The carton top opener portion will break the seal between a pair of tabs on a top of a carton and form a pouring spout from two flaps.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multipurpose crimp for cable connection and more particularly the one which is comprised of a pair of opposite handle portions, a pair of opposite cable stripper blades, a shearing cutter, a bottom block, a fixed crimper, a movable die, and movable crimper, a cover plate, and a pair of springs. When the two opposite handle portions are squeezed inward, the cable stripper blades, the shearing cutter, the movable crimper and the movable are concomitantly driven to move for respectively performing cable stripping, cutting or crimping process.

Abstract: A bottle opener includes a handle having a substantially circular first bottle opener portion at one end thereof with a centrally disposed first opening extending through the first bottle opener portion to remove a twist-off screw cap from a bottle and can, and a substantially flat second bottle opener portion extending outwardly from the opposite end of the handle with a second opening extending through the second bottle opener portion to remove a pry-off cap from a bottle and can, the second bottle opener portion including an off-set tab at a free end thereof in order to lift a ring-like portion of a lift-off tab of a flip top can to open same. The first bottle opener portion and the handle are constructed in one piece, from a rubber-like material. Engagement members are provided on the walls of the first opening of the first bottle opener portion for gripping and turning the twist-off screw cap.

The design shows a hook at one end, a gear teeth type structure at the mid lower base, and a ring for holding keys at the other end. The ring, which carries the keys, is the only moveable part.

Abstract: This tool envisions a method for separating clinched together first and second components of a duct, which components have been clinched into interengagement, by the uncrimping of the clinch collar tab of the first component from the second component. The clinched parts are first pried loose by a sharpened point of a tool which is penetrated between the tab and the second component. The prying is continued by virtue of the use of the fulcrum, integral with the tool, so that the tab is moved from its initial 90.degree. dihedral position to its subsequent zero degree dihedral position.

Abstract: A multiple-function beverage container opener is provided which features an ergonomically-shaped, elongate body having a stay-on tab opener on one end thereof, a crimped-on bottle cap opener on the opposite end thereof, and twist-off bottle opener in a central socket portion thereof. The stay-on tab opener is characterized by an arcuate loop formed between outboard and inboard arcuate-shaped lances. The arcuate-shaped lances and loop are provided with a radius that is substantially similar to the rim of the beverage container lid so that the loop fits between the tab handle and the rim of the beverage container. A ramp is coined in the arcuate loop to further assist in the camming of the tab handle upwardly into the arcuate loop for further pivoting and opening of the scored closure of the stay-on tab opener.

Abstract: A combination pop-top can and bottle opener having an elongated lever body, a lifting element positioned on the lever body and sized and shaped to fit underneath a lift tab on a pop-top can, a fulcrum element formed on the lever body in physical association with the lift element but spaced away from the lift element to form a pop-top tab sheaving channel between the lift element and the fulcrum element, is improved by including an improved bottle cap edge gripper on the lever body. The edge gripper is formed to include one or both of a concave edge or a tongue. The tongue is tilted out of the plane of the remainder of the edge gripper. Further, opposing detents are formed on the gripper member to facilitate attachment of the gripper member to the lever body.

Abstract: A combination lighter case and opener for both crown cap bottles and tab top cans has a handle with recess for removably holding a cigarette lighter. The lighter operating elements are exposed at one end of the handle. Another end of the handle is provided with a loop type opener for prying off crown caps. Extending from the end of the loop type opener is a projection for sliding under the tab of a tab top can. A recess at the base of the projection engages the tab for bending it down after the can is opened.

Abstract: An opener tool for a tab top beverage container or the like is adapted for engagement with the fingertip of a user. The opener tool includes a finger-engaging portion and a portion adapted to bear against the front of the fingertip. A tab engaging structure is formed on the latter portion for engaging the tab top of the beverage container. The tab engaging portion includes a tab receiving passage which extends along an axis substantially parallel to and spaced inwardly from the longitudinal axis of the portion of the user's finger engaging the opener tool. The structure so formed provides an efficient and easy to operate tab top opening mechanism.

Abstract: A multi-purpose device is disclosed for opening a variety of containers, such as plastic milk jugs, soda cans and soda bottles. A cup-like guide member is received over the tamper-resistance cap of a plastic milk jug and has cleaving lugs projecting downward into the spaces between rupturable connector elements, which join the threaded cap to a fixed locking collar. By twisting the guide member, the cleaving lugs are caused to rupture the connector elements and free the cap for easy removal. A handle provides leverage to facilitate application of the necessary twisting torque. A smaller cup-like section, co-axial with the cup-like guide member but of smaller diameter, is provided with ribbed side walls for engagement with the flutes of a standard twist-off bottle cap to facilitate its removal by twisting.

