Abstract: An embodiment of the invention includes a system for partitioning asset management plugins. The system includes an application program interface for performing basic CRUD functions on assets having multiple asset types. At least one plugin having plugin components is provided, wherein the plugin manages at least one asset having a specific asset type (of the multiple asset types). The plugin components include a CRUD component, a state component, an actions component, and/or a view component. The system further includes plugin containers for hosting the plugin components, the plugin containers include at least one client-side plugin container and at least one server-side plugin container. The plugin components are partitioned and distributed from the plugin components to the plugin containers by a plugin server based on capabilities of the client.

Abstract: A method and system create a model of a set of relationships between a set of parent computer network objects and a set of corresponding child computer network objects, over a period of time, and output a user interface graphing the model in a single view to illustrate the set of relationships over the period of time. The parent computer network objects include virtual machines and the child computer network objects include hosts. The user interface includes a search option to provide for a search of problems with the child computer network objects over the period of time.

Abstract: A method for monitoring client information within a shared environment. The method includes identifying a first physical location of a server computer, the server computer providing computing resources to a client within a shared environment, and collecting information associated with the client, the information including computing resources of the server computer provided to the client. The method includes creating a map showing the first physical location of the server computer and the collected information associated with the client. The method includes identifying a current physical location of the server computer and determining whether the current location is different than the first location. The method then, in response to determining the current location is different than the first location, includes updating the map with the identified current physical location of the server computer.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a computer-readable medium, method and system for determining security vulnerabilities for a plurality of application programs used to provide television services to a customer device over a communications network. The method includes running a first scanning program against a first application program relating to a control panel for the customer device; running a second scanning program against a second application program that provides Internet content to the customer device; running a third scanning program against a third application program that relates to a component management system of customer premises equipment; and correlating security vulnerabilities identified utilizing the first, second, and third scanning programs.

The thin client system includes at least one terminal, a client environment server where a client environment used by the terminal operates, and a management server which allocates the predetermined client environment based on a utilization request of the client environment from the terminal, wherein the management server comprises a client environment management unit which receives from the terminal, terminal identification information for identifying the terminal, and terminal part information for identifying a terminal part which is a component of the terminal, and uses a client environment component that is set in advance so as to correspond to the terminal part information to generate the client environment in the client environment server.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that displays performance data for a computing environment. During operation, the system first determines values for a performance metric for a plurality of entities that comprise the computing environment. Next, the system displays the computing environment as a tree comprising nodes representing the plurality of entities and edges representing parent-child relationships between the plurality of entities. While displaying the tree, the system displays the child nodes for each parent in sorted order based on values of the performance metric associated with the child nodes.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, paradigms and structures for caching data associated with a sliding window in computer systems. A sliding window can include a time window that progresses with time, and the data can include time series data. As time progresses, the sliding window changes bringing in new data. The cache is updated with new data as and when the sliding window moves. The sliding window data is cached at various granularity levels. The method includes storing a first portion of the data at a first granularity level and a second portion at a second granularity level. The data is cached at various granularity levels in order to effectively use the cache considering at least cache updating criteria such as (i) number of times a storage unit is queried to retrieve the data for updating the cache, (ii) the day/date/time at which the storage unit is queried.

Abstract: A display-data generating apparatus obtains reputation information indicative of reputation of a subject and extracted from a text accessible via a network, and linkage information indicative of a linkage between texts, and couples the reputation information and the linkage information to obtain the linkage between the texts associated with the reputation information specified from each of the texts. The display-data generating apparatus determines a display mode of a first mark that symbolizes the text and a second mark that symbolizes the linkage based on the reputation information corresponding to the text, and generates a display data to display the first mark and the second mark in the determined display mode.

