For each of multiple intervals of time, a matching procedure is attempted on sets of one or more records, including comparing identifiers associated with different records to generate the sets and determining whether or not a completeness criterion is satisfied for one or more of the sets. The processing also includes, for at least some of the intervals of time, processing at least one complete set, consisting of one or more of the received records on which the matching procedure is first attempted during the interval of time and one or more records stored in a data store before the interval of time, and for at least some of the intervals of time, processing at least one incomplete set, consisting of one or more records stored in the data store before the interval of time.

Abstract: Implementing business intelligent in-document suggestion may include detecting a content that a user is inputting into a document or selecting from the document. Based on the content, a key word may be extracted to generate a query. The query may be transmitted to an enterprise search engine for enterprise intelligence. Based on returned search results, a suggestion may be generated and presented to a user device by integrating the suggestion into the document. In some embodiments, the suggestion may include a people suggestion, a document suggestion, a phrase suggestion and a document template suggestion. In some embodiments, adding an additional content or selecting a subset of the content may refine the suggestion.

Abstract: A performance analysis system that analyzes the performance of a business intelligence analytics application is provided. The performance analysis system logs data associated with one or more queries of a database within the database. The performance analysis system further generates performance data based on an analysis of the logged data, where the performance data includes data associated with one or more performance metrics of each query. The performance analysis system further generates one or more performance queries of the performance data, where a response to each performance query includes at least a portion of the one or more performance metrics stored within the database.

Abstract: Method, system, and computer program product to archive data objects, by providing an object store and a shadow object store each configured to store one or more data objects, the object store and the shadow object store residing in different storage devices, creating a first object stored in the object store, the first object having at least one attribute, and responsive to receiving a request to archive the first object, transferring the first object to the shadow object store, and creating, in the object store, a reference to a location of the first object in the shadow object store, the first object remaining accessible through the object store and the shadow object store following the transfer.

Abstract: Various embodiments include at least one of systems, methods, and software for product notice monitoring. Some embodiments include at least one product notice database that is an aggregation of product notices, such as product recalls, bulletins, safety notices, updated usage guidelines, and the like, that may be issued by various different sources. The product notice database is monitored in such embodiments in view of products of an organization to identify possible matches. When a possible match is identified, the notice is provided to the organization. Some embodiments may include routing the notice to particular people or departments responsible for the relevant product(s) of the notice. The matching in some embodiments may be relative matching based on one or more forms of fuzzy logic, which allows for approximate matching, although not necessarily identical. The product notice monitoring may be performed in whole or in part in the cloud.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is generally related to including a download option of a software module from within a search results page. In response to receiving a search query from a user, search results responsive to the search query are identified. The search query is analyzed to detect an intent to download a software module. If an intent to download a software module is detected, a search results page is generated from the search results and further includes a user-actionable control for initiating a process for downloading a corresponding software module to a target computer associated with the user.

Abstract: Techniques for facilitating a similarity search of digital assets (e.g., audio files, image files, video files, etc.) are described. Consistent with some embodiments, a cloud-based search service manages one or more search tree data structures for use in organizing digital assets to make the digital assets searchable. Each digital asset is associated with a feature vector based on the various attributes and/or characteristics of the digital asset. The digital assets are then assigned to leaf nodes in one or more search tree data structures based on a measure of the distance between the feature vector of the digital asset and a virtual feature vector associated with a leaf node. When a search for similar digital assets is invoked, a prioritized breadth first search of a search tree is performed to identify the digital assets having the feature vectors closest in distance to the reference digital asset.

Abstract: Video entity templates defining common features that relate to various metadata types shared among a group of video Web pages are generated for target Web sites. Metadata associated with videos contained within Web pages belonging to a particular target Web site can then be automatically and accurately extracted using a video entity template generated for the particular target Web site. This metadata can then be indexed for use by video search applications in providing video search results.

