    Abstract: Oxidatively crosslinking essentially isocyanate-free urethane resins, obtainable by reactingA) 100 parts by weight of an ester of(a.sub.1) an aliphatic C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 -alcohol having three or more hydroxyl groups and(a.sub.2) an unsaturated C.sub.8 -C.sub.40 -fatty acid and(a.sub.3) if required, an aliphatic or aromatic polycarboxylic acid of 4 to 20 carbon atoms or an anhydride thereof, in amounts of up to 60% by weight, based on the fatty acid a.sub.2),the ester containing sufficient free hydroxyl groups to correspond to an OH number of 50-150 mg of KOH/g, withB)(b.sub.1) 3-120 parts by weight of C.sub.5 -C.sub.15 -polyhydroxycarboxylic acids having two or more hydroxyl groups and(b.sub.2) 10-100 parts by weight of an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic polyisocyanate or a mixture thereof,at 50.degree.-150.degree.
