Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel regulator for internal combustion engines provided with a fuel injection system and with an adjusting member that operates preferably in dependence on the rpm, which moves the control rod of the fuel metering system via an intermediate lever. The intermediate lever is mounted on the pin of a bell-crank and effects an independent movement of the fuel control rod. The controller further includes a correcting device through which the position of the pin and thus the position of the fuel control rod can be changed independently and as a function of at least one operational variable, preferably the atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: A syringe for injecting fluid into a body or for removing body fluids is coupled to move together with the piston of a double acting hydraulic actuator having two chambers. For the purpose of aspirating fluid into the syringe, the second chamber of the actuator has within it a liquifiable gas which exerts a constant pressure on the piston. The expulsion of fluid from the syringe is accomplished by the admission of a hydraulic medium under pressure to the first chamber of the actuator. The apparatus also includes a calibrating mechanism which preselects a quantity of hydraulic medium proportional to the quantity of fluid to be expelled from the syringe.
Abstract: A shrouded rotor blade annulus for a double flow centripetal turbine stage, comprising a center row of radial blades and two end rows of axial blades mounted on the periphery of a turbine rotor disc or drum, and two segmented annular shrouds, each covering the top of an axial blade row and one side of the radial blade row, with the shroud segments being integral with the axial blades. In an alternate embodiment, the radial blades are integral with shroud segments forming the side portion of the two shrouds adjacent these radial blades and the axial blades are integral with adjacent shroud segments forming the deck portion of these shrouds and covering the axial blade rows.

Abstract: In a longitudinally split bottom dump barge which is opened and closed by rotation of the two longitudinal halves of the barge relative to each other about a longitudinal axis on the top side of the barge by hydraulic pistons, a mechanical device for locking the two halves of the barge together in their closed position includes a hook member, rotatably mounted on a shaft at the bottom inner side of one first barge half. When the hook is in its lowered locking position, it hooks about and rests upon a locking pin mounted at the bottom inner side of the other second barge half. An operating shaft linkage has one end pivotably attached to the hook and a threaded opposite end which engages with a hand wheel located on the top deck of the first barge half. The hand wheel is manually turned in one direction to raise the end of the hook member engaging the lock pin, to thus allow the split bottom of the barge to be opened.
Abstract: A flux-cored wire for electrogas arc welding includes a sheath of steel hoop made of material selected from a group of materials consisting of mild steel and stainless steel. A flux is provided internally within the coating. The flux contains CaF.sub.2, Fe--Si, SiO.sub.2, CaCO.sub.3, Cr and Mn. The flux may also contain Fe, Fe--Nb, Me--Mo and/or Me--Cu.
Abstract: A control pulse generator for the fuel injection system of internal combustion engines. The rpm-dependent trigger signal is applied simultaneously to two multivibrators one of which generates pulses whose length is determined by engine parameters while the other generates pulses of fixed length. A logical circuit selects the longer of these pulses so that the fuel control pulse will always have at least a minimum length.

Abstract: A fuel metering device for low fuel feed pressures is described which is adapted for use in an externally ignited internal combustion engine of the air/fuel mixture-compressing type having an air-intake suction tube, and which comprises (a) conduit means for conveying fuel to the suction tube of the engine, (b) throttle means of determinable cross-sectional throttle area disposed in the conduit means, (c) bypass duct means for bypassing the throttle means, and (d) control means for switching the bypass means into the fuel flow through the conduit means to bypass the aforesaid throttle means, thereby varying the ratio of the amounts of fuel and air in the mixture being formed in the suction pipe; the control means are responsive to characteristic engine data.
Abstract: The fuel preparation system of an internal combustion engine is provided with an air bypass line which delivers fresh air directly to the intake manifold downstream of the mixture generator, which may be a carburetor, for example. The air flow through the bypass is controlled, firstly, by a valve actuated in synchronism with an air flow meter in the main induction tube and, secondly, by a pressure controlled valve. The pressure controlled valve is connected to sources of different pressure by solenoid valves which are operated on the basis of engine information, for example the exhaust gas composition.
Abstract: A process and related apparatus for regulating the fuel-air mixture delivered to the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine by the admission of auxiliary air the quantity of which corresponds with the quantity of the aspirated fresh air forms the subject of this invention. An air bypass line is provided for bypassing a venturi constriction disposed in a suction tube upstream of a throttle flap valve. Associated with the air bypass line are a pressure regulating valve, a bypass throttle device and a control circuit including a pair of shut-off valves, or alternatively a three way valve, with an appropriate control for controlling the valves and accordingly the reduced pressure produced by the venturi constriction, which is communicated to the bypass throttle device, or the control pressure of the pressure regulating valve.

