Abstract: A linear actuating element for the remote control of adjustable components on wind tunnel models includes a housing and a gear motor for driving a threaded spindle. On the threaded spindle a threaded nut for moving a pusher rod is arranged. The threaded spindle is connected to the gear motor by a chain drive, wherein the threaded spindle and a gear motor axle are arranged so as to be substantially anti-parallel. Due to the anti-parallel arrangement of the gear motor axle and of the threaded spindle, the linear actuating element on the one hand comprises a compact design. Consequently the linear actuating element is in particular suited to the remote control of adjustable components on wind tunnel models with small spatial dimensions. On the other hand the linear actuating element makes it possible to generate very considerable mechanical actuating forces while at the same time providing very good positioning and repetition accuracy.

Abstract: By a linear actuator of the type comprising a driven spindle with a spindle nut, the outer positions and possibly also the intermediate positions of the spindle nut can be determined by a specially designed switch construction. This switch comprises an elongated conductor (8a), and next to this at least one other short conductor (8b), and where a connection element (10) for the spindle nut is equipped with an electric conductive element (9), for creating contact between the two conductors (8a, 8b). With two short conductors at the end of the elongated conductor end-stop switches for the nut are achieved and with more short conductors between the two end conductors the position of the spindle nut between its outer positions can be determined.

Abstract: An actuator is disclosed that utilizes a fixed screw attached at one end to an actuator housing. A rotatable tube concentric with the fixed screw rotationally drives a nut having threads engaging the threaded shaft, such that the nut moves axially relative to the tube, upon rotation of the tube. The actuator is axially coupled to the nut by thrust bearings such that the actuator rod does not rotate with the driven member.

Abstract: End-plates for linear motion sliders and linear motion sliders for use with the end-plates, particularly an end-plate for linear motion sliders and a linear motion slider for use with the end-plate, in which first and second support portions, which contact and support the outer surfaces of balls, are provided in the circumferential inner surface of the end-plate, and a space is defined between the outer surfaces of the balls and a junction surface between the first and second support portions. Therefore, the stiffness of the end-plate is increased, and the balls can stably circulate in a slider, thus reducing noise and vibration. Furthermore, the space serves to keep lubricant therein, whereby the balls can more efficiently circulate in the slider.

Abstract: Precision movement of a table part by movement of a nut over a lead screw is achieved by a less rigorously precise structure than has heretofore been thought necessary. To that end the screw is fixedly supported only at one end and is rotatable in bearings mounted within a rigidly mounted tube which at least partially surrounds the screw, play in those bearings is minimized by exerting axial pressure thereon, the nut is especially designed to engage the screw only at separated points, thereby to reduce friction and play in the nut, and the nut is connected to the moveable table part by structure passing through an opening in the tube and resiliently engaging the moveable table part to compensate for displacement and play.

Abstract: In a drive device for opening and or closing the hatch of a motor vehicle, the drive including a spindle drive with a threaded spindle and a nut, with a clutch arranged between the rotary drive and the spindle drive, the clutch includes a shifting element, a clutch element, and a clutch disk non-rotatably connected to the threaded spindle. The shifting element is rotatably drivably connected to the rotary drive. The shifting element has an axially oriented helical first ramp and the clutch element has an axially oriented helical second ramp in opposed contact with said first ramp. Relative rotation of the shifting element and the clutch element causes relative axial displacement of the shifting element and the clutch element against a spring force. The clutch element has a clutch area movable into non-rotatable engagement with the clutch disk in response to the relative axial displacement of the shifting element and the clutch element such that the rotary drive for the spindle drive also operates the clutch.