Abstract: A shotshell die set to facilitate reloading shotgun shells when using a commercially available press. The shotshell die set includes a depriming pin and shell holder adaptor for supporting the spent shell casing in a position to remove the spent primer from the sheel casing by using the depriming pin in association with the press. A priming pin and another shell holder adaptor are utilized with the spent shell casing in order to insert a new primer in the shell casing. A sizing and crimping die together with an additional shell holder adaptor and crimping plug are utilized to enable complete reloading and reshaping of the shell by using existing devices so the shell is then ready for use in a firearm in a conventional manner.

The container has at least one peripheral rib extending around the wall below the lid and the tool comprises a lever arm having a handle at one end and a rim engaging lip at the other end, an anchor pivoted at a pivot position on the lever arm adjacent the rim engaging lip, the anchor having a top member adapted for engagement with the peripheral rib on the container wall, and a bottom stabilizing member adapted to rest against the container wall below the peripheral rib, such that when the tool is engaged with a container, the rim engaging lip positioned under the overlapping rim of the lid, and the top member of the anchor engaging the peripheral rim of the container wall, lever action of the tool raises the lid from the container.

Abstract: The opener comprises a base which is attached to support structure and provides a member extending generally horizontal and a lift tab engagement element hinged to the end of the generally horizontal base member. The engagement fits over the rim of the top of a lift tab container and under the tab, extending somewhat past the effective hinge point of the tab on the container top and positioned laterally with respect to the lift tab by a flange on each side of the element. A tab extends from each flange part way over the top of the lift tab. The engagement element is hinged so that it can deflect downward only from its essentially horizontal at rest position and is returned to that position by a spring. In use the container is maneuvered to engage the lift tab in the engagement element and then moved so that the engagement element pivots on its hinge axis, functions as a Class 2 lever and opens the container. Reversing the opening motion puts the lift tab into close to its original position.

Abstract: An improved can opening tool for opening a can having a pull tab is provided. The tool includes a ring member and an arm attached to the ring member having a bent end. An index finger is snugly engaged by the ring member, with the end of the arm engaged with the pull tab for imparting a pulling force to the pull tab.

Abstract: An opener for both pop-top cans and bottles is formed to include an elongated lever body. A lifting element is positioned on the lever body and is sized and shaped to fit underneath the lift tab on a pop-top can. A fulcrum element is further formed on the lever body in physical association with the lift element but spaced away from the lift element so as to form a channel between the lift element and the fulcrum element. The channel is sized and shaped such that the lift tab of the pop-top can can be sheaved in the channel between the lift element and the fulcrum element for manipulation of the lift tab to open the pop-top can. The opener further includes a bottle cap edge gripper located on the lever body in physical association with the fulcrum element. For removing bottle caps from capped bottles, the bottle cap edge gripper is independently formed and then positioned on the opener such that it engages the edge of the bottle cap when the fulcrum element is positioned in the center of the bottle cap.

Abstract: A combination lighter and container opener includes an elongated handle which has a container opener member at one end. The other end of the handle has a pair of rolled under and inwardly turned flanges oriented to permit the frictional wedging engagement of the fuel tank portion of a disposable lighter, leaving the igniter portion of the lighter extending beyond the other end of the handle. The handle has a length which is greater than the length of the lighter, and the flanges are spaced apart to permit a lighter to be pushed out of the handle for replacement with a new one when the fuel is spent.

Abstract: An opener for tab-top, screw-top and crimped top beverage containers is disclosed. The opener comprises: an injection-molded, substantially flat, elongated handle of an essentially constant wall thickness having a central portion and two ends; a cavity molded in one end of the handle; a serrate frustoconical receptacle molded in the central portion of the handle; an opening molded in the other end of the handle; a passage also molded in the other end and communicating with the opening; and a steel insert frictionally retained in the passage, a portion of the insert protruding into the opening. In use, the cavity receives a tab-top tab, the receptacle engages a screw-top cap, or the opening receives a crimped-top cap, the insert engaging the edge of the cap. The ergonomic handle is then used as a lever to open the container. A permanent magnet may be attached to the opener to allow easy storage on a magnetic surface. The opener may be provided with holes for attaching a cord or tether.

Abstract: A tool for removing tight fitting lids from bulk containers including a rigid shaft, a knife assembly mounted on one end of the shaft on one side thereof, and a lifting hook mounted on the same end of the shaft, but on the opposite side thereof. A handle is attached perpendicularly to the other end of the shaft.

Abstract: A coaster for supporting beverage cans that is also operative to open both tab topped beverage cans and twist-off cap bottles. The coaster is a square body with parallel top and bottom surfaces and relatively short sides that are normal to both the top and bottom surfaces. A circular depression, whose surface serves to support beverage cans, is formed on the top surface. A circular dome is formed on the central portion of the depression's surface. The coaster also includes a slot, for opening tab topped beverage cans, formed on the corner of one of its sides. The coaster also includes a circular depression, having a circle or radially inwardly extending projections on its inner wall, centrally formed on its bottom surface. This depression serves to remove twist-off bottle caps from beverage bottles.

