  • Patent number: 8764867
Abstract: An oil flow management system reduces the amount of oil directed from an aircraft engine to the environment outside of the aircraft, even when the aircraft is in inverted flight. This decreases the amount of oil that becomes attached to exterior surfaces of the aircraft fuselage. A gaseous mixture including air and oil is directed from the aircraft engine to a separator, which separate the mixture into a gaseous component and an oil component. The oil component is directed from the separator to a reservoir via a unidirectional valve. When in a first orientation, the unidirectional valve allows oil to flow from the separator to the reservoir. However, when in a second orientation, the unidirectional valve blocks oil from flowing from the reservoir to the separator.

Abstract: Disclosed is an improved device for combustion and purification treatment of automobile smoky exhaust, which includes, in sequence between an inlet end and an outlet end of an exhaust pipe, a combustion system and an exhaust buffering and filtration system. Exhaust gas, when passing through the combustion system, is forced to divide and individually flow through a plurality of gas channels. A fuel atomization nozzle that cannot be blown off by exhaust flow injects and atomizes fuel. An igniter ignites the fuel. The exhaust gas passing through the gas channels induces a siphon effect to draw heat from the chamber after the combustion to mix with the exhaust gas so as to increase the temperature of the exhaust gas. An exhaust buffering unit reduces the flowing speed of the exhaust gas. The high temperature exhaust gas then cause carbon deposit to combust so as to eliminate the carbon deposit.

Abstract: An air directing device for motorcycles with an inner air directing plenum and an engine air cleaner bottom housing. The inner air directing plenum nests into the air cleaner bottom housing half. The walls of the air cleaner housing include an aperture that aligns with the forward opening of the inner air directing plenum. The air cleaner housing bottom base plate includes an aperture that aligns with the rear portion of the inner air directing plenum and also aligns with the location of the rear cylinder of a twin cylinder motorcycle engine. An optional outer air directing plenum attaches to the top housing half of an engine air cleaner. The space created between the top housing half and the inside surface of the outer plenum allows an air flow when the motorcycle is in motion that helps cool the rear cylinder of a twin cylinder motorcycle engine.

Abstract: An air intake system (20) for a utility vehicle engine (16) is provided. The system comprises an air filter module (21) having a pre-filter (22) upstream of a main filter (24) wherein the pre-filter serves to extract dust from the air stream. The system further comprises a fan module (32) which is dedicated to deliver a scavenging vacuum which sucks said dust through a scavenger vent (28) in the pre-filter. The fan module (34) is secured to the air filter module (21). By providing a dedicated fan for extracting the dust from the system the reliance on the engine exhaust to provide the vacuum is removed. Furthermore, the securing of the fan module to the air filter module reduces the number of components on the vehicle assembly line.

  • Patent number: 8603208
Abstract: The invention relates to a motor vehicle air filter system with pipe elements for feed and discharge of an air flow, particularly for an internal combustion engine. To remove water which is filtered out of the air flow, under the bottom of the housing of the air filter a tube element is attached. Since this assembly region is poorly accessible, there is the risk that the tube element will be kinked or pinched during installation and thus water cannot properly drain out. In order to enable smooth and reliable assembly of the tube element, the tube element according to the invention is attached to the pipe element by means of carrier elements. In the assembly of the pipe element the tube element is automatically located at the proper position in the installation space. Here it is protected against kinking by its connection to the pipe element.
