Abstract: One embodiment of a method of the present invention provides for obtaining an image from a requester, obtaining contact information for vouching people, whom requester identifies as having personal knowledge of the requester, and sending an electronic message to the vouching people, with a link to an image lineup. The image lineup contains the image obtained from the requester and other images. Then receiving a selection choice from the vouching people, identifying whether the image in the image lineup depicts the requester, and calculating a statistical rating of a likelihood that the image obtained from the requester depicts him/her.

Abstract: The invention provides a display interface in a social networking system that enables the presentation of information related to a user in a timeline or map view. The system accesses information about a user of a social networking system, including both data about the user and social network activities related to the user. The system then selects one or more of these pieces of data and/or activities from a certain time period and gathers them into timeline units based on their relatedness and their relevance to users. These timeline units are ranked by relevance to the user, and are used to generate a timeline or map view for the user containing visual representations of the timeline units organized by location or time. The timeline or map view is then provided to other users of the social networking system that wish to view information about the user.

The present invention incorporates online email accounts, social network accounts, and personal information managers into a central address book stored on a server database that is accessible from users' workstations and mobile devices. Users may set permission levels for access to their contact information by addressee category and/or customize it to each addressee. Users may also post updates to their contact information into their addressees' online accounts if the addressee is a member of the system database who has granted permission for automatic updates to their email accounts, social network accounts, and the like.

Abstract: A list authoring surface (LAS) is provided that includes a lightweight user interface component for entering, displaying, manipulating, and providing reminders for one or more tasks that takes the place of hand-written notes, scraps of paper, or “sticky” notes. The list authoring surface may be deployed across a multitude of software applications and may be readily accessed anywhere on a stationary or mobile desktop or display screen. The system provides a calendaring feature where a supervisor or manager can determine the workload of a group of workers for an upcoming time period. Abstract: A unique monitoring system and method is provided that involves monitoring user activity in order to facilitate managing and optimizing the utilization of various system resources. In particular, the system can monitor user activity, detect when users need assistance with their specific activities, and identify at least one other user that can assist them. Assistance can be in the form of answering questions, providing guidance to the user as the user completes the activity, or completing the activity such as in the case of taking on an assigned activity. In addition, the system can aggregate activity data across users and/or devices. As a result, problems with activity templates or activities themselves can be more readily identified, user performance can be readily compared, and users can communicate and exchange information regarding similar activity experiences. Furthermore, synchronicity and time-sensitive scheduling of activities between users can be facilitated and improved overall.

Abstract: A product configurator is based on a constraint network having a plurality of nodes. The product configurator, when it receives a user choice, determines which nodes in the constraint network are affected by the user choice. For each affected node, the product configurator stores the prior domain state of the node and associates the stored prior domain state with the user choice. Therefore, the nodes can be restored to their prior state if the user choice is later removed for any reason.

The profile of the service is updated to include information identifying the correspondence and the relationship.

Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for identifying potential recipients for a communication (e.g., email, instant message, content sharing platform, etc.) a user is presently preparing based at least in part upon a user's communication history. That is, information about the user's interactions with past recipients of his/her communications are compared with information known about the present communication and potential recipients of the present communication are identified based upon this comparison. Moreover, in one embodiment, based upon the past interactions of the user with others, one or more communication groups can be identified and presented to the user. In this way, a user may select a communication group and recipients included in the communication group can be added as recipients for the communication the user is presently preparing without the user having to manually create such groups, for example.
