Sliding Patents (Class 70/118)
  • Patent number: 4563886
Abstract: A locking arrangement for securing doors (2) or the like with two bolts (5, ) displaceable relative to the door (2) to be closed and two locking devices (7, 8) associated therewith are described. One of the two locking devices (7, 8) has a locking mechanism (9) lockable with a key (10) and the other one is associated with a remote-controllable unlocking drive (14). A positioning device (16) is furthermore associated with lock bolt (5) lockable by the locking mechanism (9), which is actuated when lock bolt (5) is open. The actuation of the remote-controllable unlocking drive (14) is released when lock bolt (5) is open. Safety bolt (6) is associated with the unlocking drive (14). A drive device (17) is associated with the safety bolt (6) and is effective in the opening direction. It cooperates with the lock bolt (5) and is movable with the same in a starting position provided for the displacement of the safety bolt (6 ).

  • Patent number: 4559880
Abstract: A safe having improved security and being particularly well suited for securing within a drawer is provided. The safe is formed from a one-piece steel sheet providing a seamless top. A safe door is formed in an opening in the safe top with a door hinged by a hinge with a pin recessed below the top surface to prevent attack. The safe door is locked by a three-point bolting lock. The safe may be secured within a drawer by outwardly projecting bolts which prevent removal of the safe without destroying the drawer. An internal alarm may be set to operate upon removal of the safe from the drawer.

  • Patent number: 4534192
Abstract: A door is locked in the closed position by a system of five bolts which can be simultaneously operated from either side of the door by a handle or key operator. Both the handle and key operator are common to all of the bolts in the system and are connected through a rotary camming device with a linkage including parts drivingly connected with the bolts. A lost motion connection is provided between the key operator and rotary camming device to enable complete rotation and withdrawal of the key. The linkage and bolts are protectively enclosed inside of tough conduits and linkage access housings. A safety bolt immobilizing device is provided on the door adjacent to one bolt of the locking system to block the extension of the bolts while the door is open and this device moves automatically to a bolt release position when the door is closed. The locking system can be placed in a residential door or may be installed on a commercial door.

  • Patent number: 4470276
Abstract: A lock for a pair of doors hung in a single door frame, usually an inner main door and an outer door which may be a storm door and usually includes glass or screen panels through which a caller may be observed and identified, the lock including a pair of bolts carried by the door frame and operable to be extended therefrom to engage sockets formed therefor respectively in the door edges to secure them against opening. The bolts are operated by a lock shaft carried in the door frame to unlock first the inner door, so that it may be opened to permit observation and identification of a caller, while the outer door remains locked, and then to unlock the outer door if desired, to permit ingress of the caller. The lock shaft may be operated from inside the doors by a manual lever, and from outside by a key mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4470277
Abstract: A locking mechanism for security doors such as safes. A mounting plate is provided for attachment to the inner surface of the door. A cylindrical activating member is mounted on a pin for rotation about an axis normal to the inner surface of the door. The activating member contains a plurality of activating fingers and mounting posts for connecting to locking pin actuating mechanisms directly or through linkages. A groove is provided in the periphery of the activating member. A pair of sliding members are mounted to the plate. One sliding member is positioned to slide into the groove to prevent rotation of the activating member. The second sliding member is adapted to slide into abutment with the first member to prevent sliding thereof. Standard lock mechanisms of the combination or pin tumbler type for use with a key are mounted to the plate and connected to the two sliding members to control their movement.

  • Patent number: 4432573
Abstract: A locking system for safe doors of the type comprising a turnable handle or handwheel for operating one or more sets of bolts between a locked position, wherein the bolts project into the door rim, and an unlocked position, wherein the bolts are withdrawn from the door rim. The system is characterized by bolt-securing means in the form of locking pins adapted to be inserted, in the locked position of the bolt, into aligned bores formed through each bolt and through a wall of a fixed bolt housing block slidingly supporting the bolt during the displacement thereof between the locked and unlocked positions. The pins are displaced into their locking or inserted position immediately after the locking of the bolts during a continuous rotation of the handle.

  • Patent number: 4376379
Abstract: A locking device comprising driving members driven by a thumb turn from insie a room and by a key from outside the room, dead bolts brought into engagement with the driving members to advance or retreat to lock or unlock the room, and switches for detecting the advance and retreat of the dead bolts. Said dead bolts are formed by dividing the thickness of a dead bolt to two parts while said driving members by dividing the thickness of a driving member to two parts, said dead bolts are brought into engagement with said driving members to advance or retreat, and one of said driving members is driven by the thumb turn while the other by the key. An engaging means is provided between said driving members or dead bolts in such a way that said driving member driven by the thumb turn is rotated integral with the other driving member driven by the key only when the latter is rotated to lock the room.

  • Patent number: 4342207
Abstract: In a safe locking mechanism including a spindle which rotates a cam plate to extend or withdraw a plurality of locking bolts, a novel relock mechanism includes a floating hard plate interposed between the inside surface of the safe door and the cam plate. A plurality of springs are disposed between the interior surface of the safe door and the floating hard plate to bias the hard plate toward the cam plate. Each of the locking bolts includes a chordal notch therein to engage the edge of the hard plate and prevent retraction of the locking bolts. The cam plate includes raised camming rails which engage raised buttons on the hard plate, so that rotation of the camming plate releases the hard plate from the notches in the locking bolts and permits the bolts to be withdrawn only by rotation of the spindle.

  • Patent number: 4184349
Abstract: This is a burglar-proof door for apartments or houses and it is held closed by bolts extending from within the door and into sockets in the frame that surrounds the door. The door has hinges, but in the preferred construction there are four bolts, one on each edge of the door so that the door cannot be opened by removal of the pins from the hinges. An electric motor operates, when a magnetically-coded card is inserted in a slot in the outside of the door, to lock or unlock the door when a handle is turned one way or the other. When there is a serious fire in the apartment or the house, a thermostat causes the door to unlock automatically.
