Abstract: Social networks may include computers which cause information to be displayed on maps. A computer may receive temporal and geographic data comprising a location and a moment in time linked to one another, and the temporal and geographic data being associated with an icon linked to a position on a map. The computer may receive a command to filter the icon based on a period of time. The computer may cause a portion of the map to be displayed and the icon to be displayed at the linked position on the portion of the map when the moment in time is within the time period and the location is within the portion of the map. The computer may determine that the icon is not to be displayed when the moment in time is not within the time period and/or the location is not within the portion of the map.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to systems and methods of burning, snapshotting, streaming and curating geofeeds, each geofeed including a plurality of geofeed content items that are aggregated from a plurality of content providers using respective requests formatted specifically for individual ones of the plurality of content providers, where each individual set of a plurality of content is relevant to one or more geographically definable locations. Archives of a geofeed may be generated by burning portions or all of the geofeed content items and/or generating snapshots of geofeeds at different times. A real-time geofeed may be streamed by continuously or periodically obtaining newly available geofeed content items and updated a geofeed stream in real-time. Collections of geofeed content items may be curated in order to organize and follow geofeed content items of interest.

Abstract: Techniques for managing tags for communities are described herein. According to one embodiment, in response to tagging a document page with one or more tags, where the document page is displayed within a main window of a browser, the one or more tags are associated with one or more communities selected from a list of available communities. The one or more tags are then stored in a storage having information linking with the document page tagged with the one or more tags and the associated with and published within one or more communities such that a member of the selected communities is able to search within the storage based on the one or more tags to identify and retrieve the document page tagged by the one or more tags. Other methods and apparatuses are also described.

Abstract: A preferred contact group centric interface for a communication device can be used to facilitate communications by a user. The user interface can be arranged to activate from a user's “home page” on the display, from an idle screen that is accessed after a timeout period expires, or any other appropriate mechanism that activates the preferred contact group centric experience. A user selects the preferred contact group from among an array of the user's contacts. Once the contact group is configured, a minimal number of navigation/selection features is necessary to activate any number of communication modes available to the contacts. The contact group is configured such that simple and quick navigation between the contact members is achieved. The contact group can be presented in 2D and 3D arrangements, in any number of list or geometric configurations. A pricing plan can optionally be tied to each member of the contact group.

Abstract: A method for manual intervention in a dialing process includes maintaining a list of records containing phone numbers in a database stored on a computer readable storage medium, receiving at a computer and from the user a click for each of the records within the list of records in the database stored on the computer readable storage medium, and storing on a computer readable storage medium a record of the click, an identity of the user performing the click, and an association between the click and one of the records within the list of records. For each click, the method provides for electronically communicating the corresponding phone number of one of the records within the list to a dialing device for dialing the phone number. The method may further include dialing the phone number using the dialing device.

In one embodiment, an information processing apparatus has a communication unit configured to communicate with an information-providing apparatus over the network, an input unit configured to receive input from a user of the information-processing apparatus, a storage unit storing one or more menus, and a control unit. The control unit is configured to receive, via the input unit, a selection of information for processing, to retrieve, from the storage unit, a first menu associated with the selected information, to receive, via the communication unit, a second menu associated with the selected information from the information-providing apparatus over the network, and to generate a third menu associated with the selected information based on the first menu and on the second menu.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating access to content using availability information. Content programs are determined based at least in part on a prior selection of one or more of the content programs from a content catalog by a user. Content availability data is obtained from multiple content providers. Availabilities of each content program are determined based at least in part on the content availability data. A user interface is generated that presents the respective availabilities of each of the content programs through the corresponding interfaces of some or all of the content providers.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable mediums for managing a subset of user contacts on a telecommunications device are provided. In one embodiment, a software application executed by a processor of a telecommunications device identifies a subset of contacts selected at least in part by a user of the telecommunications device. The subset of contacts includes a portion of the user's contacts accessible by the telecommunications device. The software application executed by the processor of the telecommunications device then causes display of a graphical identifier associated with each contact of the subset of contacts in an arrangement on a display of the telecommunications device about an axis positioned external to the display of the telecommunications device. Aspects of systems, methods, and computer-readable mediums for further arranging the graphical identifiers are also provided.

Abstract: In an Internet protocol television network, a set-top box includes a social network interface module and a remote control interface module. The social network interface module receives a first selection of a content item from the remote control interface module, and receives a second selection of a comment from the remote control interface module. The social network interface module also posts the second selection on a social network system.

