Based on the acknowledgement, an indication that the business object data is stored in a repository is generated. Processing of the business object data to enable storage in the repository continues while generating such indication.

Abstract: Systems and methods of indexing for deduplication are disclosed. An example method includes providing a first table in a first storage and a second table in a second storage. The method also includes looking up a key in the first table. If the key is not found in the first table, the key is looked up in the second table. If the key is found in the second table, the key is copied from the second table to the first table. If the entry is not found or in the second table, an entry with the key is inserted in the first table. The method also includes applying an operation to the entry associated with the key in the first table. The method also includes merging data of the first table with data of the second table when the first table is full to produce a new version of the second table that replaces a previous version.

Abstract: The present invention utilizes location based wireless technology in a wireless network to dynamically automate the accuracy of location information provided to requesting parties based on external criteria, e.g., the time of day. The location information may be altered by removing particular parts (e.g., by removing street information, or city information), or by mathematically loosening the accuracy of the location of the particular wireless user.

Abstract: Computer-readable media, computer systems, and computing methods are provided for classifying search results as either of good quality or of poor quality. Initially, a portion of the search results, such as the highest ranked documents, are selected for evaluation. A level of quality for each of the selected search results is determined using a classification process that includes the following steps: targeting features demonstrated by the selected search results to be evaluated; evaluating the selected features to generate a level-of-quality score for each of the selected search results; comparing the score against a predefined threshold value; and, based on the comparison, assigning each of the selected search results an absolute measurement. The absolute measurement indicates poor quality when the score is less than the threshold value. Upon recognizing that the selected search results are of poor quality, automatically executing a corrective action that reformulates the issued search query.

Abstract: A data marketplace infrastructure allows a data source company or a third party to associate to a data feed with a customizable preview application having analytic and visual features (e.g., business logic and a user interface). A potential customer can use discovery services of the data marketplace infrastructure to identify one or more data feeds offering sample data in a domain of interest of the potential customer. The data feed can transmit the customizable preview application to allow the potential customer to interact with the data from the data feed before purchasing the data. The potential customer may also customize the preview application so as to change the default application behavior in a manner that improves the potential customer's understanding and appreciation of the data feed.

Abstract: A system and method for capturing and replaying content is provided. The invention includes a base content source, a user system and resources. The invention provides for a knowledge embedding component to provide information associated with the base content. Further, a capturing component captures base content and/or information related to the base content for replay. The invention further provides for a personalization component to filter base content and/or information associated with base content based on a type of user, type of information, historical information and/or personal information.

The information processing device includes a data processor in communication with the data base. The data processor includes application software having an algorithm operable for comparing the first and second attribute data and identifying matches therebetween.

Abstract: The present invention provides a computer-implemented software tool that is adapted to listen continuously to data streams from a drilling operation and to process the data to generate a situation description for a current drilling situation in a form useful for automated continuous matching with a set of past cases stored in a knowledge database. The invention implements a case-based reasoning (CBR) approach to match the current drilling situation as defined by the situation description with one or more stored past cases having a degree of similarity above a predetermined threshold level. Matching cases are displayed to the drilling engineer as symbols on a case “radar”, allowing the drilling engineer to retrieve and view the details of a past case and take appropriate action based on drilling advice provided within the past case.

Abstract: A method and system of comparing data sets related to personality traits to identify various comparison results. The method and system include determining, by a processing device, a plurality of data sets. The data sets include information related to a self-evaluation report for a first user based upon the first user's answers to a set of questions. The data sets also include information related to anonymous, aggregated data received from other users. The first user may select a context for performing a comparison of two or more of the data sets, including a self-evaluation report, an aggregated public perception of the first user, or an aggregated public perception of another user. The system performs the comparison to produce comparison results. The comparison results provide the first user with information related to their individual personality and/or information related to an existing or potential relationship between the first user and another user.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to determine audience engagement indices associated with media presentations are disclosed. An example method involves determining an Internet engagement indice based on a quantity of messages posted on an Internet service and containing a keyword associated with a media presentation. The example method also involves determining a composite engagement indice based on the Internet engagement indice and a survey engagement indice based on a survey of panel members exposed to the media presentation.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide a Web browser that employs a relevancy algorithm to make an educated guess as to the likelihood of a user's intended destination when the user begins to enter text into a browser's address bar. In one or more embodiments, the relevancy algorithm employs various parameters and assigns weights to the parameters to arrive at a collection of suggestions to provide to the user. By using various rules, associated weightings, and the relevancy algorithm, relevant suggestions can be provided to a user to facilitate their navigation activities.

