Abstract: A peg feeder and method of feeding moist grain from a steam chamber to a grain flaking mill. The feeder includes an inlet flow divider baffle for separating the grain into two flow channels each of which includes an adjustable valve door for controlling flow. The two flow channels include secondary baffles for directing the moist grain to opposite sides of a pair of spaced feed rollers which are mounted so as to converge the flow of grain from the two channels at a central discharge outlet. Access to the interior of the peg feeder is provided by removable panels and underlying safety grates.

Abstract: A forearm splint system and method of use for treatment and prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome and other cumulative trauma disorders including adjustable tensioning means causes rotation of two curved, semi-rigid pieces of material within the splint system. The rotation causes rotation and repositioning of the distal radius and ulna bones, resulting in widening of the carpal tunnel, decreased compression of the median nerve, and improved frictionless gliding and sliding of the flexor tendons.
Abstract: A doorstop for use with swingable doors to prevent unauthorized entry into an area which includes a brace member pivotally connected to a base. The brace has an end for engaging the floor when the doorstop is in use. An angular orientation of the brace relative to the base is controlled by a lock bar having a T-shaped head connected by a shank to an enlarged inner end which is seated in non-rotational relationship to the base after being inserted in a first orientation through aligned slots in the base and brace member and then rotated to seat within the base.
Abstract: A safety device for a power saw, such as a miter saw, includes an interference stop mounted on the frame or other support of the saw. The stop prevents a lower pivotal blade guard of the saw from being pushed away from a covering relationship with respect to the saw blade when the saw is moved from a "cutting" position to a fully raised "home" position, thereby preventing accidental exposure of the saw blade.

Abstract: A process for manufacturing ammonium salts using a reactor which includes a first tubular reaction chamber having at least one acid feed and at least on ammonia feed which are arranged in a first up-stream part of the reactor. At least one second ammonia feed is introduced into a second part of the reactor which is arranged as an extension of the first and which includes, in a flow direction, a convergent segment, a cylindrical tube and a divergent segment. The second ammonia feed communicates with the second part in the vicinity of the convergent segment and the processes is controlled to obtain basic vapors at an outlet of the reactor.

Abstract: An electrical rotating apparatus for controlling a harness cord associated with the shed of a weaving loom which includes an actuator including a rotor and a stator. The rotor is formed of at least two permanent magnets which are mounted within a tube so as to be spaced axially with respect to one another and wherein a plurality of stator elements are also provided offset axially relative to an axis of rotation of the rotor such that each of the plurality of rotors corresponds with a separate one of the plurality of stators. The polarities of one or the other of the permanent magnets or the stator elements are offset angularly relative to the axis of rotation.

Abstract: A two-phase or mono-phase heat-exchanger for at least one electronic power component wherein the heat-exchanger supports a plurality of heat exchange tubes, each having a heat exchange fluid therein, and wherein said heat-exchanger includes at least one rigid plate provided with zones for receiving portions of the heat exchange tubes and wherein the heat-exchanger includes opposite edges which are formed so as to be secured to edges of adjacent heat-exchangers in such a manner that front and rear surfaces of the at least one rigid plate of each heat exchange unit are coplanar when one heat-exchanger is secured to an adjacent heat-exchanger.
Abstract: Apparatus (1) for testing items of metal such as jewelry comprises a housing (3) which is closed at one end (3a) and partly open at the other end (3b). Sealed within the housing is an insert comprising a reservoir (5) containing a testing chemical and an applicator (7). The applicator extends into the reservoir (5) and projects from the housing through its partly open end (3b). The outer surface of the applicator (7) projecting from the housing forms a tip which is used to apply the testing chemical to the surface of the metal under test.
