Abstract: In various embodiments, enhanced metadata for media files is provided. In one embodiment, a method is provided. The method includes receiving metadata and media data of a plurality of media data files. The method also includes combining the media data of the plurality of media data files into a combined media data file. The method further includes associating metadata of the plurality of media data files with the combined media data file. The method also includes adjusting the metadata of the plurality of media data files as associated with the combined media data file to reflect segments of the combined media data file corresponding to the plurality of media data files. The method may further include each media data file of the plurality of media data files including segments having metadata associated therewith and the combined media data file including metadata associated with each segment of the plurality of media data files.

Abstract: A system and method for collection of electronically stored information (ESI) from Windows based desktops and laptops is disclosed that are under the control of remote custodians. The system and method include an external persistent memory storage device and a software application tool that is loaded onto the persistent memory storage device. The external persistent memory storage device is connected to the computer system hosting the persistent memory storage device to be examined, for example, by way of a USB or Ethernet port. Once connected to the computer system hosting the persistent memory storage device to be examined, a Quick Start program, which, when opened, allows the required processing to be methodically performed. Documentation is provided for completing information regarding the chain of custody of the external persistent memory storage device. The documentation may be imprinted on a security receptacle for receiving the external persistent memory storage device.

Abstract: Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for removing redundant data from a storage system. In one example, a data delineation process delineates data targeted for de-duplication into regions using a plurality of markers. The de-duplication system determines which of these regions should be subject to further de-duplication processing by comparing metadata representing the regions to metadata representing regions of a reference data set. The de-duplication system identifies an area of data that incorporates the regions that should be subject to further de-duplication processing and de-duplicates this area with reference to a corresponding area within the reference data set.

Abstract: An analysis module, when triggered by a synchronization framework when a new data item is added to a project data store, runs a series of analysis feature extractors on the new content. An analysis may be conducted, and features of interest may be extracted from the data item. The analysis utilizes natural language processing, as well as other technologies, to provide an automatic or semi-automatic extraction of information. The extracted features of interest are saved as metadata within the project data store, and are associated with the data item from which it was extracted. The analysis module may be utilized to discover additional information that may be gleaned from content that is already in the project data store.

Abstract: An apparatus for authoring data in a communication system includes: an extraction unit configured to receive media corresponding to contents and extract contents information regarding the contents from the received media; a generation unit configured to generate a DMB ECG XML-based metadata comprising the extracted contents information; and a processing unit configured to visualize particulars of the DMB ECG XML-based metadata through a user interface and process the user interface so that the DMB ECG XML-based metadata is generated and edited on a template.

Abstract: The present relates to a method and a system for generating a virtual profile of an entity. The method and system build requests based on available information about the entity. The requests are sent to a plurality of information resources. Responses from the information resources are received and analyzed to identify new information related to the available information. The building of requests, sending of requests, receiving responses and analyzing of responses is repeated for the new information to obtain additional new information. The available information, new information and additional new information is stored in a memory. The virtual profile is prepared based on the stored available information, the stored new information and the stored additional new information.

Abstract: A method for analyzing, querying, and mining graph databases using subgraph and similarity querying. An index structure, known as a closure tree, is defined for topological summarization of a set of graphs. In addition, a significance model is created in which the graphs are transformed into histograms of primitive components. Finally, connected substructures or clusters, comprising paths or trees, are detected in networks found in the graph databases using a random walk technique and a repeated random walk technique.

Abstract: A guided remote storage (GRS) is described for a portable computing device (PCD) capable of holding any type of digital information. The information required by the PCD does not need to be stored on the device but can be stored on a remote tower that holds information required for these devices. To the extent a user would like to use some of the information, the PCD can download it from the tower, effectively giving the device much more memory. The system ideally requires constant communication between the PCD and the tower. In the event the PCD can not maintain constant communication with the tower, the system will provide for intelligent exchange of information between the device and the tower. To solve the problem with intermittent service, the PCD can be provided with a GPS and the service provider will have a map of the areas that have service and the areas that don't have service. Information can then be downloaded on to the device based on this mapping information and the projected movement of the PCD.

Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate to a system for presenting an advertisement to a customer during a financial transaction which may include an advertisement optimization computer, an advertisement repository database which may store one or more advertisements and information regarding a particular audience to which the respective advertisements should be presented and a computer system configured to allow advertisements to be uploaded to the advertisement repository database. The advertisement may be presented at a point of transaction wherein the financial transaction is being conduced and the financial transaction data from the financial transaction being conducted at the point of transaction may be determined at the point of transaction and may be transmitted to the advertisement optimization computer.

