Abstract: In a method for transmitting image data from a plurality of cameras in a vehicle, a set of functions is provided, which set of functions comprises a plurality of functions each having a requirement for a respective image setting of at least one of the cameras. If a function is activated, a respective image setting is set for at least one of the cameras on the basis of at least one of the function and a respective predefined desired data rate during image data transmission in order to provide the image data from the respective camera for the respective function.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention disclosed herein provide techniques for transforming and distributing data in a distributed computing system. New data types are created on-demand by deriving, transforming, and aggregating data from already existing data sources. A data transformation engine identifies a first subscription request received from a first subscriber for a first resource included in a plurality of resources. The data transformation engine determines that the first resource is not available from any publisher included in a plurality of publishers. The data transformation engine generates a transformation rule that transforms a set of second resources available from a set of first publishers included in the plurality of publishers into the first resource. The data transformation engine transforms the set of second resources into the first resource based on the inferred transformation rule. The data transformation engine publishes the first resource to the first subscriber.

Abstract: A content distribution facilitation system is described comprising configured servers and a network interface configured to interface with a plurality of terminals in a client server relationship and optionally with a cloud-based storage system. A request from a first source for content comprising content criteria is received, the content criteria comprising content subject matter. At least a portion of the content request content criteria is transmitted to a selected content contributor. If recorded content is received from the first content contributor, the first source is provided with access to the received recorded content. The recorded content may be transmitted via one or more networks to one or more destination devices. Optionally, a voice analysis and/or facial recognition engine are utilized to determine if the recorded content is from the first content contributor.

A multimedia database having multimedia data including multimedia content data is searched based on a user query to determine a first set of multimedia data. The multimedia data includes indexes to and condensed representations of corresponding video data stored in a video database. A portion of the first set of multimedia data is displayed at a control device in response to the user query. A user of the control device selects an element of the first set of multimedia data for video playback and video data corresponding to the element delivered to a video device for playback. A user of the control device selects an element of the first set of multimedia data for additional information and a second set of multimedia data corresponding to the element delivered to the control device.

Abstract: Techniques for displaying navigation information on a mobile device are provided that include a method that includes obtaining an indication of a position and an indication of a direction associated with the mobile device, using the indication of the position, the indication of the direction, information regarding identities of POIs within a geographic region of interest, and information regarding areas associated with the POIs to determine at least one relevant POI, of the POIs, that is associated with the position and direction, and displaying at least one visual indication associated with each of the at least one relevant POI on the mobile device. The appearance of the at least one visual indication is dependent on at least one of a distance from the mobile device of the relevant POI associated with the visual indication or presence of a known physical barrier between the mobile device and that relevant POI.

Abstract: Customization of persisted notifications, in which when a subject event happens, a notification is persisted. For instance, customization may be according to language, style, or other user preference. This may be particularly useful in situations in which a single user may change styles, user preferences, or even languages; or in which an application that generated the notifications is to be shared amongst various diverse users. For instance, one user may prefer notifications in English—another may prefer notifications in French but be blind, another may prefer Mandarin when she is in a non-English speaking country but English when she is in an English speaking country. The principles described herein allow flexible customizations and localizations of persistent notifications without having to translate every notification into every possible language, or persist the notification according to every possible style or user preference.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for a remote video system. In some embodiments, a camera device may include a processor configured to capture image and audio content, perform data manipulation to alter the content, and stream the content to a remote server. Camera devices may be set up at a particular venue or location, and may have settings selected by a venue administrator. Camera devices may also be configured for head recognition, for determining activity levels in a venue, and for reporting accumulated data to the remote server. Streamed content may be accessed by users over a network via an application on computing devices, such as mobile applications or web browsers. The application may provide promotional materials to users based on the user's location, the activity levels within the venue, or other information. Users may also be able to establish direct stream connections to customer service or other venue personnel.

A set of IP cameras are connected in a LAN to a network video recorder further connected by LAN or WAN to a set of client stations. The client station operates a hybrid program including a web-browser and a native application operating on a computer. The network video recorder operates a media recorder to store video streams from the IP cameras into a media database and further operates a relational database for storing camera configuration data, device drivers, event information and alarms. The network video recorder includes a zero configuration networking discovery service for automatically detecting and downloading default configurations to the cameras. Client stations can stream video directly from IP cameras, receive recorded video streams and query the relational database for cameras and events.