Abstract: Methods and systems for presentation of content through an interface to provide personalized video feeds to a user. The video feeds are harvested from feed items gathered at various Internet sources. Those video feeds are referenced by icons or channels that rotate about, or scroll within, a first carousel. Video feeds are arranged in columns and/or rows that rotate about, or scroll within, a second carousel. Movement in one carousel causes movement in the other in a synchronous manner even though the movement may be at different speeds.

Abstract: A system and method for managing informational objects on a mobile device. A user-selectable option is displayed to a user of the mobile device. The option is associated with an action to be performed on informational objects sharing at least one specified characteristic (e.g., storing all e-mail messages that are part of the same thread in a folder, generating a distribution list of contacts belonging to a specified group). After the user has selected the option, the application identifies informational objects having the at least one specified characteristic and performs the action on the identified objects.

Abstract: A method of providing a Social Networking Service (SNS) based on a phone book of a mobile terminal is provided. The method includes executing the phone book, receiving a selection of a group tab of the phone book from a first user of the mobile terminal, displaying a list of social groups that shares group activity information of its group members including a second user registered in the phone book in response to the selection of the group tab, and, when at least one social group is selected from the list of social groups, providing at least one piece of information from among group information, a group share space including group activity information, and link information corresponding to the selected at least one social group.

Abstract: A method and system for providing a connected sales associate service application via a mobile device. The application provides for an integrated platform upon which various tools for providing support to a sales associate are built. The application includes a database of information regarding the sales associates and operational information regarding a retail establishment, and provides a user interface for allowing the sales associate to access a central server for the retail establishment along with multiple additional sales associates on multiple additional mobile devices. The user interface enables the store associate to initialize and conduct VoIP calls with any of the other additional sales associates through each of their respective mobile devices. In addition, stationary user interfaces can be positioned throughout the store to enable customers to request assistance from sales associates.

Abstract: An intelligent abbreviated dialing feature can use a portion of a phone number as a shortcut to dialing. Any portion of a phone number can be input into a communications device such as by pressing buttons on the keypad or speaking into a microphone. A processor in the communications device or on a network accessible by the communications device can generate the phone number register from frequently dialed numbers. The processor can compare the input into the communications device against the phone number register. For each digit of the phone number that is input into the communications device, the processor can search the phone numbers and provide search results with the corresponding numbers. A phone number can be selected from the search results and dialed.

Abstract: Apparatus, systems, and methods may operate to present a first plurality of visible images indicating a corresponding group of visible element navigation pathways associated with a first level of an online marketplace, receive a selection of one of the first plurality of visual images to provide a selected image, and navigate to a second level of the online marketplace along the visible element navigation pathways by presenting a second plurality of visible images representing one of a super-category including the selected image and a sub-category included in the selected image, wherein the first and second levels form part of at least three levels of visual navigation. The management system may also provide for user/administrator customization of the menu of applications available to users, and for revocation of applications by an administrator of the management system.

Abstract: One embodiment of a method of the present invention provides for obtaining an image from a requester, obtaining contact information for vouching people, whom requester identifies as having personal knowledge of the requester, and sending an electronic message to the vouching people, with a link to an image lineup. The image lineup contains the image obtained from the requester and other images. Then receiving a selection choice from the vouching people, identifying whether the image in the image lineup depicts the requester, and calculating a statistical rating of a likelihood that the image obtained from the requester depicts him/her.

Abstract: A device searching system and method for data transmission are provided. A method of searching for another device in a first device for data transmission includes outputting a widget window for a device search, receiving an address book stored in a second device connected to the first device, and if the widget window is selected, searching for a device included in the received address book, wherein the searching of the device includes searching for at least one of devices included in the received address book based on a keyword input through the widget window.

Abstract: A method and system for cataloguing browsing activity into separate browsing threads. Each browsing thread is an archived set of links that were considered during a specific time-period. The user is also provided with the ability to add metadata to a browsing history. The invention permits the user to reload an archived thread and resume any browsing from the point at which the thread was paused or suspended. In addition, the method and system provides cataloguing of the user browsing activity into separate threads with the ability to add metadata to threads or the individual entries within a thread. The threads may also be archived by date and time and indexed by keyword such that saved threads may be located, resumed, reviewed, and amended at a later point in time, including by other users, if desired.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to provision of an online catalog of files. In example embodiments, a computing device may display an online catalog that identifies files available for download.
