Abstract: Methods and apparatus to respond to monitor subscriber activity are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a first set of client telephone number (TN) data associated with a client and a current time period, and receiving a second set of client TN data associated with a prior time period. The example method also includes receiving a first set of subscriber activity data associated with the current time period, identifying a TN that is in the first set of subscriber activity data and is absent from at least one of the first or second sets of client TN data, and identifying the TN with at least one of a new inroad for a competitor or a new inroad for the client based on at least one activity code from the first set of subscriber activity data.

Abstract: A method of accessing a dedicated phone or Internet service at a remote location includes providing a system having a terminal, a phone, and a USB stick that is adapted to be used with a data-only communication device. The terminal has a phone jack that is coupled to a dedicated phone service line for use with the phone, a data jack that is coupled to a dedicated Internet service, and a connector that is adapted to receive a cable that is connected to a satellite dish for uplink and downlink communication with an orbiting satellite. Each of the phone and the USB stick are provided with an identification footprint that is unique to the terminal. The terminal is positioned at a first location. When the phone and/or the USB stick are moved to a remote location, voice and data signals corresponding to the dedicated phone service line and the dedicated Internet service can be communicated from the terminal to the phone and/or USB stick at the remote location via an antenna and the orbiting satellite.

Abstract: The system and method store an address of a communication device (e.g., a telephone number). A system access code of a user and a user access code are also stored (e.g., in a profile). The user access code is associated with the system access code. The user access code is used to simplify access to a conference. A call request with the address is received from the communication device to join a conference. In response to receiving the call request to join the conference, a request for a conference access code is sent to the user. The conference access code is received from the user. In response to receiving the conference access code, the conference access code is compared with the user access code. In response to the conference access code and the user access code matching, the user is logged into the conference using the system access code.

Abstract: A method for accessing and interacting with an interactive telecommunications service system according to one embodiment can include activating a programming mode, and entering a plurality of keystrokes to create a keyed sequence where the keyed sequence can include a telephone number and a menu response sequence. The menu response sequence can control the menu driven portion of the telecom service system after the device is connected via a telecommunications network. The keyed sequence can include delays between each of the plurality of keystrokes. The delays can be recorded and a session identifier can also be recorded. The keyed sequence can be associated with the delays and the session identifier in response to the activated programming mode. Access to the service and results from a service request can be automated.

Abstract: A system for managing customer involvement with a contact center involves one or more monitoring applications executing on one or more computerized servers associated with the contact center, the applications monitoring communications between individual customers and the center; and a rules engine executing on the one or more computerized servers, the rules engine accessible to the monitoring application, the rules engine enabled to generate and implement business rules. Upon detection by one of the monitoring applications of an instance of unsuccessful or incomplete interaction between a customer and the contact center, session data determined during monitoring is used by the rules engine to determine contact center-initiated activity to be implemented to establish new communication with the customer to resolve issues related to the unsuccessful or incomplete interaction.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, in which a first telephone number is associated with a second telephone number, and a web-based advertisement is served for an advertiser that includes the first telephone number. In response to the do-not-disturb feature being implemented, notification of an incoming communication is suspended during playback of the media content.

Abstract: A suppression override engine on a user device may be configured to detect communication alert suppressions. An incoming communication from a third party may be detected. Upon detecting the communication, the suppression override engine can override the communication alert suppression if it determines that the incoming communication is responsive to a prior communication from the user device. By overriding the alert suppression the user is then alerted to the incoming communication.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for machine-type communication (MTC) in a wireless communication system. An MTC device receives, from a base station, a notification message which notifies of the reception of an MTC message, and transmits a reception confirmation message indicating whether or not the MTC message is received.

Abstract: Methods and systems for establishing a computer-enhanced conference call are disclosed. Methods and systems consistent with the present invention establish a computer-enhanced conference call between a plurality of users, including an initiating user. A service center detects a computer-enhanced conference call event that was previously configured by the initiating user. Conference users associated with the computer-enhanced conference call event are thereafter contacted. After at least one response from the conference users is received, a conference call between the initiating user and the conference users is established based on the at least one received response. The service center also establishes a collaboration between the initiating user and conference users that are authorized to participate in the collaboration.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for setting a wireless terminal for a service are disclosed. The wireless terminal automatically sends identification information to a server by dialing a predetermined number. Upon receiving the identification information, the server finds customer information corresponding to the identification information, and determines one or more services which are available on the wireless terminal. The server sends service information indicating the available services. The wireless terminal displays a list of the available services, and upon detecting a selection of an available service, sends a request to transfer an application program for setting up the selected service to the server. The wireless terminal executes the downloaded application program and displays guidance for setting up the available service. In response to user inputs based on the displayed guidance, the selected service is activated and set-up in the wireless terminal.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for automatic correction of numeric input, such as telephone numbers. The communications device configured to perform automatic correction can receive a numeric input string indicating a numerical address with which to initiate a communication, and compare the numeric input string to a database of known valid numerical addresses. Then, upon determining that the numeric input string has no match within the database of known valid numerical addresses, the communications device can identify a known valid numerical address that is within a threshold similarity to the numeric input string, and correct the numeric input string. The communications device can initiate communication using the corrected numeric input string. Also set forth herein are a system and method for automatic completion of partially entered numerical addresses.