Abstract: A system including an associative memory comprising a plurality of data and a plurality of associations among the plurality of data. The plurality of data is collected into associated groups. The associative memory is configured to be queried based on at least indirect relationships among the plurality of data. The system also includes an input device in communication with the associative memory. The input device is configured to receive a query to compare entities in the associative memory. The system also includes a coordinator in communication with the associative memory. The coordinator is configured to compare the entities to identify a similar attribute value among the entities. The coordinator is further configured to identify a differentiator among the entities.

Abstract: Implementing query classification includes receiving a core term from a search query responsive to execution of a first module. The first module searches a table for the core term and yields a first result. The query classification also includes receiving a second result from the search query responsive to execution of a second module. The second module searches an index of terms that are mapped to documents and corresponding categories in the index. The second result is indicative of one of the corresponding categories in the index based on a probability score. Upon determining the first result is a category associated with the core term in the table, the query classification also includes calculating a weighted average for the first result and the second result. The calculation yields a third result. The query classification further includes transmitting the third result to a computer device that generated the query.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for implementing a windowed mid-tier data cache. A request is received for a data page comprising a set of data rows from a result set of a query in a database management system (“DBMS”). A determination is made whether the requested data rows exist in the mid-tier cache. If the requested rows exist in the cache, then the set of data rows is retrieved from the cache and the requested data page is returned. If the requested rows do not exist in the cache, a data chunk comprising a number of data rows from the result set larger than and encompassing the requested rows is requested from the DBMS. Upon receiving the data chunk, the data chunk is stored in the mid-tier cache, and the set of data rows are retrieved from the cache and the requested data page is returned.

Abstract: A method includes receiving primary content, wherein the primary content includes a video program. The method also includes identifying attributes of the primary content, identifying secondary content based on the identified attributes of the primary content, and indexing the primary content to the secondary content. The method also includes identifying a primary user device associated with the primary content and an associated secondary user device. A request for secondary content may be received from the secondary user device. The method further includes providing the secondary content at the secondary user device synchronized with receipt of the primary content at the primary user device.

Abstract: In one example embodiment, a method is implemented to relink a data item. The method includes identifying that a data item, referenced by a referencing document, is absent from a data item location for the data item indicated by the referencing document. User preference data, indicating a designated relink location to search for absent data items, is accessed. The relink location is searched for the absent data items. Another example embodiment may include a method to relink a current data item to a replacement data item location by accessing user preference data and searching a relink location for a replacement data item in accordance with the relink location indicated by the user preference data.

Abstract: A dental-based identification system for identification of individuals comprises a database configured to maintain a record of each individual registered in the system, wherein each record includes at least an identification (ID) number included in a dental-based identification tag and identification information of the individual, wherein the ID number uniquely identifies the individual; and an identification server configured to receive a radiograph of at least one tooth to which the dental-based identification tag is bonded, to detect the ID number included in the dental-based identification tag, and to search a recording associated with the detected ID number, wherein the identification server is further configured to generate and send a message upon identification of the individual.

Abstract: A method in an example embodiment includes creating a first search key from variable data of a message received in a network environment, creating a second search key from constant data of the message, identifying a first database entry in a first database based on the first search key, and identifying a second database entry in a second database based on the second search key. The method can also include performing an action associated with the first database entry when a correlation is identified between the first and second database entries. In specific embodiments, the variable data are modified and the constant data are not modified. The first search key can be created prior or subsequent to forwarding the message. In further embodiments, the correlation is identified when an offset of the first database entry is the same as an offset of the second database entry.

The system assigns the plurality of locations to project management data stored within a memory, wherein the project management data comprises a plurality of projects, a plurality of activities, and a plurality of resources, and the locations are assigned to the plurality of projects, activities, and resources. The system receives a request to retrieve project management data with assigned locations that meet a geographic criteria. The system retrieves project management data that meets the geographic criteria.

The contextual information is provided to an asset application that facilitates access to a plurality of assets, the contextual information to allow the asset application to interact with respective further asset applications executing on further devices within the context.