Abstract: An information transmission apparatus receives information indicating a display language type of a web page to be displayed on a web browser included in an information processing apparatus, and determines whether a display language type of a screen displayed on a display unit included in the information transmission apparatus matches the display language type indicated by the received information. If the display languages do not match, the information transmission apparatus changes the display language of the screen displayed on the display unit to the display language indicated by the received information, generates a web page including image data indicating a screen of a changed display language type, and transmits the generated web page to the information processing apparatus.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for controlling a home alarm and supporting various control functions including STB recording functions are described. In some embodiments, e.g., where the STB is a DOCSIS capable device, communications between the control panel and STB is through a gateway and/or server which allow the IP based control panel to interact with the STB via a communications network and other devices located external to the customer premise where the control panel is located. In embodiments where the STB supports IP capability, communication between the control panel and STB is via a home network. In some embodiments upon selecting an alarm activation option a user is provided an opportunity to select at least one of: recordings, which are scheduled for deletion, to be preserved, or suggestions for programs for recording. Upon alarm deactivation, a list of new recordings made in user's absence and a missed call log is presented.

Abstract: A capability is provided for reducing response variance of virtual processors. A controller receives a processing request. The controller may propagate the processing request toward multiple virtual processors hosted on multiple hardware devices contemporaneously. The controller may propagate the processing request toward a first virtual processor hosted on a first hardware device and propagate the processing request toward a second virtual processor hosted on a second hardware device based on a determination that a timeout period expires before a processing response is received from the first virtual processor. The timeout period may be determined based on one or more response time statistics of the virtual processor and one or more response time statistics of a physical processor.

Abstract: A method for optimizing delivery of digital information packets across a network of linked, packet switching nodes is disclosed. A suitably programmed computer translates business oriented requests into network technical requirements. The computer then uses knowledge including pre-stored or real-time discovered topographical maps of the network, and a database of the current attributes of the components of the network, to automatically determine settings for software addressable forwarding devices on the network to implement the network technical requirements, and then configures the network remotely via the software addressable switches at nodes on the network.

Abstract: Described are techniques for problem analysis. Notification is provided through a user interface regarding a performance problem of a system. A plurality of user interface displays are then displayed which correspond to a plurality of steps in connection with performing analysis of the performance problem. Each of the user interface displays includes a predefined set of one or more options. At least a first of the options in the predefined set corresponds to a recommended action automatically performed in response to selecting said first option of the predefined set.

Abstract: A content management system (CMS) autonomically generates structure for a document when a synchronization rule references structure that does not exist in the document. A dynamic structure policy specifies at least one criterion that determines if and how the structure is autonomically generated. By autonomically generating structure in a document, a CMS administrator or CMS user (such as the author) is relieved of the manual task of generating the structure before the synchronization rule can be successfully processed. Once dynamically generated, the added structure may be auto-populated with dummy data or with default data specified in the autonomic structure policy.

Abstract: In some embodiments, in response to the user selecting a first node in the tree to be pinned, the system displays a first detail panel for the first node, wherein the first detail panel displays state information for the first node, wherein the state information is frozen at the time of pinning. Moreover, in response to the user selecting a second node in the tree to be pinned, the system displays a second detail panel for the second node, wherein the second detail panel displays state information for the second node, wherein the state information is frozen at the time of pinning. Note that the first detail panel is displayed concurrently with the second detail panel to facilitate comparing state information between the first and second nodes.

Abstract: A system and method for grouping and managing concurrently a plurality of servers are disclosed, in which a target instruction is issued to one or more servers in the same group, and all the servers are regrouped according to execution results generated by executing the target instruction on the servers in the corresponding group, where solving the issue existing in the prior art and promoting a technical efficacy of management efficiency of multiple servers.

Abstract: A method for interactive multimedia process flow chart analysis is provided. The method includes displaying a process flow chart in an interactive graphical format on a user interface. A visual indication of a current path to a current node in the process flow chart is provided. A request to advance in the process flow chart is received. The method also includes traversing to a subsequent node in the process flow chart based on the request, and updating the visual indication of the current path to include a path to the subsequent node. A history of decisions along the current path is stored in a log based on receiving the request.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus to automatically link process control graphics to process control algorithm information are described. An example method involves displaying a first process control image including process control algorithm information and displaying adjacent to the first process control image a second process control image to include process control graphics. The method automatically links at least some of the process control algorithm information to a graphic in the second process control image in response to user inputs associated with the first and second process control images.