Abstract: A check engine includes a plurality of comparators each including a first directional characteristic aligned to store at least one reference bit included in a set of reference bits, and a second directional characteristic aligned to present at least one target bit included in a set of target bits. Each of the plurality of comparators is configured to produce an output representing a level of matching between the at least one target bit and the at least one reference bit, based on a relative alignment between the first directional characteristic and the second directional characteristic. The check engine is configured such that the outputs of the plurality of comparators are combined to produce a combined output. The check engine is configured to determine that the set of target bits matches the set of reference bits based on the combined output of the plurality of comparators.

Abstract: A system and method for developing a user's profile based on the user's interaction with content items. A module on the client rendering the content items or the service including the content items tracks the user's interactions with the content items and transmits the tracked data to a user analysis module. The user analysis module determines the topics associated with the interacted upon content items. The user analysis module then selects the topics for the user's profiles based on the received tracked data and the associated topics. The selected topics are stored in association with the user profile.

Abstract: A method of generating a customised map comprises: taking first, map data for generating a map; taking second, asset data, the asset data comprising a plurality of asset locations on the map and the locations having a label associated therewith; and applying the asset data to the map data to produce an initial labelled map. One or more predetermined rules is applied to the labels to determine whether any group of labels on the initial labelled map is in conflict. For those groups of labels determined to be in conflict, an algorithm is applied to move one or more of the labels in the pair or group to remove or reduce the conflict.

Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for identifying key phrases within documents. Embodiments of the invention include using a tag index to determine what a document primarily relates to. For example, an integrated data flow and extract-transform-load pipeline, crawls, parses and word breaks large corpuses of documents in database tables. Documents can be broken into tuples. The tuples can be sent to a heuristically based algorithm that uses statistical language models and weight+cross-entropy threshold functions to summarize the document into its “top N” most statistically significant phrases. Accordingly, embodiments of the invention scale efficiently (e.g., linearly) and (potentially large numbers of) documents can be characterized by salient and relevant key phrases (tags).

Abstract: The overall architecture and details of a scalable video fingerprinting and identification system that is robust with respect to many classes of video distortions is described. In this system, a fingerprint for a piece of multimedia content is composed of a number of compact signatures, along with traversal hash signatures and associated metadata. Numerical descriptors are generated for features found in a multimedia clip, signatures are generated from these descriptors, and a reference signature database is constructed from these signatures. Query signatures are also generated for a query multimedia clip. These query signatures are searched against the reference database using a fast similarity search procedure, to produce a candidate list of matching signatures. This candidate list is further analyzed to find the most likely reference matches. Signature correlation is performed between the likely reference matches and the query clip to improve detection accuracy.

Abstract: A method for tagging media content captured by a portable electronic device is disclosed. The method comprises determining a time for capturing of a piece of media content; connecting, via the Internet, to at least one bulletin service; acquiring from the at least one bulletin service, a data string indicating information associated with the determined time; and including the data string into metadata associated with the piece of media content. Abstract: An educational institution (also referred as a university) is structurally modeled using a university model graph. Such a model helps compare educational institutions at various levels—university level, department level, faculty member level, or student level. One of the requirements of comparison is to normalize the similarities and identify and elaborate the differences across multiple educational institutions. A way to achieve this is to model the educational institutions using comparable elements; specifically, the university model graph allows for such comparison as multiple educational institutions are modeled based on the same set of concepts and notions. A system and method for comparing educational institutions based on their respective university model graphs is discussed.