Abstract: A finger ring having a decorative jewelry appearance but having integrated with the body structure of the ring a utilitarian structure that can be used to lift the tab of a tab-top or pop-top container. The structure of the ring includes a ring body which is circular or oval in shape with at least one arcuate segment of the ring body having a cross-section, when taken perpendicular to the plane of the ring, which includes a shoulder portion of the ring body connected to a tab opener lip by a neck portion of the ring body, the neck portion of the ring body forming the upper surface of the ring to form a lip which extends in the direction of the axis of the ring for use in opening pop-top or tab-top containers.

Abstract: A multiple stroke hand tool (2) comprises a ram (18) slidably mounted to a housing frame (44). A compact rotatable ratchet member (30) is connected to the ram (18) and pivotally mounted to the housing frame (44) such that as operating means (90) are moved, a drive pawl (32) engages the ratchet member (30) causing the ratchet member (30) to rotate, which in turn causes the ram (18) to move between an open position and a closed position. An automatic fast take-up member (60) is provided which cooperates with the operating means (90). This type of automatic fast take-up allows minimal operator input, enabling the operator to better perform the other operation required. This fast take-up member (60) also insures that terminals are properly positioned with respect to the ram (18), thereby providing a much more reliable operation of the hand tool (2).

Abstract: An opener for a tab-top container has a base adapted to be mounted to a supporting surface. Opposing camming surfaces convergently extend from the base to a juncture. An initiating edge formed at the juncture is used to be positioned under the edge of a tab so that when the container is pushed generally toward the base, the tab is cammed away from the end wall causing the closure to responsively open. A method suggested by use of the tab opener is disclosed.

Abstract: A hand-held cap opener fitting the palm of the hand is employed in removing a cap from the child resistant container. The container terminates in a cylindrical neck having threads thereon and a first indicia at a circumferential position providing unlocking of the cap with the cap rotated to a corresponding angular position. The cap includes a radially outward second indicia projection. With the cap radial projection and the first indicia in circumferential alignment, the cap may be pried off the threaded end of the container neck. The cap opener is preferably of molded plastic and unitary form including a palm-held flat plate having top and bottom surfaces. A ring integral with the plate projects from the bottom surface with the ring sized slightly larger than the diameter of the cap which is received therein. An opening in the ring at the longitudinal center line of the flat plate receives the second indicia projection on the cap.

Abstract: The invention provides apparatus facilitating a quick and trouble-free opening of beer and other beverage cans characterized by a portion of the body thereof being peripherally bounded, at least in part, by a line wherein the can is structurally weakened and having attached thereto a tab-like operating member for breaking it free to produce an opening in the can of which it forms a part. Embodiments comprise a device which includes a portion for mount thereof to a finger or thumb of a hand and another portion providing means to insert under and provide a wedge in backing relation to the tab-like operating member including a base for rocking thereof on the body of the can to which it is applied to bias and carry therewith the tab-like member, to provide for its required function. Preferred embodiments of the invention are formed from a single strip of material and preferably of stainless steel.

Abstract: A brush assembly having a pair of elongate brushes mounted in a spaced apart manner on a base having an outer wall disposed about the brushes. A hanger engages a bath or shower enclosure member and includes a hook for insertion within an opening in said base. Handles on the base facilitate relocation of the base from a stowed position on the hanger into place on a wall surface. Wall attachment is by suction cups on the rear side of the base with a lever provided for urging the base away from a supporting wall surface and facilitating return of the brush assembly to a stowed position. A double sided adhesive member may be used to permanently secure the base to a wall surface.

Abstract: The tool is used in opening and/or reopening a bulk container of the type having a plastic lid which is mounted to the container by means of an annular rim having a lip that engages an annular rib on the container. The tool comprises an elongate body having a distal end and a proximal end. The proximal end forms a handle for the tool. A base member is mounted on the distal end of the body and a cross-member is mounted on and across the body at a position spaced a predetermined distance from the base member. The cross-member has two oppositely disposed end portions. Each end portion terminates in a hook shaped structure including an arm extending toward the base member. One arm, on a side facing the body, has an arcuate pry-bar configuration. The other arm, on a side facing the body, has a cutting edge.

Abstract: An opener for beverage cans which employ fulcrum-type tab openers is described. Fulcrum-type openers effect the rupture opening of a drinking aperture within a can body through displacement of a key which remains affixed to the can. The key is subsequently rotated back to its original position while the contents of the can are consumed. The opener includes an elongated handle and a tab embracing element which abuts the upper and lower surfaces of the key simultaneously allowing the user to gain a mechanical advantage both in opening the aperture and returning the key to its original position. The opener can be integrally configured from a piece of tubing which has been crimped or flattened at one end or, alternatively, from an elongated piece of metal band. Additionally, advertising indicia can be included on the handle as well as attachment means to permit securing the opener to a single can or multiple container pack as a promotional item.