If the first and second contents are associated, the media manager module retrieves the second content and inserts the second content in a second metadata field of the media file.

Abstract: A behavioral targeting system determines user profiles from online activity. The system includes a plurality of models that define parameters for determining a user profile score. Event information, which comprises on-line activity of the user, is received at an entity. To generate a user profile score, a model is selected. The model comprises recency, intensity and frequency dimension parameters. The behavioral targeting system generates a user profile score for a target objective, such as brand advertising or direct response advertising. The parameters from the model are applied to generate the user profile score in a category. The behavioral targeting system has application for use in ad serving to on-line users.

The method also includes receiving, from a first user, a selection of a first rating group, from among the rating groups, to be applied to a set of users associated with the first user. The method also includes receiving, from a user, a request for a piece of content from the content. The method also includes determining that the user from which the request was received belongs to the set of users associated with the first user. The method also includes, based upon the determination that the user belonged to the set of users associated with the first user, accessing information associated with the first rating group and determining whether the first rating group includes a rating for the requested piece of content.

Markup language based templates may be generated based on the schemas, metadata and validation files. Markup documents or “markup” may be generated using the templates and the schemas, metadata and validation files. Workflow may be defined and imposed on the generation of the markup.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method, system and computer program product for the automated merger of content in progeny of a primary file in a version control system. In one embodiment of the invention, the method can include establishing different segments of content in a primary file in a merger tool executing in memory by a processor of a host computer and associating each of the segments with a classification corresponding to a particular merger rule selected from amongst different merger rules. The method also can include parsing content in different progeny of the primary file and identifying changes in a parsed portion of the progeny corresponding to a specific one of the segments of the primary file. The nonprescription medication consumer tool may be available to individuals as a website and/or mobile device application or as part of a vending system or dispensing machine.

Abstract: A system to automatically attach subject descriptions to a digital image containing one or more subjects is described. The system comprises a camera a set of remotely readable badges attached to the subjects, where each badge has a readable identification, a receiver to read the badges where the receiver can determine both the identification of each badge and the location of each badge, and a processor to combine the digital image and the identification and location information is described. By accessing a database containing the subject identification associated with each badge identification the processor can attach subject identification information to each subject in the image.

Abstract: Content from multiple different stations can be divided into segments based on time. Matched segments associated with each station can be identified by comparing content included in a first segment associated with a first station, to content included in a second segment associated with a second station. Syndicated content can be identified and tagged based, at least in part, on a relationship between sequences of matched segments on different stations. Various embodiments also include identifying main sequences associated with each station under consideration, removing some of the main sequences, and consolidating remaining main sequences based on various threshold criteria.

Abstract: A system and method for managing media advertising enterprise data. An enterprise data management (EDM) module can be configured to include a set of rules at an enterprise level to manage disparate and disconnected records. A scoring function with respect to each record can be computed based on the rules to determine the highest priority. The rules in association with the scoring function can be stored locally in an EDM database. A matching process can then be performed to accurately match similar records regardless of manual input, location, and format of the records in a distributed system. Each record can then be assigned with a parent enterprise advertiser. Such an optimization mechanism can interactively manage and report records at the enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner.

Abstract: A video processing system may include a video ingest module for receiving a plurality of georeferenced video feeds each including a sequence of video frames and initial geospatial metadata associated therewith, and each georeferenced video feed having a respective different geospatial accuracy level associated therewith. The system may further include a video processor coupled to the video ingest module and configured to perform image registration among the plurality of georeferenced video feeds, and generate corrected geospatial metadata for at least one of the georeferenced video feeds based upon the initial geospatial metadata, the image registration and the different geospatial accuracy levels.

The retrieved tag is then transmitted in response to the request.

Abstract: A method and system for authorizing a transaction that includes a remote location where the transaction takes place from which purchaser information may be obtained and providing that information to a central site where pre-determined information regarding the customer exists. Storing legal information at that central site provides the criterion for determining authorization by comparing the purchaser data with the stored legal information. The transaction data is stored, authorization is transmitted to the remote location, and the transaction authorization is transmitted to a temporary database available for near real-time access solely by law enforcement officers.

Abstract: An approach is provided for recycling information fragments in information spaces. An information management system detects a plurality of information management processes occurring in an information space. The information management processes retrieve one or more information fragments from the information space. The information management system then determines a sequence of states for each of the plurality of information management processes over a period of time and calculates a state trajectory from each of the sequence of states. The calculated state trajectories are used to predict a finite set of possible future states. The information management system uses the prediction to determine which of the one or more information fragments are recyclable and preserves the recyclable information fragments for responding to a subsequent request directed to the information space.

