Abstract: A toilet bowl brush and wall mounted enclosure device therefore, comprising a sanitary brush having a telescopically extensible handle and a rigid head at one end with its bristle face inclined with respect to the axis of said handle. A semi-spherical flange surrounds the portion of the handle adjoining said head adapted to eccentrically suspend said brush from a bracket on the door of said device with respect to the pivotal mountings of the door thereof so as to normally maintain said door in closed position over said sanitary brush in the wall in which the device is mounted.
Abstract: What follows is a description of a unique hammer for driving pile members onshore or offshore, an apparatus for driving pile members offshore, and a method of driving a pile member.The hammer includes a displaceable ram structure which is reciprocated by a pressurized working fluid against a pile member-engaging anvil structure. The anvil structure is preloaded by a quantity of fluid compressed by the ram structure in the course of its impact delivering displacement. This preload causes the anvil structure to also be displaced in the impact delivering direction, but at a lower rate than the ram structure.
Abstract: A chopper-stabilized power supply which comprises a switching transistor connected with an integrating filter between a source of unstabilized d.c. energy and a load circuit. A voltage comparator compares the output voltage of the supply to a reference voltage and delivers a rectangular control signal to a control transistor which controls the base current of the switching transistor. In the collector-emitter circuit of the control transistor, there is provided an inductor which is the primary winding of a transformer, the transformer also comprising a secondary winding connected in series with a diode to the base of the switching transistor for neutralizing the charge carriers present in the junction at each cut-off of the current of the control transistor.
Abstract: An optical rail system is provided in which the rails have top and bottom bearing surfaces and locating surfaces at about sixty degrees to the horizontal. The rails are clamped together at angles to each other and optical devices are secured to the rails by carriers. The clamping means and carriers have grooves with walls corresponding to the bearing and locating surfaces.
Abstract: A fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine has a main fuel valve formed by a needle urged against a valve seat by a spring and also includes a solenoid to pull the valve needle away from the seat for fuel metering purposes. In addition, the valve has an extension in which a pestle with two enlarged ends is axially carried in two spring support cups. The enlarged ends of the pestle also act as valves in such a manner that even low fuel-flow causes a fluttering of the pestle, resulting in good fuel atomization.
Abstract: Transmission for tractors comprising an input shaft rotatably supported by a casing having means defining openings therein, a second speed change shaft disposed coaxially with the input shaft and rotatably supported at its opposite ends by further means defining openings in the casing, and speed change gears positioned outside the casing to operatively connect the input shaft and a first speed change shaft.
Abstract: What follows is a description of various exemplary embodiments of a fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine with exhaust gas recycling controlled by a throttle valve situated in the suction tube of the system. The throttle valve is in turn controlled by a servomotor having a displaceable piston connected to the throttle valve. The piston is displaceable against a variable restoring force exerted against it and produces displacements of the throttle valve between two positions, one corresponding to a fully opened position of the throttle valve and closed exhaust gas recycling line, and the other corresponding to a substantially closed throttle valve.

Abstract: The present invention relates to reciprocal junction devices between independent coaxial lines and concentric coaxial lines. As many elementary junctions as there are independent lines, less one, are required. Each elementary junction involves a two-wire line zone and two parts which establish a progressive transition between the two-wire line and, at one end, the independent coaxial line and, at the other end, the concentric coaxial lines.
Abstract: The roller shaft which actuates a pumping element in a fuel injection pump is secured against unintentional release during transport by elastic elements, preferably spring wire parts, whose one end engages a stationary portion of the fuel supply pump and whose other end engages a recess or cutout in the roller shaft and cooperates with a shoulder or stop therein to prevent unintentional drop-out while permitting a normal reciprocating motion after installation. Suitable openings and grooves provided in the roller shaft guide can hold and orient the spring wire.
Abstract: A ring spinning or twisting machine has rotating rings which are equipped with metallic flanges. Each ring has an associated permanent magnet device which can be moved to the vicinity of the flange so that the magnetic field interacts with it and generates eddy currents which tend to decelerate the rotating ring. The permanent magnets are mounted on a common sliding rod which is actuated by a servomotor. The displacement is such that each magnet moves substantially parallel to the plane of the flange and may occupy a position where the magnetic field is laterally adjacent to the flange and does not interact with it.
Abstract: A spinning machine with a plurality of spinning locations or stations is equipped with automatic or semi-automatic spool-changing mechanisms. The machine also has a servicing device, designed for travel along the machine and for repairing thread breakages at some particular spinning location. The presence of this servicing device or carriage at a spinning location would interfere with the operation of the spool-changing mechanism. A controller delivers signals to an appropriate receiver in the servicing device and causes it to depart to a neutral zone at the end of the machine.
Abstract: The invention relates to packaging machines wherein a web of flexible material is transformed into a tube, filled, sealed and discharged onto a conveyor mechanism, the completed package being then transported to a positioning device where it is deposited in a shipping case.The packaging and shipping case loading machines are coordinated by a plurality of sensor means which preclude the necessity of an operator having to start and stop the machines when a filled shipping case is removed from the platform and supplanted by an empty one.

