  • Patent number: 5309604
Abstract: A clip device for holding flexible tubing in a coiled arrangement, where one end of the tubing is connected to an external device, such as an infusion pump. The clip has a bore formed through it at one end so that the clip may be slidably and permanently mounted on the flexible tubing. The clip also includes two C-shaped channels, one located at the bottom of the clip and the other along a side of the clip, that are sized to receive and frictionally engage the loops formed in the flexible tubing. The tubing is then coiled and firmly held in the coiled state by looping and engaging each loop in one of the C-shaped channels. The clip is capable of firmly holding the tubing in a coiled state, but the C-shaped channels are shaped and oriented on the clip such that when a user needs to use the flexible tubing, the user may pull on the free end of the flexible tubing whereby the loops are released from the C-shaped channels resulting in the uncoiling of the tubing.

Abstract: Ignition system wiring harnesses are used to carry discrete electrical signals to the fuel igniter devices of spark ignited engines. Externally mounted wiring harnesses are subjected to damage which can cause the engine to run inefficiently. The subject ignition system wiring harness extends through internal passageways in an engine block and a plurality of cylinder heads mounted thereon. The wiring harness is retained at fixed locations by a plurality of spring clip retainers, each of which has a normally flat elongate spring clip deflected around the wiring harness and slidably extending through a pair of slots in a bracket. The spring clip exerts a nearly constant force on the wiring harness as it tries to straighten to its normally flat condition regardless of the cross sectional size of the wiring harness. Thus, one size of spring clip retainer can be used for various sizes of wiring hearness.

  • Patent number: 4935992
Abstract: A plastic tube bundle clamp for securing a plurality of elongated conduit elements such as wires, tubes, or pipes functions without destructive discontinuities in the working surface of the constrictive band. The encircling plastic band terminates in a pair of shoulders, each of which includes an integral, outwardly projecting jaw. When the jaws are compressively forced together, teeth engage one another to lock the clamp. The first jaw comprises spaced apart upper and lower elements which sandwich a first slot and the second jaw comprises an upper element spaced apart from a reduced width, lower element across a second slot. When the jaws are fitted together, the upper element of the second jaw is sandwiched within the first slot, and the lower element of the first jaw is substantially sandwiched within the second slot.

  • Patent number: 4899963
Abstract: A support saddle which tethers a pipe, cable, wire, conduit or other elongate article to the support saddle, which, in turn, is fastened to a support surface, said support saddle also having a design such that it is easily and readily employable as an intermediate connecting device used to aid in the bonding of a flat surface to a round surface, or vice-versa. The support saddle can also be used with a complementing removable base so as to controllably alter the distance of the elongate article supported in the saddle from the support surface.

  • Patent number: 4893381
Abstract: A flexible strap for bundling cables, electrical wires or the like comprising two elongated tape segments of differing lengths aligned parallel to each other which are joined together along a transverse seam and which have partially overlapping, releasably interlocking faces with VELCRO.RTM. or other hook and loop type attachment means. The free end of the shorter tape segment extends longitudinally past the edge of one end of the longer tape segment. The transverse seam divides the strap so that two separate closures can be formed simultaneously between the interlocking faces. The site for one of these possible closures is at an interface between portions of the interlocking faces on the free end and on a section of the longer tape segment distal the transverse seam. This closure is provided for bundling a cable or the like.

  • Patent number: 4870722
Abstract: An improved cable clamp strip for securing wires of a cable bundle in a predetermined orientation comprising: (1) a mounting base formed of a flexible, molded plastic with notches formed in its side edges for increased flexibility in a first direction and with notches formed in its lower surface for increased flexibility in a second direction; (2) closed retaining rings fixedly positioned on the upper surface of the mounting base; (3) apertured mounting projections extending upwardly from the upper surface of the mounting base; and (4) clamping ring halves adjustably secured with respect to the mounting projections. An aperture extends through the lower end of each clamping ring half with an long ring pin positionable through the apertures and the mounting projections to secure the clamping ring halves in a predetermined orientation on the mounting base.

  • Patent number: 4856149
Abstract: A tape leash is provided to facilitate the application of masking tape, duct tape and other types of tape where large quantities of tape are to be applied. The tape leash is comprised of strap elements which may be releasably linked in pairs to form two separate loops. The strap elements in one pair are releasably secured about the wrist of a user and the free ends of the strap elements of the other pair are passed through the center opening of a roll of tape and releasably secured to each other. The roll of tape is thus linked to the wrist of the user to greatly facilitate and expedite the manual application of tape drawn from the roll.

  • Patent number: 4854015
Abstract: A loop clamp is provided for binding a wire bundle together or for attaching such a wire bundle to a support member. The loop clamp includes a base and a flexible strap having first and second surfaces on opposite sides. One surface includes a plurality of upstanding hook elements and the other surface a plurality of upstanding loop elements, each extending over a substantial area of the strap. One end of the strap is attached to the base and the other end may be passed through an opening formed in the base, thereby providing a size-adjustable loop. Respective upstanding hook and loop elements of the guided length of strap and an outer portion of the loop may be engaged, thereby fixing the size of the loop and binding wires or the like therein.

  • Patent number: 4815172
Abstract: A fastening device suitable for retaining a power cord, speaker cable, tubing or the like in bundled or coiled form is made of Velcro.TM. materials. An elongate base strip has one face covered with hooks. Three Velcro.TM. fastener segments are adhered to the opposite face of the base strip, one segment adjacent to one end of the strip, another segment adjacent to an opposite end of the strip, and an intermediate segment. The intermediate segment and one end segment are formed with complementary hook and fibrous loop fasteners which permit the fastening device itself to be secured, for example, to a power cable. The remaining end segment is formed with fibrous loop fastening material. When the power cable is bundled or coiled, the remaining segment of fibrous loop fastening material is engaged with the hooks covering the opposite face of the base strip at a location which accommodates the size of the bundle or coil to be secured.

  • Patent number: 4750241
Abstract: A cable tie comprises a metal plate 1 from which projects a metal strap 2. After the strap has been passed around a bundle of cables to be held together the free end 7 of the strap is fed below a pair of lugs 10 and 11 and a bridge portion 3 and is then bent back over the bridge portion 3. Finally, the free end portion 7 is manipulated below the lugs 10 and 11 by first sliding one edge of the strap below the lug 10 so that it can then pass beyond the outer edge of the lug 11. When the strap is moved to lie in the normal longitudinal position it will be held securely below the two lugs 10 and 11. The lugs 10 and 11 are displaced longitudinally and their supports may also be directed outwardly as shown. An additional upstanding lug can be provided opposite the lug 11 to help to prevent undue lateral movement of the end of the strap 2.
