Abstract: Provided is a base station capable of performing cell search of all mobile stations having different communicable frequency band widths in a scalable band width communication system to which a multi-carrier communication method such as the OFDM method is applied. The base station includes: a modulation unit (102) for modulating SCH data after being encoded; a sub carrier setting unit (105) for setting one of the sub carriers to a sub carrier (SCH sub carrier) constituting the OFDM symbol for SCH data transmission; and an IFFT unit (106) for mapping the SCH data to the sub carrier set by the sub carrier setting unit (105) among the sub carriers and performing IFFT to generate an OFDM symbol. The sub carrier setting unit (105) sets one of the sub carriers which has a frequency of a common multiple between the sub carrier interval and the cell search interval as an SCH sub carrier.

  • Patent number: 8116354
Abstract: A sync detection device and method for a GNSS receiver. In modernized GNSS, each satellite transmits a data signal and a pilot signal. Correlations are performed between a data symbol stream converted from the data signal with possible hypotheses to find a leading edge of a frame of the data signal (i.e. frame sync detection) and between a pilot symbol stream converted from the pilot signal with possible hypotheses to find a leading edge of a code sequence of the pilot signal (i.e. pilot sync detection). The possible hypotheses for the frame sync detection are selected according to a result of pilot sync detection when pilot sync is done. Frame sync can be efficiently achieved since a range of the selected possible hypotheses is quite limited.

  • Patent number: 8090066
Abstract: A method and a circuit for obtaining asynchronous demapping clock. The method includes: obtaining a smoothed clock with even gaps in accordance with data to be demapped and a corresponding clock signal; performing phase locking in accordance with a signal reflecting writing and reading conditions of data of a First In First Out (FIFO), to obtain a clock signal required for demapping. The method can effectively filter off jittering created during asynchronous mapping/demapping processes and may ensure a high-performance clock output. Furthermore, the method is applicable to not only mapping from OTN to SDH but also other asynchronous demapping processes, e.g., mapping from SDH to OTN, and thereby effectively improving the performance of data demapping.

  • Patent number: 8086228
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying a code group representative of a predetermined number of base stations is disclosed. A chip offset within a frame is input into a first correlator. A plurality of samples of chips at which a primary synchronization code (PSC) has been detected are input into the first correlator. Output of the first correlator is multiplied by the complex conjugate of the PSC to obtain a magnitude for the signals being transmitted at the chips inputted into the first correlator. The magnitude is summed over four frames. The summed signals view of a predetermined set of decision variables is evaluated. A case number, a code group, a timeslot location, and a system frame number are determined based on the evaluation and noise estimation.

Each of a plurality of serial lane transceivers associated with an individual bit lane receives a first data frame, comprising a training sequence header pattern. Based on each of the first data frames, the plurality of serial lane transceivers de-skew a plurality of data frames and generate a plurality of event signals. Using the plurality of event signals, a core clock, having a first phase, is adjusted to be phase aligned with the slowest bit lane.