Abstract: A function module allows fuzzy searching of data stored in an environment lacking inherent fuzzy search capability, by leveraging a native fuzzy search capability of an underlying database. The function module receives the data that is to be searched, as well as search terms/parameters. The function module creates a temporary table in the database, populates the table with the corresponding data, and executes the fuzzy search on the table according to the terms/parameters utilizing the database layer's native fuzzy search capability. After returning the fuzzy search result, the function module removes the table from the database. One embodiment implements the function module with the Advanced Business Application Program (ABAP) environment available from SAP AG, which lacks an inherent ability to perform fuzzy searching. That function module leverages native fuzzy search capability of an underlying in-memory HANA database architecture database available from SAP AG.

Abstract: A method including receiving input identifying a panel associated with a software application, the software application including a Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the panel comprising a discrete area of the GUI within which to group software objects to control the software application. Additionally, the method includes processing the input to identify an object of the software objects to be included in the panel. Further, the method includes generating a panel definition including the object and dimensions of the panel, the panel definition to be processed to render the GUI.

Abstract: A product identification service uses image analysis and user interaction. The product identification service includes functionality to compare a first portion of a retail product image to a plurality of candidate retail product images. The retail product image includes a pictorial likeness of a plurality of manufactured retail products. The first portion of the retail product image corresponds to a first retail product. The product identification service also includes functionality to generate a candidate product set comprising candidate retail product images satisfying image comparison criteria. Each candidate retail product image is representative of a retail product having a plurality of product characteristics. The product identification service also includes functionality to determine, based on at least one candidate retail product image in the candidate product set, one or more product identity queries configured to solicit additional product identity information from a user.

Abstract: Techniques for estimating, in real time, the likelihood that any particular member of a social network service is a third degree connection of another member are described. Consistent with some embodiments, various member profile attributes of a member are used as a sort of proxy for determining the likelihood or probability that the member is a third degree connection of another member. For example, in some instances, the number of first-degree connections a member has is used to derive a probability score indicating the likelihood that the member is a third-degree connection of another member, such as a person performing a people-search. Once derived, the probability score for each member may be used in various applications, such as a people-search engine, to boost or increase a ranking score assigned to each search result and used to order the search results when presented to the user who has performed the search.

Abstract: A search result is re-ranked/re-ordered in a user-specific manner, where the search result comprises an ordered sequence of identifications of a plurality of network-accessible documents that match a search query, based on a model corresponding to a user who will view the search result. The model comprises keywords and relationships among them, according to how the user perceives relationships among the keywords. The re-ranking comprises changing an order of at least one of the identified plurality of network-accessible documents within the ordered sequence, responsive to comparing ones of the keywords in the model to the identifications of network-accessible documents. The search result is then rendered, as re-ranked, for the user. The relationships may have an associated bond strength, and the re-ranking comprises changing the order accordingly. Keywords from the model are preferably used to group the identifications during the re-ranking.

Abstract: In particular embodiments, a method includes receiving a structured query that included references to nodes and edges from a social graph, identifying target nodes that correspond to the structured query, and then generating search results that include target nodes with privacy settings where the nodes and edges along the path connecting the target node and the querying user are all visible to the user.

Abstract: A data model may be designed based views of a pre-existing data model. Metadata associated with the pre-existing data model may be presented to the user to support the user's design effort. The metadata may inform and otherwise guide the user's design choices to reduce the likelihood of inconsistencies between the new data model and the pre-existing data model. The metadata may also be used to identify and warn the user of potential inconsistencies between the new data model and the pre-existing data model.

Abstract: Techniques for encoded data processing which allow for continuous data processing as encoded data changes. Data is decomposed into one or more blocks with each block containing at least one data record. At least one data record within a given block is encoded with a first encoding process selected from one or more encoding processes. The first encoding process is associated with the given data block. Techniques evaluate whether or not to implement an encoding change for a given block when updating a given data record in the given block. Responsive to the evaluation, the given block is re-encoded with a second encoding process. Responsive to the re-encoding, the association of the given block is updated. A map is formed to convert the given data record encoded with the first encoding process to the second encoding process so as to preserve comparative relationships of the given data record.

