Abstract: Methods, systems and media are provided for turning large volumes of globally distributed data into actionable information by building a distributed semantic graph and maintaining such graph with up to date changes in data and client needs are provided. The semantic graph can be used to run subscriptions over interconnected semantic servers where each server can be capable of coupling to data sources, client applications and other semantic servers.

Abstract: A method of playing an original 3D content on a 3D enabled monitor, where the 3D enabled monitor does not support the original 3D format type of the original 3D content. The method includes the steps of automatically reading a portion the original 3D content to obtain an identity of the original 3D format type, this portion may or may not be a tag, and reading this portion may include playing multiple frames of the 3D content. The preferred method further includes automatically detecting a monitor and its 3D display format type. If no match is found between the original 3D format type and the display format type, then the method deconstruct the original image content and reconstruct the image content into a 3D format type supported by the 3D display format type.

Abstract: An object oriented design for an automated modeling system for mapping and monitoring the business roles and impact of elements within an IT Infrastructure that make up specific applications or business processes, spanning not only network elements, hosts, servers and programs but also users, company structure and processes. The design including: a series of collector modules for collecting relationship, modeling and status information from IT specific sources used to build a model of the application or process in the database and to gather data about activities occurring on the computer network from a business impact perspective; a series of visualizer modules for reporting monitoring activities; a modeling database for storing information collected by the collector modules; a series of correlator modules for automatically determining relationships between data objects stored in the database to build application models of individual applications.

Abstract: A merge application creates a particular set of documents for a particular matter. The merge application receives a selection of a particular master template corresponding to the particular set of documents, where the selected master template specifies a plurality of slave templates, and also receives a selection of a data structure from a database with data relating to the particular matter. The selected master template and the selected data structure are employed to produce the set of documents for the particular matter in an electronic form, where a corresponding document of the set is produced for each specified slave template in the selected master template. Each corresponding document is produced according to common content in the slave template and data in the selected data structure in the database referred to by placeholders in the slave template.

Abstract: A method for a dynamically configurable imaging process, including: inputting, using a graphical user interface for at least one first specially programmed computer, computer instructions for executing at least one image processing task; creating template type information using the computer instructions and a first processor for the first computer, the template type information in a database; retrieving, using a second processor for at least one second specially programmed computer, the template type information from the database; inserting, using the second processor, the template type information into a service flow for a first imaging process; and executing, using the second processor, the template type information such that the computer instructions for the at least one image processing task are implemented as part of the service flow for the first imaging process.

Abstract: A processor is operated to combine a first row of a dimension table in a data warehouse with a second row in the dimension table. The result is a combined row that includes a row identification key for the first row and a row identification key for the second row. The row identification key for the first row joins the combined row to fact data from a prior time period. The second row corresponds to a current time period that is later than the prior time period. The processor is also operated to join at least a portion of the combined row to at least a portion of the corresponding row in a fact table associated with the dimension table. The fact data from the prior time period is included in the corresponding row in the fact table.

Abstract: A method for detecting an information item within an information sequence obtained from a digital medium, said information item comprising any one of a specified set of prestored information items, comprising: transforming each of the set of prestored information items into a respective representation, in accordance with a predetermined transformation format; transforming the information sequence obtained from the digital medium, in accordance with the transformation format; and determining the presence of one or more of the prestored information items within the transformed information sequence, utilizing the respective representation, wherein the information items are divided into sets, and applying a security policy that depends on the number of detected information items that belong to the same set.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention detect inadvertent or malicious data corruption and for recovering data including receiving a query specifying corrupted application data; analyzing transaction logs to find update operations related to the data; determining where the data are stored, by mapping the table data to locations within the file system and mapping the file system locations to volume logical blocks; and analyzing snapshot volume bitmaps to determine if the bitmaps show changes to the table data stored in the volume logical blocks. Changes which are reflected in the bitmaps for the data, but which do not have corresponding entries in the transaction logs are flagged as unauthorized changes. Snapshots of the data, from a time prior to the time at which a flagged snapshot was taken, are identified for use in restoring data to its status prior to the unauthorized change.

A wind direction-based/atmospheric stability-based classification unit (103) classifies the respective airflow field data into cases covering different combinations of wind directions and atmospheric stabilities.

