  • Publication number: 20140214812
Abstract: A system is disclosed for using features of source code to provide more relevant search results in a timelier manner. The system includes at least one processor and a memory storing instructions configured to cause the system to calculate a priority score for each file in associated with a code repository. The priority score is based on at least one of a version score, a build status score, a momentum score, and a social score. The instructions may cause the system to store the priority score in a memory. The instructions may also cause the system to receive a search query, use the stored priority scores to identify files in the code repository responsive to the query, and generate data used to display the identified files. The display may include depictions of the scores used to calculate a priority score for the identified files.

  • Patent number: 8788511
Abstract: A system and associated method for manipulating a Siebel database (SDB) with a Structured Query Language (SQL) statement utilizes a SQL-eScript parser, which uses a business component (BC) on a Siebel data model of the SDB, which has data elements corresponding to the data elements of the SQL statement to be performed against the SDB. In the SDB, data of the SDB is stored in relational database tables, accesses to the SDB must utilize a BC which describes and references a part of the Siebel data model. The SQL-eScript parser enables users to access the SDB by use of the SQL statement by interpreting the SQL statement and automatically identifying and utilizing a BC on the Siebel data model having all data elements of the SQL statement and performing eScript BC methods corresponding to operations of the SQL statement in updating the SDB.

Abstract: Techniques for generating hash values for instances of distinct data values. In the techniques, each distinct data value is mapped to hash value generation information which describes how to generate a unique hash value for instances of the distinct data value. The hash value generation information for a distinct data value is then used to generate the hash value for an instance of the distinct data value. The hash value generation information may indicate whether a collision has occurred in generating the hash values for instances of the distinct data values and if so, how the collision is to be resolved. The techniques are employed to normalize RDF triples by generating the UIDS employed in the normalization from the triples' lexical values.

Abstract: A system is described that implements symmetrical object profiles across one or more objects, wherein an object profile is influenced by other object profiles with which it interacts. In particular, the system includes a configuration for a first object profile that is associated with a first object, wherein the first object profile comprises a set of attributes having a first set of valuations. The system includes a configuration for a second object profile that is associated with a second object, wherein the second object profile comprises said set of attributes having a second set of valuations. The system includes a profile updater for managing the first object profile and the second object profile, wherein in a transaction involving the first and second objects, corresponding object profiles are updated based on valuations in the first and second set of valuations.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product lemmatizes a phrase for a specific category. An initial phrase, which is associated with a specific category, is received by a processor. The processor removes a last letter or set of letters from a word in the initial phrase to form an initial truncated version of the phrase, and then runs a term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) algorithm on the initial truncated version of the phrase. The processor lemmatizes subsequent truncated versions of the initial phrase, and then runs the TF-IDF algorithm until a highest TF-IDF value is identified for a specific truncated version of the initial phrase when compared to TF-IDF values of other truncated versions of the initial phrase. The specific truncated version of the initial phrase that is associated with the highest TF-IDF value is then associated with the specific category.

Abstract: A system, method and computer-readable medium for ranking music items (songs, artists, albums, etc.) listed in a search result. The system may include a user database storing user-managed music items and a public database storing a universe of music items. A music ranking application configured to receive a search query, identify music items in response to the query, and provide a ranked result list to the user. Different characteristics of the music items are weighted to provide a score for the music item, the score indicating the relevance of the music item when compared to user data and universal data associated with the item. The weighted scores are used to determine the ranking of the music item and can be adjusted based on user feedback, resulting in an adjusted ranking of the music items listed in the search result.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject matter described herein relate to data collection. In aspects, when data is desired from one or more data sources, a size and/or other data regarding the data is obtained. Then, a data structure is generated that indicates multiple chunks of the data to obtain. Using the data structure and a query template, a query is generated to obtain a chunk of data. The obtained chunk of data is stored in a local store. If more chunks need to be obtained, first a wait for a period is performed before submitting another query for another chunk of data.

Abstract: Techniques for indexing file paths of items in a content repository may include taking turns in querying each different item type or folder type in a round robin schedule to visit select nodes of the folder tree of that type to update and maintain the file path indexes. Item types or folder types may be associated with a count of instances or children of instances that are missing indexes. For each item type or folder type, a query may be performed for instances of the item type or folder type having children that are missing indexes, the instances or children of the instances returned may be associated with file path indexes, and the count of instances or children of instances may be adjusted based on the associating.

Abstract: A method that allows users of telecommunications terminals to have relevant contact information presented to them without some of the disadvantages of the prior art is disclosed. In accordance with the illustrative embodiment of the present invention, a telecommunications terminal sends a query to a data-processing system requesting contact information, and that data-processing system aggregates contact information from itself and other sources. It then sorts that contact information and sends the sorted contact information back to the telecommunications terminal.

Abstract: A computer-readable recording medium stores therein an information retrieval program that causes a computer to execute a retrieval process in which files to be retrieved are narrowed down by using a bit string for each character in the files to find characters making up a retrieval keyword to retrieve a keyword identical to or related to the retrieval keyword in the files to be retrieved. The bit strings indicate the presence of the characters in the files. The information retrieval program causes the computer to execute extracting, from among the bit strings, a bit string of an arbitrary character; and compressing the extracted bit string, by using a special Huffman tree having leaves of plural types of symbol strings covering patterns represented by a predetermined number of bits and a special symbol string having a number of bits greater than the predetermined number of bits.

Abstract: The present invention includes a method for providing parameterized queries in complex event processing (CEP). The method includes providing a query template which includes one or more bind variables, providing sets of parameters corresponding to the one or more bind variables, and parsing the query template to determine positions of the one or more bind variables. The method further includes scanning the provided sets of parameters to determine which of the sets of parameters are to be bound to the one or more bind variables, binding the one or more bind variables which are determined to be bound to the sets of parameters, and substituting the bound one or more bind variables with the corresponding sets of parameters. The method further includes injecting all incarnations of the parameterized queries into the system, and one template/parameterized query is configured to run them all.

Abstract: A method of processing a query in a distributed database implemented across a set of nodes includes receiving a query. The query is divided into split characterization queries. The split characterization queries are distributed to worker nodes. Each worker node stores a partition of the distributed database with encoded textual objects and pre-defined indices characterizing encoded textual object fragments. The split characterization queries are executed at the worker nodes to obtain preliminary information about query results. Executing the split characterization queries includes matching query fragments associated with the split characterization queries with encoded textual object fragments of the pre-defined indices to produce fragment matches representative of the size of the query results. For each split characterization query the preliminary information about query results includes a fragment count, a database partition identification, and a database host name.