Abstract: A fuel injection control apparatus provides electrical pulses whose length determines the amount of fuel supplied to the injection valves of the engine. These pulses can be extended by a circuit including a temperature dependent resistor when the engine has not reached operational temperature. This same mechanism is utilized to lengthen the fuel delivery control pulses even when the engine is warmed up, i.e., under hot-start conditions, by connecting a switching transistor in series with the temperature-dependent resistor that monitors the engine temperature. If, while the engine is hot, the starter motor is being cranked longer than a predetermined length of time, the switching transistor turns off and causes the fuel injection pulse to be lengthened, thereby supplying additional fuel to the engine to overcome a possible fuel vapor lock.

Abstract: Device for grilling and broiling food comprising an electrically heated lower plate member adjacent to one end of which is provided an upstanding turret element on which an upper plate member, also electrically heated, is pivotally and adjustably supported so as to perform the cooking operation without, as a consequence exerting any pressure on the food product. Further modified embodiments disclosed herein reveal various concepts for supporting the upper plate member in an adjustable manner.
Abstract: A false twisting machine for textile yarn has a thread supply rack and a thread wind-up mechanism which are located on the base of the machine. These components, as well as the false-twisting device and the various thread draw roller mechanisms are all accessible from the base of the machine via a corridor formed between the various components. The machine also has heaters which are located above the other components and may be accessible by a separate service platform located at a higher level. Two machines may be mounted adjacent one another in a mirror symmetry.
Abstract: Rotary valve comprising a rotatable stem having a valve disk fixed thereto and disposed within a valve case, a slidable tube and a rotatable tubular member each positioned coaxially with the stem and connected to the valve case, first screw-thread means for holding the stem and the slidable tube in screw-thread engagement with each other, and second screw-thread means for holding the slidable tube and the tubular member in screw-thread engagement with each other, the first screw-thread means having a larger lead angle than the second screw-thread means, so that the rotation of the tubular member rotates the stem of the valve disk.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for micro-finish machining of cylindrical or conical surfaces on workpieces, and in particular the raceways of cylindrical or tapered roller bearings using a honing tool. The honing tool is subjected to two distinct motions in a direction parallel to the transverse direction of the surface of the raceway to be machined. One of the motions, the first oscillation, has a short stroke relative to the width of the surface to be machined, while the other motion extends over the entire width of the surface to be machined. The two motions are superimposed for achieving a surface contour of the raceway so that during full loading of the bearing, the raceway is subjected to approximately uniform surface pressure over the entire width of the raceway.
Abstract: An internal combustion engine which is provided with an exhaust gas treatment system, such as thermal or catalytic reactors, includes a primary regulating system for admitting fresh air to the exhaust system for the chemical processes taking place in the reactors. This fresh air regulation depends on the engine rpm and on the induction tube pressure. There is also provided a secondary air control system, including a three-way valve and an electronic controller and an oxygen probe, located in the exhaust manifold. The probe supplies the controller with a signal related to the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas and the controller uses this signal to actuate the three-way valve which admits either induction tube pressure or, alternatively, exhaust system pressure, to a control chamber in the primary regulating system, thereby influencing the quantity of fresh air supplied to the exhaust manifold of the engine.
Abstract: A system for feeding powder in spray form to a device associated with a machine which transports products to be sprayed. The device associated with the machine is arranged to spray powder on the work surface in a controlled zone with the system being operated to receive surplus powder from the work zone and return it to storage for re-use.
