Abstract: Polyoxymethylene polymer compositions are disclosed that contain an impact modifier. In accordance with the present disclosure, the impact modifier is attached to the polyoxymethylene polymer and comprises a thermoplastic elastomer containing carbonate groups, such as polycarbonate groups. In one embodiment, a coupling agent bonds the impact modifier to the polyoxymethylene polymer. Incorporation of an impact modifier containing carbonate groups has been found to produce articles having good impact resistance properties while also preserving the permeability of the material. The polymer composition is well suited to producing containment devices, especially fuel tanks.

Abstract: A refuse carrying device with a variety of handling features includes a container, an attachable secondary handle, an attachable wheel assembly, and a shoulder resting recess. The durable container has an open top adapted for receiving refuse. Opposing sides of a top edge of the container include a pair of handles. The selectably attachable secondary side handle and the selectably attachable wheel assembly are positioned along an outer lower perimeter edge of the container. The shoulder recess is an indentation along the lower perimeter edge opposite the secondary handle and includes an attachable padded cushion to line the recess. A user places the shoulder rest in contact with the shoulder and grips the secondary handle to carry the container upon the shoulder region.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a holder for frozen food items. The holder includes a grippable shaft having a first receptacle at a first or superior end of the shaft and in an embodiment, a second receptacle at a second or inferior end of the shaft. The first receptacle is adapted to receive a cone, such as those served with ice cream. The second receptacle is adapted to receive a stick, such as those served with frozen ice confections and ice cream bars. The receptacles are further adapted to receive drippage from melting frozen food items and confections. The holder is invertible to conveniently use either the first or second receptacle for receiving frozen food items supported in a cone, or on a stick. The receptacle not in use may be used as a support member to place the holder on a table or similar flat surface.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed which are suitable for use in the manufacture of two-piece metal containers. In particular, a press is disclosed which makes cup sections from metal sheet using a combination of drawing and stretching operations. The cups resulting from the press have the advantage of having a base thickness that is thinner relative to the ingoing gauge of the metal sheet.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cartridge (1) for insertion into a receptacle of a motor vehicle handling facility having an interior chamber (2) which receives a liquid or pasty medium, an outlet (7), that can be opened so that the cartridge (1) can be used, and a data carrier (8) set up for touch-free electromagnetic signal transmission and positioned at a distance (5) to the interior chamber (2) of the cartridge (1) that is greater than a wall-thickness of the cartridge (1). Conventional cartridges of this kind are not sufficiently secure against confusion and resistant to outside influences. The cartridge (1) cannot be confused, is reliable, space saving and resistant to outside influences, especially when in motor vehicle handling facilities.

The apparatus includes a drive enclosure structure, a gripping pad, and a deformation mechanism. The drive enclosure structure includes a sidewall. The gripping pad is located on the sidewall and includes a plurality of angled slots. The deformation mechanism is connected to the sidewall and configured to facilitate selective deformation of the gripping pad.

The container module also includes a latch that releasably connects the storage container to the at least one other storage container if positioned on the container top.

Abstract: A Dual use food container has two sets of holding surfaces, one positions food items such as taco shells for storage and transport and the other set of surfaces position the taco shell in a position for assembly so the cook can add ingredients like meat, cheese and sauce to the shell without it tipping over. The formed surfaces that enable one position exist substantially without interference with the surfaces that enable the alternative position. A thin film can be applied to the top of the container to seal the food within when positioned for storage and transport and can be adopted to fit snugly in a box further protecting the food. Thin formable materials can be used in making the container. Versions of this material can allow food to be safely warmed in an oven within the container. Methods for preparing food within the container are also disclosed.

Abstract: The application pertains to detecting the fill level of a container for transporting and/or storing objects. This is achieved by determining an estimate of the number of objects in the container with the aid of a value of the container volume occupied by the objects or the already emptied container volume, on the basis of an average object volume of one or of a predetermined number of the objects, as long as the container bottom is covered by objects situated in the container. When a predetermined portion of the container bottom is visible, the objects in the container are counted, by identifying the individual objects on the container bottom. In addition, a container that is particularly suitable for the proposed methods and a system with a plurality of such containers are proposed.

The can end of the invention has control features introduced which control the failure mode whilst maintaining specified buckle pressure performance. Abstract: This invention is an improvement to the shape of liquid storage tanks, in particular to unpressurized molded polymer tanks used for thermal storage in solar systems. All aspects of this invention are well suited to solar storage tanks, and individual aspects are suited to other liquid tank applications. This invention provides a formed horizontal extension at the bottom of the tank. From the top of this lower extension, a hollow vertical stub provides a reliable connection to a circulator pump. Thermal performance is enhanced by ensuring the lowest and coolest water is delivered to the array of rooftop solar collectors without entraining debris from the bottom of the tank. At the top of the tank, a similar horizontal extension is used to distribute hot water returning from the solar collectors. Flow velocity is eliminated and a curving lower edge allows return water to find the matching thermocline to avoid de-stratifying.
