Abstract: The invention relates to a bottle for packaging a liquid with dropper delivery comprising a reservoir with an elastically deformable wall that can be reversed by letting air into the receptacle, surmounted by a dispensing head for the liquid comprising a drop-counting end-piece protruding to the outside of the bottle and an anti-bacterial filtering membrane, made partially hydrophilic and partially hydrophobic, which is interposed across the path of the liquid and of the air, at the base of the said end-piece. The dispensing head comprises an insert with a recessed body which contains a porous pad regulating the flow of liquid placed downstream of the reservoir and upstream of a chamber delimited downstream of the said membrane. At the base of this insert on the inner side of the bottle, longitudinal arches supporting a central pellet make star-shaped passageways radially guiding the air that enters the bottle after having passed through the porous pad.

Abstract: A dispensing tip apparatus for an eye drop dispenser to administer topical ophthalmic solutions is described. The apparatus integrates an ophthalmic solution-dispensing tip with an optical gauging assembly. The tip provides continuous visual feedback about it orientation and relationship to the eye. The dispensing tip when attached to any standard topical ophthalmic solution dispensing bottle or reservoir enables the user to view a target, visually align the dispenser tip, and administer an eye drop with precision. There is also a visual feedback by which the dispenser tip is prevented from gaining too close proximity and contacting the eye, thus preventing contamination of the medication and its dispenser. The visual feedback can also contain textual or graphic information that serves as a promotional advertisement. The is assembly can be attached to the neck of an eye drop bottle or attached to the tip of an eye drop bottle.

Abstract: A metered dispenser includes a housing including a reciprocal piston drive stem including an inlet opening at a first end thereof, a floating piston at a second end, and a passage between the first and second ends. An inlet valve is provided adjacent the first end for permitting entry of liquid product into the passage. A biased cocking mechanism is reciprocally disposed substantially within the housing. A biased loading mechanism is movable in a second generally opposite direction by the cocking mechanism, and is engageable with the piston drive stem to move the drive stem in the second direction. When the cocking mechanism is moved from an initial rest position toward the second direction, a series of operations allow the loading mechanism to project the drive stem in the first direction to dispense a metered dose of liquid product through a discharge orifice provided adjacent the second end.

  • Patent number: 7556621
Abstract: An optically controlled microfluidic chip is provided for administering a fluid to a neuronal site. The chip is made of at least one unit or pixel, each of which constitutively emits fluid in the dark, and reduces emission of fluid in response to light. The individual pixels are capable of being individually controlled, thereby translating a spatial pattern of incident light into a spatial pattern of neuronal stimulation. Each pixel contains a housing, an aperture in the housing, and a reservoir containing fluid that is connected to the aperture. The aperture is designed to allow continuous emission of fluid from the reservoir through the aperture when the pixel is in the dark. Each pixel also includes an optical control, which reduces the emission of fluid from the reservoir through the aperture in response to light.