Abstract: A multiple stroke hand tool comprises a ram slidably mounted to a support member. A compact rotatable ratchet member is connected to the ram and pivotally mounted to the support member such that as a drive pawl engages the ratchet member, it is rotated causing the ram to move between an open position and a closed position. A resilient member is attached to the ratchet member and exerts a force on the ratchet member opposing rotation thereof. A latching means, pivotally mounted to the support member, cooperates with the ratchet member to prevent unwanted backward rotation of the ratchet member. The latching means disengages from the ratchet member at the end of a cycle which in turn causes the drive pawl to disengage from the ratchet member, allowing automatic return of the ram to the open position. A manual override is also provided such that the latching means may be disengaged as required. A fast take-up is also positioned on the hand tool such that quick, easy, one-handed operation is effected.

Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a handle section and a body section operably connected thereto. The body section preferably has a first member and a second member which is slidable in relation to the first member. A jaw section is secured to the body section and includes a first jaw and a second jaw which are adapted to grasp an associated object. The jaws are axially slidable with respect to each other from a predetermined minimum distance wherein the two jaws are not in contact with each other to a predetermined maximum distance. An intraocular lens, which can be inserted in an eye with the instrument includes a lens portion and two flexible haptic elements positioned on opposite sides of the lens portion and extending radially outwardly therefrom. Each element includes a memory retaining filament connected at both ends to a periphery of the lens portion to form a closed loop and define a continuous substantially circular arc having a diameter greater than the lens diameter.

Abstract: A device for opening small and large bottled drinks having twist-off caps, and cans having pop-top tabs. The device has a handle, two different size back-to-back sockets on one end of the handle, a slot at the other end of the handle, and a projection at the end of the slot which engages with the fulcrum point or downward pushing end of the tab. The back-to-back sockets are useful in twisting off different size bottle caps. The slot and projection are useful in opening pop-top or tab-top cans. The preferred device of the invention has a punch hole for removing bottle caps which become lodged in the sockets, an additional socket at the slot end of the device, an extension with a hanging hole, and ribs on the handle for reinforcing the handle.

Abstract: The subject device comprises two cams structurally supported from a base attachable to a vertical surface. The cams are positioned to interact with the lift-tabs of lift-tab containers as the container is in a vertical position and moved first toward the device and then from it. As the container is moved toward the opener, one cam engages the lift-tab and lifts it to open the container. As the container is moved away from the opener, the other cam depresses the lift tab to approximately its position before the can was opened. The cams are positioned one behind the other in a line perpendicular to the vertical surface. The tab lifting cam extends below the tab depressing cam and is the closer of the two to the base. The end of the lift tab moves below the end of the depressing cam as the container is moved into the opener and raised by the lifting cam. The lifted tab is then engaged and depressed by the depressing cam as the container is moved away from the opener.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tool for crimping, cutting, pressing or the like having a linear work path and a lever drive engaged between the gripping levers and the tool head, with two cover plates (1), each of which form an integrally enclosed frame and which are firmly connected to one another by an intermediately located, upper profile plate (2), and a lower profile plate (3) which can be moved up and down by the lever drive and is guided between the two cover plates (1) by a guide plate (16) being superimposed on the profile plate (3), which guide plate (16) extends into the frame (1), with the upper and lower profile plates (1,2), on the sides facing one another, forming or supporting tools which effect the crimping, cutting, pressing or the like.

Abstract: The opening device is for aiding the opening of containers having either the non-detachable, component type opening system or the twist-off type cap. The former system being characterized as having a scored section at the top of the container with an empaling tab in fulcrum alignment attached thereto. The opening device includes a unitary body member which has a leading end portion for sliding beneath the empaling tab and a trailing handle portion for grasping by the user, and tab restraining means for engaging the top of the empaling tab as the leading end portion is placed beneath the tab. The tab restraining means project upward from the side edges of the body member and then projects spacially parallel to at least a portion of the upper surface of the body member.

Further embodiments include tang members extending from one face of the plate member around an aperture, which serve as insertion depth regulations for twist-cap inserted into the aperture, and a baffle extending from one face of the opener around an aperture for adjusting the operative diameter of the aperture for use with smaller twist-caps.

The tool includes first and second spaced prongs and a downwardly extending spike, all of which extend downwardly from the underside of a generally elongated body portion. The tool has a sharp edge which can be used for prying the lid from the can channel. The downwardly extending spike and the second prong are used to form a plurality of apertures in the can channel, and the underside of the first end of the elongated body and the first prong are used to seal the lid in the can channel.