Abstract: A visualization can include a set of swim lanes, each swim lane representing information about an event type. An event type can be specified, e.g., as those events having certain keywords and/or having specified value(s) for specified field(s). The swim lane can plot when (within a time range) events of the associated event type occurred. Specifically, each such event can be assigned to a bucket having a bucket time matching the event time. A swim lane can extend along a timeline axis in the visualization, and the buckets can be positioned at a point along the axis that represents the bucket time. Thus, the visualization may indicate whether events were clustered at a point in time. Because the visualization can include a plurality of swim lanes, the visualization can further indicate how timing of events of a first type compare to timing of events of a second type.

A particular embodiment identifies content, including textual content, to be displayed using RSVP on an electronic device to a user, displays that content to the user using RSVP, and generates content tracking information by tracking information items of the textual content that are displayed using RSVP. In some embodiments, analysis of what information items have been presented to the user and when is used in combination with analysis of information content items in candidate content items to affect rankings of those candidate content items to be potentially presented to a user in response to a search request or other user interface action received from a user device.

The user interface may display a source entity, where the source entity identifies a source of an optical transmission carried by an optical link, and may display a destination entity, where the destination entity identifies a destination for the optical transmission. The user interface may also display a power adjustment made to the optical transmission at the source entity or the destination entity.

Abstract: A method for storing graphical user interface (GUI) object properties includes: storing GUI object properties for each GUI object for a starting version of an application in an object map; associating the stored GUI object properties for each GUI object with a starting version identifier; determining that at least one of the GUI objects is changed; in response to determining that the at least one GUI object is changed, storing modifications of the GUI object properties for the at least one GUI object in the object map; and associating the modifications of the GUI object properties for the at least one GUI object with a new version identifier of the application. Over time, the object map contains multiple variants of the GUI objects. An automation test tool may use this object map to intelligently select appropriate GUI object version for recognition at script run time.

Abstract: A system for simulated communication is described. A simulator module generates simulated communication information. A Graphical User Interface module (“GUI module”) generates graphical data based at least in part on the simulated communication information. The graphical data creates the appearance of an ongoing communication between a reserved agent and a third party user that is not yet occurring. The GUI module sends the graphical data to a display associated with the reserved agent device so that the display depicts a simulated communication.

Abstract: A communication system is provided. The communication system includes a main electronic device and an auxiliary electronic device. The auxiliary electronic device would send a connection sound wave signal. When the main electronic device receives the connection sound wave signal, the main electronic device sends a positioning signal. When the auxiliary electronic device receives the positioning signal, the auxiliary electronic device sends a positioning sound wave signal to the main electronic device. A user interface view sharing platform may present a user interface view at a first device for interacting with a second device, wherein the first device has an interface to the second device. The user interface view sharing platform may further encode the user interface view, data associated with the first device, other data associated with the second device, or a combination thereof into a data payload. The user interface view sharing platform may also transmit the data payload to a third device, wherein the user interface view, the data associated with the first device, the other data associated with the second device, or a combination thereof is reconstructed at the third device for interacting with the second device via the third device based on the data payload.

Abstract: A method for real-time capture of actual user experiences on a website, web application or mobile app includes receiving, in first servers, one or more beacons, each containing data items. Each beacon is generated in real-time from a user session. The data items are aggregated in one or more first sets of N data buckets associated with each of the first servers. Each of the first servers transmits the data items of each of the N data buckets to a second server over a network, which further aggregates the data items received in one or more sets of N data buckets corresponding to and identically configured as the data buckets of the first servers. The corresponding data contents of the one or more second sets of N data buckets is aggregated into one or more final sets of N data buckets used in generating a real-time analytic dashboard.

The system receives a call from a messaging system associated with the user to save a message attachment to the online content management system, wherein the call includes a link to the message attachment. In response to the call, the system commences downloading the message attachment to the online content management system. While the message attachment is downloading, the system provides a selection interface to enable the user to select a destination for the message attachment within the online content management system. After the user selects the destination and after the message attachment finishes downloading, the system saves the message attachment to the selected destination in the online content management system.

Abstract: A device may comprise a display interface and a processor coupled to the display interface. The processor may be configured to couple to a remote network-connected device over a computer network; generate a graphic representation of the network-connected device on the display and send the generated graphic representation to the display interface. A status of the network-connected device may then be received over the computer network and cause, responsive to receiving the status of the network-connected device, the graphic representation of the network-connected device to change appearance depending upon the received state the network-connected device.
