Abstract: Computational enclosures may be designed to distribute power from power supplies to load units (e.g., processors, storage devices, or network routers). The architecture may affect the efficiency, cost, modularity, accessibility, and space utilization of the components within the enclosure. Presented herein are power distribution architectures involving a distribution board oriented along a first (e.g., vertical) axis within the enclosure, comprising a power interconnect configured to distribute power among a set of load boards oriented along a second (e.g., lateral) axis and respectively connecting with a set of load units oriented along a third (e.g., sagittal) axis, and a set of power supplies also oriented along the third axis. This orientation may compactly and proximately position the loads near the power supplies in the distribution system, and result in a comparatively low local current that enables the use of printed circuit boards for the distribution board and load boards.

A user input is coupled to the frame member and includes a terminal electrically coupled to the frame connector. A circuit board is received in the component cavity and is operably coupled to the user interface. The circuit board is electrically connected to the frame connector at a separable interface. The user input can pick up a signal from anywhere on the electronic device based on an action of touching, handling or placing and process that signal to cause a predetermined effect. The signal from the user input is transferred to the user interface via the frame connector and the circuit board.

A protective membrane for an electronic device includes a sheet of engineered thermoplastic having dimensions corresponding to features of a surface of the electronic device, and has a combination of sufficient thinness and a dielectric constant that together permit capacitive inputs on a front side of the protective membrane to be transmitted to the capacitance sensing interactive control panel. The protective cover and/or the protective membrane include a metalized coating or metallic additive.

Abstract: A computer system that has an outer shape that is round in outer cross-section. The computer housing can be formed of first and second housing parts that are each round in outer cross-section where one unscrews relative to another like taking the lid off a jar. The inside of the housing can store various kinds of nonvolatile memory and a processor. The user's entire processing environment may be stored within the memory and processor, and part of that environment may include stylesheet that represents specific styles of the user.
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with an ejectable component assembly having a connector that can receive and retain a removable module within a housing of the electronic device. The ejectable component assembly may also be provided with an ejector mechanism for at least partially ejecting the removable module from the connector. The ejector mechanism may receive a user input force at an ejector user interface, translate that user input force into an ejection force, and apply that ejection force onto the removable module for ejecting the module. The ejector user interface may be provided at any suitable position of the housing that may not interfere with other functions of the device. The path along which the ejector mechanism translates the user input force into the ejection force between the ejector user interface and the removable module may be provided in any suitable way throughout the device.

Abstract: A server rack according to the present invention mounts a plurality of servers. Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to techniques and configurations for an integrated circuit (IC) package having an underfill layer with filler particles arranged in a generally random distribution pattern. In some embodiments, a generally random distribution pattern of filler particles may be obtained by reducing an electrostatic charge on one or more components of the IC package assembly, by applying a surface treatment to filler to reduce filler electrical charge, by applying an electric force against the filler particles of the underfill material in a direction opposite to a direction of gravitational force, by using an underfill material with a relatively low maximum filler particle size, and/or by snap curing the underfill layer at a relatively low temperature. Abstract: A combination support base and printer apparatus for use with laptop and other portable computers is easy to carry and particularly configured for letter or larger sized paper. The invention comprises a base having a bottom wall and a plurality of peripherally disposed upstanding walls that define paper storage and printer compartments, a lid to enclose one or both compartments, an upwardly disposed support surface on the lid for placement of the laptop thereon and a printer module disposed inside the printer compartment to print on paper pulled from the paper storage compartment. The support surface can be configured with various non-slip materials to reduce the laptop slipping relative to the lid. An attachment mechanism can be utilized to clamp the laptop to the lid. Side wings can be used to effectively expand the width of the support surface. A paper sizing mechanism can adjust for different paper sizes.
Abstract: A multi-rack assembly is provided which includes adjacent first and second electronics racks, each being at least partially air-cooled, and an air-to-liquid heat exchanger associated with the first rack for cooling at least a portion of air passing through the first rack. The heat exchanger, which is disposed at the air inlet or air outlet side of the first rack and is coupled in fluid communication with a coolant loop to receive coolant from the loop and exhaust coolant to the loop, transfers heat from air passing thereacross to coolant passing therethrough. The assembly also includes a cooling unit, associated with the first rack and cooling coolant in the coolant loop, and an airflow director associated with the second rack and facilitating ducting at least a portion of air passing through the second rack to also pass across the heat exchanger associated with the first rack.
