Abstract: The device comprises the combination of at least one printed support means with masking means provided with windows, said printed support means being associated with and movable relative to said masking means. The printed support means bears sets of printed symbols representing the card distributions in the deals of particular hands of two partners or of parts of these hands. The windows are adapted in size and relative position to permit the appearance therethrough of said sets of printed symbols and to enable the progress of the card game by said relative movement of said support means, for each particular deal envisaged, after having, if necessary, analyzed the successive bids of said hands and of those of the two imaginary opponents.
Abstract: An incinerator having a variable speed auger to continuously feed refuse into and through a combustion chamber and into a water filled ash receptacle. Preheated combustion air is supplied through tangential openings in and along the combustion chamber walls, with the hottest air supplied at the combustion chamber inlet. The auger has a water cooled hollow shaft and a heat resistant flight concentrically spaced away from the auger shaft by support members. The pitch of the auger flight gradually decreases from the inlet end to the discharge end of the combustion chamber. The exhaust gases pass through heat exchangers and dust collectors before being emitted from the incinerator. A portion of the exhaust gas is recirculated by a blower to an air curtain in the front of the inlet unit to preheat the entering refuse.
Abstract: In an exhaust gas purifying apparatus which includes a reactor in the exhaust line of an internal combustion engine there is provided a heater burner to which there is delivered an air-fuel mixture and which heats the reactor for rapidly bringing it to operating temperatures when the engine is started. In the air conduit through which combustion air for the air-fuel mixture is delivered to the burner there is provided a valve controlled in such a manner that the flow rate of combustion air remains constant and is thus independent of the said counterpressure at the heating burner and the output delivery of the air pump driving the combustion air.

Abstract: An open-end spinning device includes a spinning rotor having an axis of rotation, a bottom face and a lateral sliding face conically widening toward the bottom face and intended for receiving fibers which have been fed into the spinning rotor. A fiber collecting groove is located between the bottom face and the sliding face. A blast air opening having an axis is disposed on a stationary part of the spinning device adjacent to an inner chamber of the spinning rotor for feeding air to blow fibers and foreign bodies from the fiber collecting groove. A shallow, concave curve defines an inwardly curved portion of the bottom surface of the spinning rotor between its axis of rotation and the fiber collecting groove. The axis of the blast air opening is directed toward the inwardly curved surface of said bottom.

Abstract: An electromagnetically actuated fuel injection valve includes a coaxial assembly of a connection tube, a bushing, a housing extension and a nozzle body. All seals between adjacent faces and edges of these elements are age-resistant metal-to-metal seals. The seal between the housing extension and the nozzle body is formed by pressing the overlapping end of the housing extension over annular edges on the nozzle body. The remaining seals are welds or solder-joints.

Abstract: An apparatus for the detoxification of exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine having a fuel metering mechanism, such as a carburetor, which meters out fuel corresponding to the air quantity, is described. An air quantity measuring device is provided which controls the metering mechanism so as to achieve a slightly enriched fuel-air mixture. Thus, the air number (.lambda.) is initially maintained at less than 1, the air number 1 designating a stoichiometric fuel-air mixture. Secondary air is admitted via a secondary air pump, an oxygen sensor being disposed on the exhaust side, until such time an optimum of fuel-air mixture is reached. The secondary air is admitted into the suction tube of the internal combustion engine downstream of the air measuring device.

Abstract: A fuel metering system for an internal combustion engine meters out fuel in dependence on the pressure in a fuel supply container. This pressure is controlled by a valve or valves which provide communication with different regions of the induction tube of the engine. The control valves are electro-magnetic valves under the control of a suitably processed and amplified signal from an exhaust gas measuring probe which determines the concentration of oxygen.

Abstract: A fuel injection system for externally ignited internal combustion engines in which a fuel metering and distributing valve is controlled by an air sensing element disposed in the air suction tube of the engine and by structure which is adapted to alter the restoring force exerted on the air sensing element through the fuel metering and distributing valve. The noted structure includes a control pressure conduit, a pressure control valve connected to the control pressure conduit and a relief valve also connected to the control pressure conduit and connected to the fuel metering and distributing valve. The relief valve includes a sleeve valve and a throttle which is controlled by the sleeve valve. The throttle opens into a pressure chamber disposed on one side of a slide member of the fuel metering and distributing valve. This slide member exerts the restoring force applied to the air sensing element.
Abstract: A device for precluding improper operation of a stamping press including a control cylinder the piston of which is impinged on one side by a pressure medium and on the other side by a pressure medium having a variable constant pressure. Electrical switch elements are utilized to prevent the stamping operation from progressing unless preset conditions exist.
Abstract: An improved control installation for internal combustion engines having exhaust gas recycling is described. The installation includes a suction tube, a throttle flap valve mounted within the suction tube, an exhaust gas pipe, an exhaust gas recycling valve and a return line leading from the exhaust gas pipe to the recycling valve and from there back to the suction tube downstream of the throttle flap valve. The improvement comprises a bypass line which extends from the suction tube upstream of the throttle flap valve to the recycling valve and back to the suction tube downstream of the throttle flap valve. The air that passes through the bypass line serves to cool the recycling valve. In addition, the bypass line serves as a conduit for air to the engine during idling operation.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an indexing head designed to print on postal envelopes indexing marks translating information written on the envelopes so as to enable the same to be read by an automatic sorting machine.The indexing code comprises printing 20 marks with actinic ink in a line comprising 30 positions. The head comprises as many reciprocal elements as there are positions, each reciprocal element being displaced by an electromagnet associated therewith. The printing operation is effected by selectively exciting the electromagnets corresponding to positions where the marks are to be printed.The indexing head is designed for use in indexing apparatus preceding automatic sorting of mail.
Abstract: The honing tool in a centerless honing apparatus is held in an oscillating head and is pressed against the workpiece transported by rotating rollers. The region of contact between the honing tool and the workpiece is immersed in a flushing liquid which serves to dislodge and remove abraded material from the contact surface of the honing tool. An ultrasonic generator is located near the honing tool and its transducer portion extends into the flushing liquid. The ultrasonic vibrations are transmitted by the flushing liquid to the honing tool, imparting thereto ultrasonic oscillations in a direction transverse to the rotational axis of the workpiece. The liquid also transmits ultrasonic vibrations directly to the contact area and to the embedded abraded material, thereby loosening it and permitting entrainment by the flushing liquid.
Abstract: A fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine having integral action regulation for influencing the fuel-air mixture supplied to the engine includes an exhaust gas oxygen sensing probe, two regulating stages, and an electronic control unit all connected in circuit to provide a signal to the fuel injection valves directly or to an electromagnetic pressure control valve in the circuit of the fuel injection valves for varying the fuel quantity injected and consequently the fuel-air mixture to the engine.

Abstract: A method for dispersing a powder in a liquid entails the successive steps which consist in forming a liquid flow passage between a pouring point and an atomization station, in continuously feeding powder into the liquid flow passage at the pouring point so as to guide the powder to the atomization station within and together with its liquid envelope and in atomizing the liquid flow passage containing the powder at the atomization station.
Abstract: An externally ignited four cycle internal combustion engine equipped with an inlet valve and an outlet valve. A swirl (turbulence or vortex) chamber is provided within the cylinder head, the height of the swirl chamber being less than its maximum diameter. An outlet closable by the outlet valve is located in the upper portion of the swirl chamber. A channel-like recess, which creates a guide channel when the piston is in its top dead center position, terminates approximately tangentially in the swirl chamber. The channel-like recess may be formed in the cylinder head, in the top of the piston or partially in both of these members.