The user input includes a plurality of parts. Each part includes a specification of a source (such as a type source), optionally a filter, and a projection. Each projection assigns values to table columns. Based on the plurality of parts received, the method includes generating one or more views. The one or more views describe relationships between model extents and database tables.

Abstract: An improved image tagging system that tags images in a mobile handheld communications device, based on the user's contacts list stored therein. The image tagging system compares a face in a given picture (that the user has just taken using the built-in camera) to faces in the user's contacts list images. A matching contact is found in the contacts list. The picture is then tagged with information from the matching contact. The picture is tagged by inserting identification information into a header of the picture.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of systems and methods for prioritizing mobile media player files by providing for the automated addition and/or deletion of media items for a mobile media player. In some embodiments, a statistical method may be provided for inferring which media items on a mobile media player should be deleted based on, for example, user taste data. In some embodiments, new media items may be loaded onto a user's mobile media player by creating one or more playlists from a playlist builder. The playlist(s) may be created by using user taste data. Rankings may also be created to determine an order for deletion of the media items currently on a mobile media player and/or for addition of new media items to the device.

Abstract: A merge application creates a particular set of documents for a particular matter. The merge application receives a selection of a particular master template corresponding to the particular set of documents, where the selected master template specifies a plurality of slave templates, and also receives a selection of a data structure from a database with data relating to the particular matter. The selected master template and the selected data structure are employed to produce the set of documents for the particular matter in an electronic form, where a corresponding document of the set is produced for each specified slave template in the selected master template. Each corresponding document is produced according to common content in the slave template and data in the selected data structure in the database referred to by placeholders in the slave template.

Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a software QA test repository in a database system. These mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a QA test repository can enable embodiments to quickly and accurately update a test repository without requiring a user to repeatedly enter test case documentation data. These mechanisms and methods for automatically updating a QA test repository can also enable embodiments to extract plain language descriptions of test cases in the test repository. The ability of embodiments to automatically update the test repository and provide descriptions for the test cases stored in the test repository allows developers to efficiently update and share the contents of the test repository.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides a method, comprising capturing context information of a user and using heuristics based on a common knowledge database to turn location tracked over time combined with the context information into semantic location information. Embodiments of the present invention may further provide creating and identifying said heuristics and wherein trace data of GPS coordinates are obtained continuously throughout the user's day and first clustered to identify interesting locations, then up-leveled to a street address or business name and then semantically interpreted in one of several categories.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to validating an aggregate document. An instance signature can be generated for a first instance of a data page retrieved for inclusion in the aggregate document and can be compared to a baseline signature associated with a second instance of the data page. A similarity value can be calculated in response to the comparison. The similarity value indicates a degree of similarity between the first instance and the second instance of the data page. Based on the similarity value it can be determined whether to delete or bypass the data page in the aggregate document.

A client root model of fragments is marked with annotations in response to triggers received by an application of the device. Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for providing predictive contacts. A system configured to practice the method first analyzes a communication history and a current usage context of a user. Based on the analysis, the system ranks contacts that the user is likely to communicate with from a list of contacts to yield ranked contacts. The system identifies a respective motive for ranking each contact, and presents a predictive list of contacts based at least in part on the ranked contacts, wherein each ranked contact in the predictive list of contacts includes at least part of the respective motive. The system can update the predictive list of contacts in real time as the current usage context changes. The communication history can include, for example, emails, instant messages, phone calls, video conferences, and calendar events. The motive can include a user interaction history with a particular contact.

Abstract: An online video advertising platform and marketplace. The present invention enables sellers to enhance the way they market products by providing them with a platform that uses location, images, product information, and Internet video. Because images and text are static and videos are dynamic, a seller can better represent their product and receive a better price and quicker sale as a result of the dynamic presentation. The marketplace uses both a database and “cloud computing” file storage system. So when a new user is created, there is both an entry in the database, and file structure with the username or other unique identifier in the file system. The database then stores pointers to these files. All listings are tied to a central product (listing) Id (PID). Videos can be searched for by both video and product related metrics. Videos file themselves are tagged with product metadata.

When an entry is made, the entry is checked for consistency with previously-made entries and with rules for portfolio entries. If an error is detected, the system alerts users to the error and also provides signals to check for further errors. The user may be made aware of the error or errors through a user interface.

