a current value of the forward delay threshold, replacing the current value of the forward delay threshold with the maximum value. In this way, after the initialization ends, a delay threshold after the initialization ends is determined and is applied to delay compensation, thereby significantly reducing a bi-directional asymmetric delay variation, and avoiding a problem of abnormal user communication that is caused when the variation exceeds a limit.

  • Patent number: 10379742
Abstract: A storage system writes an object across zones of a set of zones (“zone set”). Each zone of a zone set is contributed from an independently accessible storage medium. To create a zone set, the storage system arbitrarily selects disks to contribute a zone for membership in the zone set. This results in a fairly even distribution of zone sets throughout the storage system, which increases fault tolerance of the storage system. Although disk selection for zone set membership is arbitrary, the arbitrary selection can be from a pool of disks that satisfy one or more criteria (e.g., health or activity based criteria). In addition, weights can be assigned to disks to influence the arbitrary selection. Although manipulating the arbitrary selection with weights or by reducing the pool of disks reduces the arbitrariness, this evenly distributes zone sets while accounting for client demand and/or disk health.

Abstract: A method for commissioning a wireless lighting control system for network connectivity does not require special device network configuration steps during manufacturing. Network configuration happens dynamically and automatically during commissioning of a lighting control group. The method includes receiving at a mobile device an advertisement packet from each of a plurality of lighting control devices via a commissioning network. A commissioning network connection is established with each of the lighting control devices and the mobile device. A lighting control group network table listing an entry for each of the lighting control devices is built to establish the lighting control group that communicates over a lighting control network. The lighting control group network table is sent to a last lighting control device configured by the mobile device via the commissioning network. Receipt of the lighting control group network table readies the device to receive lighting control event messages for the group.

Abstract: Multiple wireless devices in a network perform full duplex communication in which the transmission path and receiving path are spatially separated to allow simultaneous transmission and receiving. The wireless devices can either be controlled using a centralized, or point, coordination function or a distributed coordination function. A full-duplex wireless device senses the medium during transmission by itself and selectively continues the transmission when a signal is sensed on the medium. A full-duplex wireless device measures signal being transmitted by its transmitter and estimates parameters that can be used to cancel the contribution of the locally transmitted signal to the locally received signal concurrently being received during the transmission. • Patent number: 10165597
Abstract: In wireless communication networks with distributed medium access control, maximal network throughput is achieved as a compromise between medium contention duration and collision rate. Maximal throughput in self-adapting medium access protocol is achieved by stations maintaining backoff counter BC and freezing counter FC, which define the state in two-dimensional state space. Countdown process is comprised of decrementing BC in idle timeslots, and incrementing FC in busy timeslots. Countdown ends if the value of BC reaches zero, when the station starts to transmit data, or when FC is incremented to be greater than freezing limit FL. In both cases, the station has to randomly select new backoff counter, reset its freezing counter, and continue to count down with these new values of BC and FC.

Abstract: A method is implemented by a subscriber unit in a wireless communication for establishing a network session. The subscriber unit encodes an acknowledgment message for transmission on a shared reverse link channel to a base station. Acknowledgment information associated with a received session tag at the subscriber unit to the base station is transmitted over the shared reverse link channel, on a condition that the session tag is received from a network server via the base station on a forward link channel and identified by the subscriber unit. The acknowledgment is transmitted on a reverse traffic channel on a condition that the session ID tag is not identified by the subscriber unit.

  • Patent number: 10149326
Abstract: This invention proposes efficient data transmission methods in the mobile cellular network. A specific resource pool is divided into several resource groups to indicate the size level of the data available for transmission. The base station allocates a proper UL grant to the terminal. Based on the allocated UL grant, the terminal compares the granted Transport Block (TB) size with the size of data available for transmission. If the UL grant is large enough, the terminal transmits the data available for transmission in the allocated UL resource, otherwise, re-attempts the random access procedure. In another example, the terminal transmits a BSR message and as much of the data as is available for transmission. The base station may grant additional UL resources if there is remaining data to be transmitted. A timer is used for the terminal to decide whether waiting for the additional UL grant from the base station.

A device is disclosed that may determine a first length of time corresponding to a first spatial reuse transmit opportunity (SR-TxOP) time period. The device may determine a second length of time corresponding to a transmit opportunity (TxOP) time period that starts when a request to send (RTS) frame is transmitted and ends after the first length of time ends. Abstract: A method of channel access for a radio device in an asynchronous channel hopping wireless network. A backoff time is set from an Interference Avoidance Delay plus a random backoff time for transmissions from the radio device. For initial frame transmissions, an initial value for a number of backoffs (nb) and initial number of preamble detection backoffs (npdb) is set. After waiting for expiring of the initial backoff time and provided a current npdb_value <a predetermined maximum npdb value, a first CCA is performed on the radio device's receive (Rx) channel, and a value for npdb is incremented following a failure. A second CCA is performed on a target radio device's Rx channel, wherein a value for nb is incremented following a failure. Provided a not busy is determined in the second CCA the radio device transmits a frame on the target radio device's Rx channel.
