    Abstract: A nonwoven fabric, particularly composed by long-stock synthetic resin yarns such as polyethylene and polypropylene is provided at one or both surfaces thereof with an ink-setting layer formed by coating, drying and curing a resin composition containing some of acrylic resins, synthetic rubbers and polyester resins. The ink-setting layer is excellent in the transfer property and fixing ability to an oil ink which is ordinarily used for offset printing, and prevents the nonwoven fabric from being swelled or transformed by a petroleum high-boiling-point solvent contained in the oil ink. Preferably, a low-temperature cross-linking agent is incorporated with the resin composition of the ink-setting layer so as to complete cross-linking of the resin composition at a low temperature at which heat shrinkage or heat damage of the nonwoven fabric will not be caused, in a shortened period of time.

Polymerization of the monomers thus present is carried out to provide highly uniform dispersions of the resulting polymers in each other. The invention allows for the control of the morphology of the blends, the improvement in compatability of otherwise incompatible polymers, and improvements in the processability of the polymers due to enhanced thermal and mechanical properties.

They are obtained by the reaction, in dimethylethyleneurea of pH.ltoreq.7 as polycondensation solvent, of a diisocyanate, an aromatic acid anhydride, optionally an alkali or alkaline earth dicarboxybenzene sulphonate and optionally another aromatic dicarboxylic acid, the polyamide-imide concentration therefore being from 4 to 35%, then by dilution in a polar solvent at a temperature of between 120.degree. and 200.degree. C.The solutions thus obtained are limpid at ambient temperature, capable of being stored and have an improved color.
