  • Patent number: 7713767
Abstract: A method of making a circuitized substrate (e.g., PCB) including at least one and possibly several internal optical pathways as part thereof such that the resulting substrate will be capable of transmitting and/or receiving both electrical and optical signals. The method involves forming at least one opening between a side of the optical core and an adjacent upstanding member such that the opening is defined by at least one angular sidewall. Light passing through the optical core material (or into the core from above) is reflected off this angular sidewall. The medium (e.g., air) within the opening thus also serves as a reflecting medium due to its own reflective index in comparison to that of the adjacent optical core material. The method utilizes many processes used in conventional PCB manufacturing, thereby keeping costs to a minimum.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electrophotoconductive element comprising a conductive substrate, a charge generation layer including a charge generating compound and a charge transport layer. The charge generation layer includes a first polymer resin and second polymer resin to provide a blend including the charge generating compound. The first polymer resin may therefore indicate an energy at a half charge potential E0.5(POLYMER) upon exposure to light at a wavelength of about 350-500 nm. The blend then also indicates an energy at half charge potential E0.5(BLEND) upon exposure to light at a wavelength of about 350-500 nm. The second polymer resin of the blend is therefore selected to provide that E0.5(BLEND)<E0.5(POLYMER).

Abstract: An aspect of the present invention provides a method of manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor. The method includes forming at least one layer selected from the group consisting of an undercoat layer, a photosensitive layer, and a protective layer, by jetting by an inkjet method a first coating liquid and a second coating liquid from liquid drop discharging heads which are different from each other, and mixing the first coating liquid and the second coating liquid on a conductive substrate. The first coating liquid and the second coating liquid react with each other when they are mixed.