Abstract: A liquid-level gauging system comprises a capacitive probe arranged in a liquid storage tank and electrically connected into timing circuitry of a pulse generator to render the period of the pulse output produced by the generator directly proportional to the probe capacitance and thus proportional to the level of liquid in the tank. The generator pulse output is used to gate a counter receiving pulses from an oscillator whereby, for each cycle of the generator output, an accumulated count is produced in the counter which is proportional to the cycle period. This count is a proportionate measure of the liquid level. The count can be used as an address code for a read-only memory such that the memory output is the number stored in the memory at the address represented by the count value. Suitable programming of the memory can thus give any desired relation between count value and memory output and therefore any desired relation between memory output and tank liquid level.
Abstract: A fuel injection valve for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel storage compartment and a pressure chamber from which a reciprocating pump piston delivers fuel to the engine's fuel lines. The fuel conduit between the storage compartment and the pressure chamber can be closed off by an electromagnetic valve. To permit engine operation even when the electrical system is non-functional, the magnetic valve is of the normally open type, held open by a spring. In the energized state, the valve closes off the fuel conduit and its closure is aided by the fuel pressure gradient across the valve.
Abstract: The induction manifold of an internal combustion engine is provided with an air bypass conduit which has an air flow metering valve which is controlled by the same differential pressure experienced by the air responsive element of the carburetor in the induction tube. The pressure drop across this valve is further influenced by a second air metering valve acting as a pressure control valve, also located in the bypass line downstream of the first metering valve. A regulator responsive to engine conditions controls valves which cause selective admission of different pressures to the actuation chamber of the pressure control valve to regulate the amount of bypassed air.

Abstract: A fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines having a pump piston reciprocating in a cylinder to inject fuel from a working chamber into the engine cylinders and in which the termination of each injection is determined by an engine r.p.m. device which opens, or partially opens, a relief bore connected between the working chamber and a pump suction chamber. The outlets of the relief bore located on the surface of the pump piston are so formed so as to cooperate with the r.p.m. responsive device to match the injection requirements of the internal combustion engine. Several embodiments of the formed outlets are disclosed.

Abstract: A valve embodying combustion techniques for burners, especially the control technique for maintaining the fuel-to-air ratio at an optimum value over the entire range of low combustion to high combustion which ratio has close relation to nitrogen oxide emissions causing air pollution, to the consumption of fuel gas and to the safety and stability of combustion per se. The valve is installed mainly in the gas feed channel for a burner to freely regulate the rate of flow of gas to the burner accurately in conformity with the flow rate characteristics of air and to thereby provide an optimum fuel-to-air ratio. The valve is very useful in reducing nitrogen oxide emissions, saving energy and ensuring safety.
Abstract: A fuel injection system for externally ignited internal combustion engines including a device for injecting fuel into an air stream and an air measuring device comprising a valve having an airfoil portion. The air measuring valve is pivotably mounted within the suction tube of the engine, thereby exposing the air measuring valve to the air stream flowing through the suction tube. The air measuring valve is exposed to a combination of forces. One of the forces is an impedance induced force developed in accordance with the principle associated with impedance type valves and as a function of the pressure prevailing in front of and behind the air measuring valve when viewed in the direction of flow of the air stream in the suction tube. The other force is a lift force and is developed in accordance with the airfoil principle and as a result of an air flow about the airfoil portion of the air measuring valve.
Abstract: Load control for engine of vehicle for agricultural work with rotary working implement, for avoiding too much deviation of the working depth while preventing the engine from stopping under heavy overloading. The rotary working implement is automatically raised and lowered in accordance with the results of sensing the engine rotation and of the actual working depth. For prevention of the engine failure, the rotary working implement is unconditionally raised whenever engine rotation below a predetermined value is sensed.
Abstract: A method and a machine for continuous production of liquid-filled packages employs a series of transverse welding mechanisms for making seams across a hose-like material. Thus, pockets are formed into which liquid material is introduced somewhat in excess of the desired nominal amount. The over-filled pocket is then moved to a squeezing station where pressure is applied to force part of the liquid back out of the pocket into the next following pocket and where the pocket is shaped into the final package. When the desired final shape and volume are reached, the upper seam is completely welded, thus closing the package which is then severed from the hose.
Abstract: A portion of the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine is returned to the induction manifold through an exhaust gas recycling line. This recycle line contains one or more orifice plates to create a measurable pressure drop when gas is flowing. The gas flow through the recycle line may be interrupted in controlled manner by a valve, particularly a magnetically actuated valve. The pressure drop across the orifice plate or plates is sensed by pressure-responsive electrical switches which provide input signals for a logical circuit that energizes a signaling device to warn the operator of a malfunction in the exhaust gas recycling system.

Abstract: The air induction tube of an internal combustion engine has an air flow rate meter which is displaced pivotably by the air stream. Connected to the pivoting element is a pressure cell which provides the restoring force for the moving element. The pressure of this cell is determined by the pressure in an air bypass line and by the actuation of valves connected to a constant pressure source. The bypass line also contains a pressure control valve which controls the amount of fresh air fed to the engine and a flow valve whose displacement is coupled to the air flow rate meter.