Abstract: A trace header with an activity identifier is sent between a client and a database server as part of a request message stream. The activity identifier gets logged by client-side connection-related traces, by server-side traces, and by database engine traces. The activity identifier can be used to exactly correlate a thread on the client to threads on the server. Additionally, specific threads within a database engine may be correlated using the activity identifier to track the threads that processed a particular request. This enhances troubleshooting of the database system, particularly when there are many concurrent users and threads.

Abstract: A method and system for mining a database for product migration analysis includes querying product usage data for a legacy product and a new product from the database as time series data. The product usage data is representative for a large number of consumers of the legacy and new products. A mathematical model may be used to determine a relationship between the two time series data. Product migration values and other features related to product migration, such as a transition period of product usage, may be estimated, determined or predicted.

Abstract: A method and system for searching an information retrieval system for items of interest that are in proximity to geographical locations provided by the user. The information retrieval system can perform a search for specified types of businesses or items of interest that surround or are in close proximity to the user's present geographical location, or a geographical location that the user has pre-configured in a database. The system receives geographical location information concerning the user's position from the wireless network carrier, which tracks the location of the user's mobile communications device. When the user desires to store a geographical location and geographical name for a future search, the information is entered into the pre-configured database. When conducting an information search at a later time, the user can narrow a search request to a geographical area in the vicinity of the stored geographical location.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for intelligent command prediction are provided. The method includes determining a command prediction preference associated with a user from user profile data, and selecting one or more command history repositories responsive to the command prediction preference. The one or more command history repositories include command history data collected from a plurality of users and classification data associated with the plurality of users. The method also includes calculating command probabilities for commands in the command history data of the selected one or more command history repositories as a function of the classification data associated with the plurality of users in relation to the user. The method additionally includes presenting a next suggested command as a command from the command history data of the selected one or more command history repositories with a highest calculated command probability.

Abstract: A computer hardware-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product identifies a null set of synthetic event containing electronic files in a database of electronic files. A synthetic event, which is a non-executable descriptor of a set of context-related factors, is created. A context-based search of a database of electronic files is performed to identify a synthetic event containing electronic file that includes the synthetic event. In response to determining that there are no electronic files in the database of electronic files that contain the synthetic event, a set of binary data is transmitted/broadcast. The set of binary data includes a notice that there are no synthetic event electronic files in the database of electronic files.

Abstract: According to example configurations as described herein, a workflow management application receives a set of interconnected flowchart elements defining a workflow. A particular flowchart element in the workflow represents a task to be jointly executed by one or more resources such as a computer, person, etc. To execute the particular flowchart element, the workflow management application obtains a list. The list can be dynamically generated during execution of the particular flowchart element. The list specifies the multiple users that are to jointly execute the task. The workflow management application can provide notification to the multiple users that the task is to be jointly executed by the multiple users. Additionally, the workflow management application provides, to each of the multiple users, a link to a user interface. The user interface provides further information to the multiple users and indicates details of how to carry out the task.

Abstract: A computer hardware-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product identifies non-synthetic event elements in electronic files. A first set of binary data that describes a synthetic event is received from a requesting computer. The synthetic event is a non-executable descriptor of a set of context-related factors. A processor performs a context-based search of a database of electronic files to identify a relevant electronic file, which includes the synthetic event. The processor then searches the relevant electronic file for at least one non-synthetic event element, which is absent from the synthetic event. In response to determining that the relevant electronic file comprises the non-synthetic event element, the processor transmits a second set of binary data to the requesting computer. This second set of binary data includes the relevant electronic file and a description of an identified non-synthetic event element in the relevant electronic file.

