  • Patent number: 7712343
Abstract: A deadbolt mechanism including a lock out mechanism that functions to disable the operation of the deadbolt from at least one side of the deadbolt mechanism. The deadbolt mechanism includes a deadbolt, key cylinder, housing, turn knob and a shaft that connects the key cylinder and turn knob. To place the deadbolt mechanism in lock out mode, a release mechanism is actuated and the turn knob is pulled outward away from the door. By pulling the knob outward, the shaft engages a portion of the housing which prevents rotation of the shaft and thereby prevents movement of the deadbolt from the lock-out position.

  • Patent number: 7530245
Abstract: A door lock includes outer assemblies, latch assemblies and inner assemblies. The inner assemblies has a turning switch, fixing bolts, an interior rose and a detent device that includes an inner plate, a stop plate, a stop seat, a rotating spring, a retaining spring and a sprag. By pressing down the stop plate as the latch bolt is in a casing, a protruding block of the stop seat is engaged with a protruding member of the stop plate. The spindle can not rotate backward and maintains in an unlocked state. After the stop plate is pressed upward, the turning switch returns to a locked state and the latch bolt extends out of the casing. Therefore, the detent device can keep the latch bolt in the casing and keep the lock in the unlocked state.

  • Patent number: 7010946
Abstract: The invention generally relates to a latch apparatus having a locking live bolt. One embodiment of the invention is a latch apparatus having a housing with opposed plates that are spaced apart and secured to each other by support arms formed from the plates. A live bolt of the apparatus is slidably mounted in the housing and horizontally actuated between an extended and a retracted position. A live bolt hub is mounted in the housing and actuates the live bolt. A slide, actuated by a rotatable cam, is mounted in the housing and moves vertically between a first position and a second position. In the first position the slide is disengaged from the live bolt, and in the second position the slide locks the live bolt in an extended position.

  • Patent number: 6926319
Abstract: A rose locking mechanism developed with a hybrid lock architecture for a door designed to incorporate the functionality of a cylindrical lock architecture with the ease of installation of a tubular lock architecture is provided by the present invention. The hybrid lock architecture comprises a chassis assembly having an inside chassis assembly and an outside chassis assembly that are telescopically engaged to accommodate different door widths. A door latch assembly is operably connected to the chassis assembly for retroaction and extension of a bolt. A handle is mounted on a spindle on either side of the chassis assembly wherein rotational motion imparted on one of the handles is converted to linear motion within the chassis assembly in order to retract the bolt of the door latch assembly. The inside chassis assembly includes a rose locking mechanism positioned radially outward of said inside spindle.

  • Patent number: 6793254
Abstract: An automatic door latch is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the latch includes a dead bolt which is automatically moved from a partially retracted or trigger position to a fully extended locking position when a door in which the lock is mounted is closed. When a key is used to unlock the dead bolt from outside of the door, or a finger turn or key is used to unlock the dead bolt from inside of the door, the dead bolt is automatically reset to the trigger position. In a preferred embodiment, the dead bolt lock includes a multi-position switch mounted in the lock housing which engages a contact member mounted on the dead bolt. Retraction of the dead bolt into the housing causes the multi-position switch to engage the contact member and to secure the dead bolt in the trigger position. Subsequent retraction of the dead bolt into the housing causes the multi-position switch to disengage from the contact member, thereby allowing the dead bolt to extend from the housing to the locked position.

  • Patent number: 6691538
Abstract: An enhanced door lock is capable of being locked from an inner side of a doorplate. At the outer lock portion, a ring seat and a C ring clamp two sides of the outer plate of the doorplate so as to enhance the structure of the doorplate to prevent the door lock from being pulled out. The inner cover is installed with a positioning hole. One side of a top of the control knob is drilled with a stud receiving groove. A positioning pin is placed in a stud receiving groove. The outer sleeve and the stud of the positioning pin are coupled with the stud receiving groove; then the bead resisting against the spring exactly pushes the positioning groove of the stud to resist against a positioning groove. By this structure, the lock is locked from the inner side of the doorplate.

  • Patent number: 5987947
Abstract: A manual control device includes an actuated tube which is connected to the stem member contacting against the rod movably received in the plug of the pickproof lock, an operating member securely connected to the actuating tube by receiving the boss thereof in the groove defined in the actuating tube, wherein the operating member has a rib so as to be frictionally received in the actuating tube. Both of the actuating tube and the operating member are received in the sleeve which has an L-shaped groove into which the protrusion extending from the actuating tube is movably received. The stem member pushes the rod of the pickproof lock by pushing the combination of the actuating tube and the operation member and rotating the combination to let the protrusion be securely positioned in the L-shaped groove of the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5865050
Abstract: A locking cover for a dead bolt lock assembly that permits a user to put it in one of three positions: neutral, locked and unlocked. The cover in the neutral position permits the operation of the bolt lock assembly normally. The other positions limit the rotational travel of the actuating shaft to one quarter of a turn. The actuating shaft is rotated by turning the locking cover that includes a central tubular cylinder for selective engagement with the actuating shaft. A pin mounted on the interior of the cover is receivable within one of three holes on an annular base plate that limits the rotation of the actuating shaft.
