Plural Matches Create Pattern (e.g., Bingo, Etc.) Patents (Class 463/19)
  • Patent number: 8221210
Abstract: A method of play and system of implementing a primary lottery game having a secondary individual game for a multiplier value of winnings of the primary lottery game and potential secondary winnings for the secondary individual game. A player enters the primary lottery game, which can provide a first monetary winnings, and then can enter a secondary individual game that, if won, provides either a multiplier value of first monetary winnings, separate secondary monetary winnings, or both. The possible total prize amount awarded to the player includes first monetary winnings awarded from the primary lottery game multiplied by any multiplier awarded in the secondary individual game, and any secondary monetary winnings from the secondary individual game. Alternately, a win solely in the secondary individual game can yield a separate award of secondary monetary winnings, regardless if the primary lottery game has winnings.

  • Patent number: 8216051
Abstract: A mechanical reel system with alterable reel symbols. Pivoting reel symbol members are provided at predetermined locations about a reel, each member having two, three, or six sides, for example. On each surface, a different symbol (or a blank symbol) is disposed thereon. A transmissive LCD is positioned over the reels, and when the reels display blanks, images are displayed on the LCD over the blanked area(s) during, e.g., a video bonus game played on the LCD. The symbol members can be altered within a game to display a different set of symbols on the reels, or they can be altered to convert the game from one theme to another. In another embodiment, a bellow-like reel strip, which is folded accordion-style, is retracted or extended relative to the periphery of the reel, allowing a symbol set or subset to replace a corresponding symbol (sub)set displayed on the underlying reel.

  • Patent number: 8202153
Abstract: In one primary embodiment of the present invention, the player must wager a number of paylines to qualify for one of a plurality of bonus games. The highest required number of paylines qualifies the player to play the main or most elaborate bonus game. The main or first bonus game preferably has the highest average payout per credit wagered. This provides an incentive to the player to play the highest required number of paylines. In an embodiment, any number of paylines less than the highest required number or max lines qualifies the player to play a second bonus game. The second bonus game has an average payout per credit wagered that is slightly less than the main bonus game. This allows the incentive or disparity between payouts to be set by the game designer so that the player not wagering max lines or the highest required number is not overly disadvantaged.

Abstract: A gaming device including a plurality of symbol generators with a plurality of symbols on or associated with each symbol generator. At least one and preferably a plurality of the symbols are reflector symbols. A reflector symbol is a symbol that, when generated on one of the reels, causes any payline which runs through such symbol to be reflected back across one or more of the reels. In operation, after providing the player any award based on the symbols generated on any wagered on paylines, the gaming device determines if at least one reflector symbol is generated on at least one of the wagered on paylines. If at least one reflector symbol is generated on at least one of the wagered on paylines, the generated reflector symbol causes the activated payline which runs through the generated reflector symbol to reflect back across one, more or each of the reels to form a supplemental payline.