Abstract: Systems and methods of providing information via a computer network are provided. A data processing system can identify a cluster that includes a plurality of online content items having a semantic or user similarity. The data processing system determines a plurality of cluster placement criteria of the cluster, and receives content configured for display with a web page. The content can be associated with the cluster based on the semantic or user similarity. A cluster placement criterion of the plurality of cluster placement criteria can be selected based on a quality metric of the selected cluster placement criterion, and the selected cluster placement criterion can be provided as a supplemental criterion used to select the content for display with the web page.

Abstract: A method, computer program product, and system generating epigenetic cohorts for a specific time period through clustering of epigenetic surprisal data at a specific time comprising. receiving a phenotypic and/or demographic parameter and a cluster characteristics input from a user; searching the epigenetic surprisal data at a specific time for the parameter and storing matches in a repository; generating a cluster comprising a centroid for each parameter by populating the cluster based on the matches of the parameter with the epigenetic surprisal data at a specific time period; determining at least two epigenetic cohorts for a specific time period from the cluster for each parameter and based on the input from the user; and if the cohorts do not match the input of the user, reporting the cohorts determined to the user and returning to the step of receiving a parameter and characteristic input from a user.

Each online forum includes a thread having at least one user post. The system further includes a language processor in communication with the resource database and the destination database. The language processor associates the at least one user post with at least one of the plurality of customer inquiries and selects from the resource database at least one solution to the customer inquiry identified. The language processor further generates a new post in the online forum with content from the resource information responsive to the customer inquiry associated with the at least one user post.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for quickly providing Whois services to a new top level domain after it is provisioned in a registry. In one embodiment, domain data is received at a first system regarding a top level domain (TLD). The domain data is assigned an authoritative port of a Whois server and is provisioned in a registry database. In certain embodiments, the Whois server provides information relating to domain name registrations of the TLD in the database, according to the authoritative port. The Whois server determines that a Whois query is received at the authoritative port for the queried TLD and responds with the queried information. To the requester, the responses appear as if they are sent from a unique Whois server for each TLD, but the Whois server is actually shared among the TLDs.

Abstract: One exemplary embodiment involves generating a plurality of facets and descriptors of all items available via an electronic shop service based on the images depicting each of the items. The facets that may be generated include a color facet, a shape facet, a texture facet, and/or other facets. The embodiment further involves receiving search criteria from a user that includes a number of search criteria elements. Each element of the search criteria may be represented by an image. The embodiment involves generating a search criteria descriptor based on the images received in connection with the search criteria. Additionally, the embodiment involves identifying items associated with images that correspond with the search criteria descriptor and providing the images of the identified items in a user interface.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for searching chronologically stored related content objects for at least one requested search definition. The method includes retrieving a search request identifying the related content objects to be searched and the at least one requested search definition to be applied to the related content objects and determining whether any new related content objects have been stored after the searching has begun. If any new related content objects have been stored, one of the new related content objects is selected for searching and, if no new related content objects have been stored, an older stored related content object is selected for searching. The method also includes applying the at least one requested search definition to the content object selected for searching, and identifying which at least one requested search definition is found in the selected content object.

A method may include determining one or more result events to recommend to attend based upon, at least in part, at least one of: an indication of a location of a client computing device associated with a user, and an index associated with the event, the index based upon, at least in part, event content associated with the event. The method may also include ranking the one or more result events based upon, at least in part, at least one of: the index associated with the event and the indication of the location.

Abstract: A computer hardware-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product generate an activity recommendation based on an identified non-synthetic event element in an electronic file. A context-based search of a database of electronic files is performed to identify a common synthetic event in all of the electronic files, where the synthetic event is a non-executable descriptor of a set of context-related factors. Each electronic file that contains the common synthetic event is a relevant electronic file. Each of the relevant electronic files are searched for at least one non-synthetic event element, wherein the non-synthetic event element is an event element that is absent from the synthetic event. A recommendation, based on the identified non-synthetic event element, is generated. A set of binary data, which includes the synthetic event, the relevant electronic file, the non-synthetic event element, and the recommendation, is then transmitted to a client.