Abstract: A music recognition method and system for retrieving metadata based on content associated with a media file. The system includes a music recognition plug-in module associated with a music management unit that communicates with a centralized music repository. The unknown media file may be scanned for collecting a snippet and sent to the music repository in response to a user request for identifying metadata associated with the unknown media file. The music management unit responds to the user with a matching set of standardized metadata, one or more potentially matching sets of data, or an indication that no match is made. The unidentified media file can be made available to the user via a Web interface associated with a socialized music server in order to populate the repository with the standardized metadata.

Abstract: A method for enhancing fast backward performance includes: with regard to a plurality of offsets of a multimedia file, respectively storing corresponding cluster numbers into a first buffering region/buffer, where the offsets respectively correspond to different playback time points, and the cluster numbers respectively represent a plurality of clusters belonging to the multimedia file; and utilizing at least one portion of the offsets and the cluster numbers to perform a fast backward operation of the multimedia file. Abstract: According to embodiments of the invention, a system, method and computer program product for a computer program product for synchronizing content directories on cluster devices are provided. Embodiments generate a binary tree for each device in a cluster of devices, the binary tree representing the locations of all copies of content residing in the device. The binary tree for a plurality of other devices in the cluster may be stored in each device the binary tree. The binary trees for the plurality of other devices may be used to determine availability of content and the available content may be displayed to a user.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention solve the technical problem of identifying, collecting, and managing rules that improve poor quality data on enterprise initiatives ranging from data governance to business intelligence. In a specific embodiment of the present invention, a method is provided for producing data quality rules for a data set. A set of candidate conditional functional dependencies are generated comprised of candidate seeds of attributes that are within a certain degree of relatedness in the ontology of the data set. The candidate conditional functional dependencies are then applied to the data refined until they reach a quiescent state where they have not been refined even though the data they have been applied to has been stable. The resulting refined candidate conditional functional dependencies are the data enhancement rules for the data set and other related data sets.

The method includes generating a cross-usage matrix based upon a data of video sessions for a plurality of videos, generating a temporal matrix based upon release dates of the plurality of videos, generating a cross-temporal matrix based upon the cross-usage matrix and the temporal matrix, computing a global video rank corresponding to each of the plurality of videos based upon the cross-temporal matrix, generating a similarity score corresponding to each pair of videos in the plurality of videos based upon meta-data of the plurality of videos, and generating a local video rank corresponding to each of the plurality of videos relative to another video in the plurality of videos based upon the generated cross-usage matrix, the computed global video rank and the generated similarity score.

Abstract: A technique of performing a workflow on a plurality of task servers involves starting a plurality of task server processes on the plurality of task servers. Each task server provides an operating system which is constructed and arranged to locally run a respective task server process. The technique further involves receiving a workflow which includes a set of dependency-related predefined activities, and placing task identifiers in a queue structure based on the received workflow. The task identifiers identify tasks to be performed in a distributed manner by the plurality of task server processes started on the plurality of task servers. Each task is a specific execution of a dependency-related predefined activity of the workflow. Progress in performing the workflow is made as the plurality of task server processes (i) claim task identifiers from the queue structure and (ii) perform the tasks identified by the claimed task identifiers.

Abstract: Audio hot spotting is accomplished by specifying query criterion to include a non-lexical audio cue. The non-lexical audio cue can be, e.g., speech rate, laughter, applause, vocal effort, speaker change or any combination thereof. The query criterion is retrieved from an audio portion of a file. A segment of the file containing the query criterion can be provided to a user. The duration of the provided segment can be specified by the user along with the files to be searched. A list of detections of the query criterion within the file can also be provided to the user. Searches can be refined by the query criterion additionally including a lexical audio-cue. A keyword index of topic terms contained in the file can also be provided to the user.

Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods for managing different formats for media files and playback devices in a media system. The media system may include a source device, at least one playback device, and a manager device coupled through a communication system. The source device may store a plurality of media files for various media forms (e.g., video, audio, image, or gaming media files). Each media file and playback device may have a playback format that is specified by values of one or more format parameters. The manager device may automatically determine format parameters of each media file and playback device and store to a media data structure. The manager device may also automatically determine and store compatibility data indicating format compatibility between different media files and playback devices, the compatibility data being used to automatically convert media files to the formats of the playback devices.
