Abstract: A multi-layered clothing material in one embodiment includes an upper polymeric layer; an intermediate mixture layer; and a lower fabric layer. 2-5 wt % metal powder is mixed with 95-98 wt % adhesive to form an adhesive mixture which is applied on a releasable substrate together they are pressed and heated to form the mixture layer. The polymeric layer is formed on the mixture layer by pressing and heating. Both the polymeric layer and the mixture layer are formed on the fabric layer by pressing and heating. The metal powder is aluminum, titanium, zinc, or magnesium powder. The polymeric layer is formed of ePTFE, OPET, TPU, TPR, or TPE.

Abstract: The present invention relates to thermoset resin fibre components, composite materials comprising thermoset resin fibre components, composite articles manufactured using such composite materials and methodologies for manufacturing same. The thermoset resin fibre components may comprise a single fibre of thermoset resin or a plurality of fibres commingled together. There properties and characteristics of the thermoset resin used are chosen according to the material to be produced therefrom. The thermoset fibre components may be woven into reinforcement fibres to form prepregs. Thermoplastic fibres may be commingled and co-woven with the thermoset fibre components.

Abstract: This invention relates generally to a composite fabric and a method and apparatus for manufacturing a composite fabric, especially suitable for apparel application, upholstery, bed and bath applications. In an embodiment, a composite fabric comprises a base fabric made by weaving or knitting. A plurality of gaps is disposed in-between the fibers of the yarns of the base fabric. A plurality of functional fibers is entangled in the gaps followed by swelling of the fibers, with predetermined retention to the yarns of the base fabric.

Abstract: An article of apparel is disclosed that includes a textile with at least one property that changes upon exposure to a physical stimulus. The textile has a modifiable structure formed from one or more yarns that exhibit a dimensional transformation upon exposure to the physical stimulus. The yarns have a first set of dimensions when unexposed to the physical stimulus, and the yarns have a second set of dimensions when exposed to the physical stimulus. The structure of the textile is modified by exposing the textile to the physical stimulus such that the yarns transform from the first set of dimensions to the second set of dimensions and change the property of the textile. Reinforcing structures, incisions, partial incisions, and coatings may also be utilized to enhance the textile structures.
