Waveform Analysis Patents (Class 702/66)
  • Patent number: 9689660
Abstract: An object of this invention is to sense a transient displacement of the blade position to thereby detect abnormalities early. The invention includes: one or more first sensors mounted so as to be removable from an outer surface of a casing opposed to blade tips; a second sensor for acquiring a signal from a fixed point on a rotor shaft of the blades; a section configured to extract data groups from an output signal of the first sensor on the basis of information acquired by the second sensor; a section configured to average the data groups; a section configured to determine thresholds from averaged data obtained under a healthy condition; and an assessing section configured to compare magnitude of the thresholds and sensor signals obtained during blade status monitoring. Since a transient displacement of blade position can be sensed, abnormalities can be detected early in this invention. This early detection, in turn, enables a rotation to be stopped during an initial phase of blade damage.

Abstract: A system, instructions and a method of determining when an impending failure is likely to occur absent corrective action are disclosed. The system samples the output of a power supply which powers an electrostatic chuck, and determines when that output is outside acceptable limits. The output is sampled at a sufficiently high frequency so as to detect transient anomalies, which are not detectable at lower sampling rates. In some embodiments, the output is converted to a frequency spectrum. The empirical model is compared to known good reference models and, in some embodiments, failure reference models of known failure modes to determine whether an impending failure will occur, and which type of failure.

Abstract: Methods and systems for estimating arrival time of switching events include measuring two or more emission events from a device under test under different skew conditions. The two or more emission events are close in time and space when no skew condition is applied. The measured waveforms of the two or more emission events are analyzed with associated skew conditions to determine a skew value that corresponds with a time separation between the two or more emission events.

Abstract: An apparatus has an input section arranged to receive values representative of the total instantaneous supply of electrical current as a function of time from an alternating voltage supply. Current waveforms comprising sets of values representative of the cyclic waveform of the electric current supply are obtained. A delta waveform generator calculates the difference between a current waveform and an earlier current waveform. An edge detector is arranged to detect an edge or edges in the delta waveform. An analysis section is arranged to identify at least one appliance load based at least on information on the edge or edges detected by the edge detector, and to determine the electrical energy consumed by said appliance load.
