Abstract: A method and system for immersion cleaning of mechanical parts which includes a continuous conveyor having a plurality of vertical conveyor runs which pass through one or more cleaning tanks. Each cleaning tank includes at least two turbulent wash zones. Pivotal parts carriers are supported by the conveyor and are loaded at a parts loading station and are unloaded at a parts discharge station.
Abstract: A security device includes a security tag and a monitoring circuit for monitoring an electrical characteristic of a conductive track formed on a flexible substrate of the tag. The substrate includes an adhesive backing for bonding the substrate to a surface, the elasticity of the substrate and the bonding strength of the adhesive being selected such that, with the substrate adhesively bonded to the surface, the force required to stretch the substrate is less than the adhesive bonding force holding the substrate against the surface.
Abstract: A hair clip including a substantially rigid base plate as well as a toric elastic element wherein the base plate includes, at a first lateral end, an element for removably securing the elastic element to the base plate by clipping and, at a second lateral end, a hook for removably hooking the elastic element. The base plate has a curved profile so as to form, with the elastic element, an interior volume for retaining hair.
Abstract: A hitch ball assembly which includes a housing adapted to be movably mounted within a conventional hitch receiver associated with a towing vehicle wherein a shock absorber is mounted within the housing and which is connected to a pivotable lever having a free end extending outwardly of the housing. A brake cable is connected between the free end of the lever and a brake pedal of a towed vehicle such that the brake pedal is applied by the cable whenever forces are developed by the towed vehicle in the direction of the towing vehicle.
Abstract: A sporting gun cartridge and wad therefor wherein such wad, generally taking the form of a shotshell wad for shotguns, for example, includes a first, forwardly oriented cylindrical portion and also a second, rearwardly oriented cylindrical portion, joining the first portion at a common partition juncture, wherein the side wall of the first portion is scored to provided a series of expandable and separable wall segments, spaced from the forward end of such first portion, whereby to afford relief from impaction of shot disposed within said first portion under firing conditions.
Abstract: A top head rotary drive and mast assembly for drilling which is adapted to be readily mounted on a derrick of a conventional truck, crawler or other vehicle so as to be movable from a stored position adjacent the derrick to a deployed position spaced from the derrick for drilling. The mast is adapted to be pivotally connected by at least one upper support arm to the derrick of the vehicle. The deployment and retraction of the mast and the top head rotary drive relative to the derrick are accomplished utilizing either a control device for moving a holding plate which is movable along the mast and to which the top head rotary drive is mounted or by separate lifting device. The invention is also directed to a combination top head drive and mast assembly and drilling rig and method for their use.
Abstract: A high power factor electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps having low lamp current peak ratio and which includes a bridge rectifier for rectifying a commercial power supply voltage, a high frequency oscillator using an output voltage from a bridge rectifier as its supply voltage, a first supplementary power source to supply the high frequency oscillator a voltage by superimposing two supplementary voltages generated from a portion of high frequency current in a load on the output voltage from the bridge rectifier, and a second supplementary power source to supply the high frequency oscillator a direct offset voltage generated from a portion of high frequency current in the load to improve the input current waveform of the bridge rectifier.
Abstract: A pole or the like formed by an anchoring member and a vertical member which are linked by a linking piece having a zone of lower resistance to force. Block members are provided at the opposite ends of the anchoring member and the vertical member each of which has a central bore for receiving the linking piece and at least one of the block members has a surface slopping from its center towards it periphery such that a space between the opposite block members is greater at the periphery of the pole than at its center.
Abstract: A holding and support element for electric irons which includes a protective support formed of a heat insulating material which may be placed against an ironing plate and which includes a bottom wall and side walls which are formed to define a housing for receiving the ironing plate such that the support will remain secured to the ironing plate regardless of movement of the ironing to thereby prevent injury from accidental contact with the ironing plate.
Abstract: An electronic power device including at least one sub-system supporting power modules, a capacitor battery connectable to an electrical power supply and being connected to the power modules. The capacitor battery includes one or more capacitors which when a plurality are provided are disposed in parallel between first and second connection plates. Each sub-system has a first face supporting at least one first power module and a second face for supporting at least one second power module and wherein the first plate is connected to each first power module and the second plate is connected to each second power module.

Abstract: A method of forming a stator for an electrical actuator of a type which may be used in weaving looms and weaving systems wherein a stack of armature plates having two-spaced sections are initially wrapped with an electrically conductive wire to create two coils afterwhich the stack is folded to sever severable bridge elements of the stack and to form an armature to include a tubular housing for a rotor.