Abstract: Improved techniques for automatic (or dynamic) updating (or maintaining) of playlists for a media system that stores and plays media content for a user of the media system. The automatic update to playlists can occur when additional media content is added to or removed from the media system. The automatic update to playlists can also occur when previously stored media content is otherwise altered.

In at least one further embodiment, the method includes the development and publication of the agents.

Abstract: Systems and methods for loading XML documents on demand are described. The system provides a Wrapper class for the XML Document class and the Element class. A user application then utilizes the Wrapper class in the same way that the Element class and Document class would be used to access any element in the XML Document. The Wrapper class loads external components as required. The external component retrieval is completely transparent to the user application and the user application is able to access the entire XML document as if it were completely loaded into a DOM object in memory. Accordingly, each element is accessible in a random manner. In one configuration, the XML document components or external components are stored in a database in a BLOB field as a Digital Document. The system uses external components to efficiently use resources as compared to systems using Xlink and external entities.

Abstract: A media broker comprises a communication interface and a controller associated with the communication interface configured to receive a request from a user to record a requested media item. The media broker proceeds to query an aggregated stored content list (ASCL) including information indicative of each of the media items stored on one or more media storage device communicatively coupled to the media broker to determine if the requested media item is stored on the one or more media storage devices. If it is determined that the requested media item is stored on the one or more media storage devices the user that requested the media item is informed and the media item is stored on the one or more media storage devices. Conversely, if it is determined that the requested media item is not stored on the one or more media storage devices, the requested media item is recorded.

Abstract: A system for providing a recommended customized profile to a subject member of a social network for use in operating a subject customizable apparatus is described. The system includes a social network database storing profiles of members of the social network corresponding to multiple customizable apparatus including the subject customizable apparatus. The system also includes a central social network server having a processor and a tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to generate the recommended customized profile, for use by the subject member in operation of the subject customizable apparatus, based on at least one matching profile of other members in the social network.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for comparing annotations in files to show changes in the annotations at a granular level. In one implementation, a system receives a first file and a second file for comparison. The system determines the annotation ranges for each annotation in the first file and the annotation range for each annotation in the second file. The system then determines the annotations from the first file that overlap with annotations from the second file and compares annotations that overlap. The system then incorporates the comparison of the annotations into a main comparison file. In certain implementations, the system uses an index to determine what annotations overlap. In other implementations, matched pairs are created from overlapping annotations.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to organizing reporting data from various sources such as frames into a storyboard view with additional metadata that is specific to the storyboard and to sharing and/or exporting a storyboard sequence of reporting frames. In an embodiment, a computer system accesses various portions of reporting data. The reporting data includes source data, relevant data states and metadata describing properties of the associated report. The computer system organizes the reporting data into multiple reporting frames according to various organizing criteria. Each reporting frame is incorporated into a storyboard interface. The computer system also displays the storyboard interface which includes each of the reporting frames organized according the organizing criteria.

Abstract: A system for generating personalized channels of multimedia content. The system comprises an interface to one or more multimedia sources, wherein the multimedia sources provide multimedia content to the personalized channels of multimedia content; and a server for receiving multimedia content from the one or more multimedia sources through the interface and for serving selected multimedia content to users of the system over one or more of the personalized channels; wherein a user of the system receives personalized multimedia content gathered by the server into the one or more of the personalized channels responsive of preferences of the user as observed by the system for the user.

Abstract: An input correction system based on translation search and the method thereof are provided. The invention searches a translation word according to a search message. When the translation word does not exist, the search message is compared with all similar messages in order to locate a matched word message. The word message is then taken as the search message to search the translation word again. The mechanism improves the convenience in searching for translation words.

