  • Publication number: 20100178854
Abstract: Disclosed are a projector comprising an impeller rotated at high speed by a high-speed rotation driving device and a cover for covering the outer peripheral part of the impeller and having a projection material suction port and a projection material discharge port; and a blasting machine. In the projector, the entire of the impeller or the portion of the impeller with which the projection material is collided is formed of a high wear resistant rubber. It is possible to prevent the impeller and the projection material from damage, and to improve the durability of the projector. Furthermore, projection materials having high grinding property or those having fine particles and low specific gravity may also be used for the projector. Since the weight of the projector is light, it can be rotated directly by a motor at high speed and can be used under such conditions as ultra low temperature, ordinary temperature, high moisture, etc.

  • Publication number: 20080299876
Abstract: The present invention relates to a blasting device for premixed abrasive slurry jet. The device comprise a cylinder, in which defines a hydraulic oil side and a slurry side separated from each other hermetically, and the hydraulic oil side and the slurry side have ports for oil or slurry entry in and out respectively; hydraulic medium feeding system which is connected to the port of the cylinder for oil entry in and out through oil pipe; slurry jet system which is connected to the port of the cylinder for slurry entry in and out through slurry pipe; said cylinder has a sealed bladder to separate the hydraulic oil side and the slurry side. Friction between bladder and body become very little, as the slurry is ejected from the nozzle by utilizing the transformation of the bladder. So service life of the blasting device becomes longer. Furthermore, if the bladder mangles due to wear for use a long time, bladder can be renewed only. It is not necessary to renew the whole cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20030199232
Abstract: A particle blast system includes a feeder assembly having a rotor with a plurality of pockets formed in the peripheral surface. The transport gas flowpath includes the pockets, such that substantially all transport gas flows through the pockets. The seal adjacent the peripheral surface is actuated by the transport gas pressure to urge its sealing surface against the rotor's peripheral surface. At start up, there is no substantial pressure between the seal and the rotor, reducing start up torque requirements.

  • Publication number: 20030017792
Abstract: A particle blast apparatus includes a hopper assembly, which is mechanically isolated from the rest of the particle blast system. Energy is imparted to the hopper by an impulse assembly, which preferably is mounted directly to the hopper. The hopper is mounted to the apparatus on a slide assembly, which allows the hopper to be moved to a second position at which particles may be discharged from the hopper exit away from the particle feeder.

  • Patent number: 5779524
Abstract: An adjustable cage assembly for selectively varying the path of abrasive in an abrasive blast swath produced by a mobile surface abrading apparatus. The adjustable cage assembly operates in cooperation with a rotable wheel having multiple, radially-extending blades positioned in a wheel housing. A cage having a cage window extends into the center of the wheel and an impeller having multiple impeller slots is positioned in the cage for rotation with the wheel, and receives a supply of abrasive particles such as steel shot, from the apparatus. As the impeller and wheel are rotated and the abrasive is continually fed into the impeller, the abrasive is discharged through the rotatably aligned impeller slots and the selectively-positioned cage window, and is propelled by the rotating wheel blades through the abrasive discharge opening to abrade, clean or etch the pavement.

  • Patent number: 5779523
Abstract: A fluid jet accelerator/pressurizer apparatus for accelerating and pressurizing a fluidized stream of particulate matter, e.g. for ice blasting, has a nozzle housing defining a main conduit, forming a passage for the flow of the fluidized stream through the nozzle housing. The main conduit has a constriction formed by a convergent-divergent region of the main conduit for effecting acceleration of the fluidized stream, and an inner blast nozzle is provided in the main conduit and directed in a downstream direction towards the constriction. In operation, a blast medium is discharged from the inner blast nozzle at a speed sufficient to form within the fluidized stream a flow front which is impenetrable by the fluidized stream and which co-operates with the constriction to accelerate the fluidized stream.

  • Patent number: 5688162
Abstract: A blast wheel assembly has a bladed rotor and an impeller which rotate together. A cage has an axial and angular wall including an aperture through which in use particulate material passes. The cross section of the aperture is irregular to control the uniformity of blast effect on a surface being treated. The assembly can be in a mobile or static machine. Various forms of aperture are described, the preferred form of which is of non-uniform shape as it extends angularly with respect to the cage axis, the aperture being of less cross-section in a region intermediate the angular end regions of the aperture.

  • Patent number: 5498197
Abstract: A hand-held blast cleaning machine having a motor which serves as a handle. The machine includes a blast assembly for propelling abrasive material against a surface and a hopper for supplying abrasive material to the blast assembly. The blast assembly has a blast corridor, a rebound corridor, a blast opening, a blast wheel and a motor. The motor drives the rotation of the blast wheel and serves as a handle. The hopper has a return corridor, a collection area, a feed area and a vacuum conduit. The vacuum conduit is connected to a vacuum source to collect dust and debris from the blast cleaning operation. In one embodiment, an side-blast hopper, a down-blast hopper, an up-blast hopper and a side-feed hopper are all interchangeably attachable to the same blast assembly. A shut-off handle is attached to the blast assembly to provide automatic shut-off abrasive material to the blast wheel and to function as a second handle. In another embodiment, the motor serves as the only handle.
