Abstract: A biometric monitoring device configured to be worn by a subject includes a physiological sensor configured to detect and/or measure physiological information from the subject, and a processor configured to analyze signals from the physiological sensor to detect a signature unique to the subject wearing the biometric monitoring device, and determine if the detected signature is a first signature associated with the biometric monitoring device being worn or a second signature associated with the biometric monitoring device not being worn. The first and second signatures are generated by the processor prompting the subject to indicate at prior times when the biometric monitoring device is being worn and is not being worn.

Abstract: Using an average historical price for vehicles of similar parameters, a method is provided that allows sellers and a best bidder, following an inconclusive auction for a vehicle, to negotiate with confidence a closing price for a sale of the vehicle. The method and system provides the ability for the best bidder (or a second-best bidder) to enter a new bid, and for the seller to accept a previous bid or the new bid, if any, in light of the average historical price, without reopening the auction broadly to other bidders. A post-auction negotiation engine is also provided.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for analyzing and updating merchants' data structures. For instance, a payment service may store data structures associated with merchants, where each data structure indicates items that a respective merchant offers for acquisition. The payment service may then analyze at least a first data structure to determine first items offered for acquisition by a first merchant and a second data structure to determine second items offered for acquisition by a second merchant. Based on the first items and the second items, the payment service may determine an item to recommend to the second merchant. The payment service may then generate and send a message to a merchant device of the second merchant, where the message recommends that the second merchant offer the item for acquisition. In some instances, the first merchant and the second merchant are each associated with a specific type of business.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a customized recommendation system for home assessment, in which the system comprises one or more databases, a first computing device, and a server computer comprising hardware, including a processor and memory. The server computer may receive a request for information on a home of the user from the first computing device. The server computer may identify publicly available information for the home and customer information comprising information about one or more features of the home and materials used in the home by parsing the one or more databases. By further analyzing the customer information and the publicly available information, the server computer may determine one or more tips for the home and generate a customized recommendation for the user including the one or more tips for the home. The server computer may then transmit the customized recommendation to the first computing device associated with the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods having a graphic user interface for market research surveys are provided that allow users to participate in a combined prediction market and market research environment virtually without being presented directly with a stock market environment. Abstract: Systems and methods are described for aggregating and filling Volume Attentive Trade (VAT) orders using a VAT Liquidity Builder. As described, in various aspects a first grouping of VAT orders may be aggregated by the VAT Liquidity Builder. A second grouping of VAT orders may also be aggregated by the VAT Liquidity Builder. Each of the VAT orders for the first and second groups may each include a set of VAT rules that define a limit price, a share quantity and a VAT delta. The VAT Liquidity Builder may then generate an effective limit price for each of the first group of VAT orders using the corresponding limit prices and VAT deltas, and generate an execution command to fill a particular VAT order having the largest share quantity from the second group of VAT orders with one or more qualifying VAT orders from the first group.

Abstract: Techniques for initiating offers for insurance based upon medical diagnostic examinations may include, for each of a plurality of stored examination results: with a patient's or customer's affirmative consent or permission, (1) determining a health profile of a respective patient; (2) determining, based upon contents of the health profile, whether or not the patient is eligible for one or more offers of insurance; (3) providing the health profile of an eligible patient to one or more insurance providers; and/or (4) receiving one or more insurance offers that include binding quotes for insurance. Using the techniques disclosed herein, patients who have undergone medical examinations may be automatically selected and provided with insurance offers for which they have been pre-approved. In response to receiving a request to restart processing of the online transaction, the OLTP system may de-queue the database record, identify a set of products in the itinerary for which processing of the transaction has not been completed, and determine the status of each product in the set. Based on the status of each product, the OLTP system may determine a point at which processing should be restarted for the product, and a sequence in which the products should be processed.

Abstract: An online system builds a high definition (HD) map for a geographical region based on sensor data captured by a plurality of autonomous vehicles driving through a geographical region. The autonomous vehicles detect map discrepancies based on differences in the surroundings observed using sensor data compared to the high definition map and send messages describing these map discrepancies to the online system. The online system ranks the autonomous vehicles based on factors including an upload rate indicating how often the vehicle was used providing data to the online system. The sensor data from vehicles is uploaded to the online system (e.g., in the cloud) to create the HD map while spreading the burden of uploading this data as evenly as possible across a fleet of vehicles. Data uploads are expensive and time consuming, so the system makes this negligible for each vehicle by balancing/managing the uploads carefully across the fleet.

First data associated with a plurality of entities may be obtained, and a representation characterizing similarities among the plurality may be generated. Based on the representation, at least one entity cluster may be identified as corresponding to a candidate fraud network. A score associated with each of the at least one entity cluster may be determined, where the score indicates a likelihood that a corresponding entity cluster represents a fraud network, and at least some of the at least one entity cluster may be identified as a fraud network based on the score.
