Abstract: Provided is a film-forming method based on an LB method by which a uniform alignment film using a helical polyacetylene can be obtained. Abstract: A foam play article comprises: an elastic tube for forming an elastic rubber layer; a foam formed by foaming polyurethane materials (2) in the elastic tube (1); and a coating layer (7) coated on the elastic rubber layer. The article may be manufactured by a method which comprises: providing polyurethane foam materials; attaching a material injector (5) to an elastic tube (1); injecting a predetermined amount of the polyurethane foam materials to the elastic tube (1) through the material injector (5); placing the elastic tube (5) in a mold (6) to provide a foam therein; applying a coating layer onto an outer surface of the foam; and drying the coated foam. Abstract: A method of forming a water vapor barrier layer to a core of a golf ball is provided. The method includes placing the core of the golf ball into a vapor barrier composition, withdrawing the lifting device, and spinning and optionally oscillating the core within the composition for a time sufficient for the composition to form a layer on the core. The present invention also provides an apparatus that can be used to form a water vapor barrier layer.

Abstract: A non-metallic medical device treated with a antimicrobial agents is provided. Different combinations of antimicrobial agents can be used for different types of non-metallic medical devices depending on the types of infections related to each device. The combination of different antimicrobial substances has a synergistic effect against certain bacteria and fungi. An antimicrobial agent can be used to treat a non-metallic medical device by mixing the antimicrobial agent with an acid solution and glycerol and exposing the non-metallic medical device to the resulting mixture such that an enough of the antimicrobial agent binds to a portion of the non-metallic medical device to inhibit the growth of bacterial and fungal organisms.

Abstract: A copolymer Tradenamed HexiLok is applied in the form of an ink as a decorative and protective outer covering to glassware and other tableware. It serves also as an adhesion coating to which a cross-linked ethylene acrylic acid copolymer is applied, to serve as a shock absorber and shard retention agent, in the event of breakage of the wares. The impact resistance of drinking glasses can be improved ten-fold with a 5 mil outer coating. The use of UV light as a curing agent in a 2-stage curing process, enables high production rates. The tough HexiLok ink serves to hermetically seal the decorated surface of the wares, enabling the use of non-FDA approved decorating agents.
Abstract: Mold- and moisture-resistant gypsum boards and methods for making them are disclosed, the method comprising applying a slurry that forms a gypsum core to an upper or a lower facing sheet impregnated with a thermoset resin (e.g., a phenol-formaldehyde resin) in an amount effective to (i) allow water vapor passage through the facing sheet when the thermoset resin is in its uncured state and (ii) provide mold and moisture resistance to the facing sheet when the thermoset resin is in its cured state and heating sufficiently to cure said resin and dry said gypsum core, thereby yielding said gypsum board.

Abstract: A membrane is provided including a coating layer having cellulose nanofibers produced from oxidized cellulose microfibers and an electrospun substrate upon which the coating layer is applied. Abstract: A golf club head has a face portion and a body portion. The face portion has a support frame, a matrix structure attached to and contained within the support frame, and a face material surrounding the matrix structure. In some aspects, the matrix structure may be a racquet structure that is tensioned to influence performance characteristics. The face material may be a metal, polymer, ceramic, or a combination thereof, and may be encapsulated over the matrix structure by suitable techniques such as coating, dipping, or molding processes such as injection molding or metal injection molding (MIM). In some aspects, the face material is lighter than the body portion of the club head, to concentrate mass away from the striking face, e.g., as in cup face technology.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for imparting bacteriostatic effect to a textile product by immersing the textile product for 20 minutes or more in an aqueous solution containing a cationic polypeptide at a concentration of 250 ppm or more, which solution has a temperature of 25° C. or more. By bacteriostatically treating a textile product in accordance with such method, the bacteriostatic effect is not reduced and thus retained even after the textile product is washed for a plurality of times.