Abstract: A system and method for incremental do-not-disturb. User input is received to activate the incremental do-not-disturb on a telephone. The incremental do-not-disturb is activated for a time period in response to receiving the user input to activate the incremental do-not-disturb. Incoming calls are diverted during the time period in response to activating the incremental do-not-disturb.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing a call to an aggregate endpoint device over a network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a session request by a Serving-Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF), wherein a route header for the session request comprises an aggregate endpoint identifier, and interacts with an application server to receive a Public User Identity (PUID) of the aggregate endpoint device in accordance with the aggregate endpoint identifier. The method performs a termination processing for the session request using the PUID of the aggregate endpoint device, and forwards the session request towards the aggregate endpoint device.

Permissions associated with the individual are reviewed to determine if the individual is allowed to perform the communication control operation. If the individual is allowed, the communication control operation is performed. If the individual is not allowed, a denial indicator may be provided.

An outbound call is generated from the call bridging system and the inbound and the outbound calls are bridged. One or more parameters of the bridged call are compared to the call quality rating. An indication is recorded regarding the successful bridging of the calls in association with an entity identifier.

Abstract: Context-based call routing is provided in a unified communication system by enabling subscribers to define a routing document, which is published by the communication system to callers who subscribe to a presence of the called party. Through publication of the context-based routing information, callers are enabled to make selections between call destination options as defined by the caller and provide a subject for the requested call. The call is then routed by the system according to the caller selection allowing efficient facilitation of the communication between the caller and the called party or their designees.

Abstract: In a contact center, agents are assigned to support customers using various media, such as audio, video, and/or text communications. The various media types have a related application. The mediums that an agent can support are determined. In addition, an agent has devices that are available for use by the agent. For example, the agent may have a cellular telephone and a tablet device available for use. The related application(s) are associated with the devices available for use by the agent based on a capability of at least one device. This is done in relation to the medium(s) supported by the agent. For example, an audio application can be associated with a cellular telephone and a text application can be associated with a tablet device. As the devices or mediums supported by the agent changes, the system can re-associate the related application(s) based on the new configuration.

A visual interactive voice response server determines whether a session identifier database includes a session identifier that is associated with a first device. The visual interactive voice response server initiates the visual interactive voice response session with the first device when the session identifier database includes the session identifier that is associated with the first device. The session identifier that is associated with the first device is removed from the session identifier database when the visual interactive voice response session is terminated.

Abstract: A conference control server accesses a calendar server in order to identify calls scheduled by an organizer and to facilitate initiation of the calls at the scheduled time. A method for integrating the calendar server and the conference control server includes identifying a plurality of resources, which each have a resource identifier, and registering to receive notifications of updates to those resources. If update notifications are received, the conference control server determines meeting information for a scheduled conference indicated by the update notifications. The conference control server may also provide a portion of the meeting information to a resource identified by the meeting information.

Abstract: A topic is associated with a temporary communications address such as a temporary telephone number. This assignment may be effected by the user when the temporary address is obtained by the user. Illustratively, a user who simultaneously uses a plurality of temporary addresses associates a different topic with each of those addresses. When a caller calls the temporary address, the call is redirected to the user's real address and the user receives the topic that is associated with that temporary address, and preferably also the called temporary address itself, along with the redirected call, and this information is either displayed or announced to the user. The information provides context for the call to the user, and may optionally be captured in call logs. Illustratively, when the user initiates a call via the temporary address or the topic, the temporary address or the topic is provided to the called party as the caller ID information. The user's identity is thus kept secret.

The application is auto-started, at which time it self-configures using the original message.

Abstract: A system and method is provided for automatically generating an interactive voice response (IVR) application flow from recorded audio files of calls to or from an IVR system. The method includes identifying an IVR state sequence for each of a plurality of calls from recorded audio files of the calls. The N most common state sequences are identified for the IVR system for the plurality of calls. An application flow is then displayed for the IVR application using the N most common state sequences.

Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure involve an apparatus, system and/or method for a central hub of a telecommunications network to provide varying services for a received communication intended for varying telecommunications networks. In one embodiment, the central service hub receives the communication and provides the varying services for the communication based on information concerning the communication, such as the intended telecommunication network. In another embodiment, the central service hub analyzes the communication and determines to which telecommunications network the communication should be routed to apply the appropriate network services. The central service hub may comprise a softswitch, media gateway controller device or other telecommunications device that includes programming, such as an application programming interface (API), configured to receive and process the incoming communications.

Abstract: A call contention manager mediates between call contentions that occur when two callers attempt to place a telephone call to one another at approximately the same time. The call contention manager may be implemented in or separate from a mobile switching center. The manager detects a call contention between two calls, and it determines whether the call contention is taking place in a window of time that follows shortly after at least one of the callers was involuntarily dropped from a call. If a call contention occurs within such a call drop window, it is resolved according to a post-drop protocol that enables a connection between the callers. If, however, the call contention occurs outside any call drop window, it is resolved without establishing a connection between the callers, for example by sending one or more of the contending calls to voicemail.