A document or a corpus of electronic documents may be analyzed to identify entities and relationships among entities within the text of the document(s). Assertions are identified based on the entities and relationships among the entities. Each assertion represents a fact about an entity, and a group of assertions represents a summary of the document or document corpus. The assertions are inverted to generate questions that may be answered by the assertions. The questions may be further analyzed to identify relevant concepts and topics and to cluster the questions around the concepts and topics. A combined graph may also be generated that facilitates traversal among topics, concepts, questions, assertions, document summaries, and documents.

The requirements are developed and documented using a template-based method and software tool which helps authors write logically correct requirements. The requirements development method includes scanning a requirement for data variables, and ensuring that such variables are used in a consistent way from one requirement to another. The method also ensures that all resultant requirements will have the same format, which improves readability and proper interpretation by others. The result is that requirements developed using this method and software tool are assured of being clear, concise and accurate.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating a reference location data set, such as a reference longitude and latitude point, for each of a plurality of point addresses. A reference location data set can be determined for a point address based on a history of prior geocode samples, such as GPS readings, that have been obtained using a portable computing device during a prior delivery to or pickup from the point address. A location data service collects such geocode samples and processes the samples to generate a reference location data set, such as a reference longitude and latitude and a zone of confidence around the reference longitude and latitude, for each unique point address. To determine whether an item is being delivered to a wrong address, current location data obtained during a delivery can be compared against the reference location data generated by the location data service for the delivery address.

The pattern comparison circuit is operable to compare a subset of the first set of data samples with a subset of a second set of data samples corresponding to the region of interest. The pattern comparison circuit is operable to yield a match value corresponding to a degree of similarity between the first set of data samples with the subset of a second set of data samples. The threshold comparison circuit is operable to indicate an anchor point based at least in part on the magnitude of the match value relative to a threshold value.

Abstract: A mobile device communicates position samples of one or more reference position with respect to one or more other communication device such as access points to a location server communicatively coupled to a reference database. The location server determines whether to utilize the one or more reference position in the reference position database based on the communicated samples. The mobile device scans the position samples, which indicate position information of the one or more other communication device and/or whether the position information is reliable for use. The scanned position samples are accumulated and transmitted to the location server. The location server updates records for the one or more reference positions with respect to the one or more other communication device in the reference position database based on the accumulated position samples received. The updated records are utilized to determine a fast position fix for the position device.

Using the interactive view, a user may perform search and analysis of information organized with a knowledge management tool in conjunction with contextual information. The relational data element view may provide a relational visualization that displays data elements provided with the knowledge management tool as narrowed by the context of a user analysis. The contextual view may provide a depiction of the same data elements using a similar context. The relational data element view and the contextual view may be operated in coordination to maintain cohesiveness and similar context of the information displayed in the views.

Abstract: Systems and methods recommend documents or directories in an enterprise context by analyzing use proximity in the organizational hierarchy to find similar users. Evidence may be used from different sources to gage the degree of interest a user may have in a document. Such pieces of evidence may include viewing page thumbnails, viewing the document online, or printing, saving, or bookmarking the document. To make managing these different sources of evidence from users related by different degrees tractable, a model may be created where evidence values decay by different amounts over time and are combined with different weights. Additionally, these systems and methods also can make use of the directory structure of the document space to recommend directories as well as individual documents.

In one example, a data delineation process delineates data targeted for de-duplication into regions using a plurality of markers. The de-duplication system determines which of these regions should be subject to further de-duplication processing by comparing metadata representing the regions to metadata representing regions of a reference data set. The de-duplication system identifies an area of data that incorporates the regions that should be subject to further de-duplication processing and de-duplicates this area with reference to a corresponding area within the reference data set.

In one method, the method receives, at a computing system, one or more data objects from a user. The method further extracts one or more internal and external parameters based on the one or more data objects. Abstract: A music recommendation method and a computer readable recording medium storing a computer program performing the method are provided. In the music recommendation method, music items and rating data matrix comprising ratings and user IDs are first provided. Then, the ratings of each music item are classified into positive ratings and negative ratings. Thereafter, a pre-processing phase comprising a frame-based clustering step and a sequence-based clustering step is performed to transform the music items into perceptual patterns. Then, a prediction phase is performed to determine an interest value of a plurality of target music items for an active user. Thereafter, the target music items arranged into a music recommendation list in accordance with the first interest value and the second interest values, wherein the music recommendation list is a reference for the active user to select one of the target items.