Abstract: A playlist can be generated based on a chart or list including ranked media items, e.g. songs, videos, etc., by automatically including the highest ranked media items to the playlist, but only adding some of the lower ranked media items to the playlist. A particular lower-ranked media item can be pseudo-randomly excluded from the playlist if that media item has a ranking in a current version of the chart that is lower than its ranking in a previous version. Once the desired number of media items has been added to an intermediate list, the intermediate list can be inverted, and station identifiers can be interspersed between the media items.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to generating a subset aggregate document from an existing aggregate document. Data pages in an existing aggregate document that satisfy node selection criteria are identified. An aggregate document slice is created that includes the data pages that satisfy the node selection criteria. Connections between the data pages from the existing aggregate document to the aggregate document slice are imported to form at least one continuous path with the data pages.

Abstract: Methods, systems and program products for replacing a master media file. Data indicates characteristics of a first user's multiple media files. At least one of the multiple media files matches content in a master media file. The content in the matching media file is of a second quality that is higher than the first quality of the master media file. A server system stores the matching media file in place of the master media file. The server system receives a request from a second user for content matching the master media file, and accesses quality parameters that indicate the second user can access a version of the content at a third quality that is less than the second quality. A media file that contains the requested content at the third quality is generated and sent to the second user.

Abstract: An apparatus, and an associated method, facilitates selection of a media file for play-out at a media player, such as a media player forming part of a wireless device. Prioritization criteria is used to prioritize a plurality of media files according to a prioritization criteria. And, once prioritized, a playlist is established. A matching analysis is performed between a first entity name (e.g., business entity name) and a second entity name. The matching analysis comprises comparing a first entity category descriptor that has been amended into the first entity name with a second entity category descriptor that has been amended into the second entity name. If a match is identified in the category descriptors, the first and second entity names may comprise the same entity.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a method and system called “Universal Learner (UL),” which provides a unified framework to understand multimedia signals. The UL utilizes the loosely annotated multimedia data on the Web, analyses it in various signal domains, such as text, image, audio and combinations thereof, and builds an association graph called the “Multimedia Brain,” which basically comprises visual signals, audio signals, text phrases and the like that capture a multitude of objects, experiences and their attributes and the links among them that capture similar intent or functional and contextual relationships.

Abstract: Integration applications and methods non-programmatically collect application data from a mapped source reference of an application. The integration application retrieves at least one of a document and a list of documents associated with the first collected application data for display on a user interface and monitors the collected application data from the mapped location for a difference with a subsequently collected application data. Upon detecting a difference, the integration application removes at least one of a document and the list of documents from the user interface. The integration application may automatically notify a user of the difference using a visual indicator or an audio signal. The integration application may modify the appearance of at least one of a document and the list of documents on a user interface.

Abstract: A system and method of recommending and rating content and/or for generating a determined affinity between content consumers and reviewers. The method includes determining a rating for one or more user-surveyed content items and determining a rating for one or more reviewer-surveyed content items for each of a plurality of content reviewers. Comparisons are then performed between user ratings and reviewer ratings for commonly surveyed content items. As a result, affinities between user(s) and content reviewers are established and the user is provided with reviews and ratings produced by high-affinity content reviewers.

Abstract: A adaptive object identification mechanism provides an object description of an object of an application that is executed by a processor, where the object description is based on attributes associated with the object. When an operation on the object is detected, the attributes of the object are sampled at the time of the operation and compared with the object description to assess whether the attributes have changed. The object description is then adjusted based on the assessment.

Abstract: A method for identifying multi-media assets from a multi-media collection, and the method implemented at least in part by a data processing system and comprising the steps of: receiving a search query, the search query, or a derivative thereof, including a possessive phrase, wherein the possessive phrase includes a possessor and a possession category; identifying a denoted object referred to by the possessive phrase using a predefined relationship database that establishes social relationships between objects; identifying one or more additional possessors of the denoted object using the predefined relationship database; generating one or more additional possessive phrases for the denoted objects relating the identified additional possessors to the denoted object; and identifying one or more multi-media assets from the multi-media collection containing the denoted object responsive to the one or more additional possessive phrases.
