Abstract: Systems and methods for cleaning and operating gas cleaning devices using vibration generators wherein the systems include sensors and programs for monitoring and predicting resonant conditions of different surface areas and zones in order to vary the frequency and amplitude of vibrations to establish optimum resonant conditions on such surface areas or zones and thereby optimize cleaning and operation of such gas cleaning devices.
Abstract: A humeral prosthesis of such a type that is provided with a rod intended to be anchored in the humeral canal of a patient, a metaphyseal element extending the rod upward and towards the inside, being this metaphyseal element attached at an area of connection to a flange that serves as support for a generally hemispheric cap capable of interacting with the shoulder socket. The area of connection is arranged approximately along a median line of the mentioned flange and the area of connection extends only over a portion of the mentioned median line so as to establish outside of the area of connection, or outside of a portion of the area of connection, a clearance zone for the joining and fusing of the osseous fragments of the metaphysis.
Abstract: A prosthesis for anchoring in a long bone wherein the prosthesis includes a stem adapted to be inserted in a medullary cavity of the bone and from which extends a metaphyseal part which is connected to a flange for bearing on a metaphysis of the bone at a zone of connection. The flange also includes spaced openings for passage of a tool for cutting a reconstituted metaphysis of the bone.
Abstract: An auxiliary wheel assembly for temporarily supporting one side of a trailer frame wherein the assembly includes a wheel carried by a support tube and wherein clamping elements are used for securing the tube to and directly beneath the frame without interfering with the structural integrity of the frame. The assembly also includes a flexible reinforcing member which is adapted to extend between frame members on opposite side of the trailer to prevent twisting of the frame.
Abstract: This invention relates to a heat exchanger for a vehicle with an internal combustion engine and an exhaust pipe extending from the internal combustion engine having a main member with a first end and a second end. The main member has an exhaust passageway extending therethrough from said first end to said second end and, as well, a heat recovery chamber with an inlet opening for the introduction of heat recovery fluid into the heat recovery chamber and an outlet opening for the exiting of heat recovery fluid from the heat recovery chamber. The heat recovery chamber is of a proximity to the exhaust passageway to permit the withdrawing of heat from exhaust fluid passing through the exhaust passageway by liquid coolant entering through the inlet opening, flowing through the heat recovery chamber and out of the outlet opening during the operation of the vehicle.
Abstract: A portable electrically operable and tamper resistant medication dispenser for supplying multiple daily medications to a patient on a predetermined schedule and which includes a programmable assembly for indexing a plurality of containers which are filled with the medications to a dispenser outlet.
Abstract: A credit card case has a sectioned structure providing capacity for two or four or more credit cards. Each section provides an area to receive and store two cards and includes an outer panel with a smaller central opening, an inner panel with a larger central opening, and a central dividing panel to separate the cards. The central dividing panel is longer than the inner and outer panels so as to provide a receiving area for the cards. The inner side walls of the card holding areas are tapered near the receiving area to further provide for easy insertion. A separation and retention means is provided towards the top of each card holding area to further assist with card insertion and to prevent unintentional card removal.
Abstract: An acoustic transducer with partially driven area of the diaphragm such that the driving forces are asymmetric with respect to the frame axis of symmetry or angled with respect to edges of diaphragm support frame to provide uniform frequency response of the transducer. The elongate magnet sections surround portions of the diaphragm with a fringing magnetic field within which a circuit of conductor strips is positioned such that selectively excited vibration modes of the diaphragm provide a smooth frequency response.
Abstract: A mounting connector for suspending articles such as fenders from the life lines and life rails in boats provides a secure attachment while enabling rapid disengagement or adjustment in the position of the fender. The mounting connector includes a hook arrangement which hooks onto the life line or life rail and includes a blocker which can be inserted into the hook to prevent accidental disengagement. The fender line passes through two closely spaced parallel holes in the body portion of the connector and can be readily adjusted lengthwise relative to these holes when the connector is moved to a horizontal position, but which bind with such holes when in normal suspended condition.
Abstract: A connector for a drawing mechanism including at least one tubular connecting rod of flattened cross section for connecting the connecting rod to a rocking lever of a heddle mechanism wherein the connector includes two cheeks adapted to be disposed on opposite sides of the lever and where at least two generally parallel pins include first ends which are welded to inner faces of the cheeks. The pins include second ends adapted to be connected within the connecting rod and which second ends are spaced from the first ends by a deformable portion of each pin.
Abstract: A compact and portable unit for generating and releasing of steam in a steam cleaner wherein the cleaner is linear and tubularly shaped having an upper end functioning as a handle. The unit includes an internal boiler including a resistance heater which is operatively controlled to prevent overheating depending upon lack of water within the unit and the displacement of water from the heater during the use of the cleaner. The cleaner may be utilized with conventional cleaning attachments or accessories.
Abstract: A process for controlling the water content in products stored in an enclosure wherein the process includes measuring at at least one point within the product a value which represents a partial pressure of water vapor at the point within the product when the product is in a state of equilibrium and comparing the measured value with a range of reference values and thereafter modifying the atmosphere within the enclosure if the measured value falls outside a predetermined range.
