Abstract: A system for feedback-free ABS control in hydraulic brakes for mobile units, motor vehicles, motorcycles, and the like, equipped with a pedal-actuated master brake cylinder with a hydraulic brake booster and at least one isolation or shutoff valve in the form of a 3/2-way magnetic valve, which in normal operation is supplied with pressure by the master brake cylinder booster and is also assigned a plunger-piston for performing an ABS control. A check valve is disposed in the connecting line between the isolation valve, the ABS magnetic valve and the plunger-piston, or in a common supply line from the dynamic circuit of the master brake cylinder to these three actuating elements, as additional protection for the isolation valve and to assure the required brake pressure, even in the case of a failure, to keep the chambers of the hydraulic isolation valve and the rear chamber of the plunger-piston under pressure and in this way arrest the pistons so that they cannot move during normal braking operation.
Abstract: A spinning reel has a reel body, a handle shaft rotatably supported to the reel body, a spool shaft supported to the reel body to be axially slidable thereto and for supporting a spool, a rotary frame rotatable with a rotation of the handle shaft thereby to wind up a fishing line about an outer periphery of the spool and a slide mechanism for causing the spool shaft to slide with a rotation of the handle shaft. The slide mechanism includes a slide element gear rotatable with the rotation of the handle shaft, the slide element gear having a pivot shaft positioned on a side of the rotary frame across the handle shaft, a portion of the gear element being included within the rotary frame, a slide element slidable back and forth along a guide portion to slide the spool shaft in reciprocating motion, and a cam mechanism for transducing the rotary motion of the slide element gear into the reciprocating motion of the slide element.
Abstract: The invention relates to an anti-skid apparatus operatively positioned between a master brake cylinder and wheel brakes of a vehicle brake system. The anti-skid apparatus protects the wheel brakes from locking. The apparatus includes a controllable master brake line valve, which is open in its basic position and during normal braking; only in anti-skid braking operation does it disconnect the outlet of the return pump from the master brake cylinder.
Abstract: A pressure regulator device which enables greater coaxiality tolerances in the individual parts, without impairing the ability to assemble the parts or impairing a necessary tight sealing. The pressure regulator valve is disposed in a guide opening of a fuel distributor line and a receiving opening of an outlet connection. The pressure regulator valve has a bottom part and an outlet neck. An annular neck groove is embodied on the outlet neck and an annular housing groove is embodied on the bottom part. A sealing ring is disposed in each groove. The annular neck groove is defined by an outer shoulder and an inner shoulder, which has a smaller diameter than the outer shoulder. In the same way, the annular housing groove is defined by an outer shoulder and an inner shoulder, which has a smaller diameter than the outer shoulder. The outer shoulders of each groove allow centering of the pressure regulator valve while the inner shoulders allow concentricity errors.
Abstract: A sign and process of making a sign which comprises applying vinyl graphics to a backside of a substrate by use of high pressure rollers laminating machine or squeegee and covering the back side of the substrate and graphics by a backing sheet. The graphics and backing sheet may be applied by a laminating machine or squeegee and secured in place by a self-adhesive. Applying the laminated film on the reverse side has a protection quality that a slik screened or spray painted face does not have since the vinyl protects the rear side of the face against scratching during installation of the face and/or transportation of the sign.
Abstract: To improve traction and roadability in motor vehicles, particularly trucks or buses, it is proposed that when a traction control means comes into play, suitable traction-promoting systems such as special chains or gravel spreaders are automatically activated, by triggering suitable adjusting cylinders for the traction-promoting systems simultaneously with the ASR valve.
Abstract: A rail bogie is provided with a truck having a platform and railroad wheels beneath it for riding on railroad tracks; a first fifth wheel being mounted on the platform. A draw-bar, also mounted on the platform, includes a vertical leg and a horizontal foot on which are provided a lift plate, a further fifth wheel on the lift plate and a lift mechanism capable of moving the lift plate vertically relative to a connection block located at the upper end of the leg. The bogie is for use in combination with a road vehicle provided, at its rear end, with a hooking block in contact with the vertical leg of the draw-bar; the hooking block being formed with a socket into which is received the connection block of the rail bogie for vertical displacement when the lift plate is moved by the aforesaid lift mechanism. Projecting from the lower end of the hooking block is a coupling king pin lockingly engaged in the fifth wheel of the lift plate.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring particulate matter in a flue gas or exhaust gas of a combustion process comprising means for transmitting a beam of light between an optical transmitter and an optical receiver. The light passes through two diametrically opposed light slits closed by transparent bodies in the wall of the tail pipe and crosses through a flow of exhaust gas carried in the tail pipe. The attenuation of intensity of the light beam is a measure of the particulate matter. When the measuring apparatus is used to measure a soot concentration in an exhaust gas of internal combustion engines of a vehicle, it is mounted directly on the tail pipe, and the transparent bodies are heated in the vicinity of the faces acted upon by the exhaust gas flow to a temperature above the soot burn-off temperature. As a result, adulteration of the measured value by soot deposits in the measurement path to the transparent bodies is prevented, and continuous operation of the measuring apparatus is assured.

Abstract: The regulator of this invention is used specifically to regulate the idling speed of an internal combustion engine and includes a servomotor, a throttle unit and a holder designed as separate units and are intended to be combined in an appropriate manner for a particular application. Thus, the throttle unit is provided with a throttle housing incorporating in a cylindrical housing part, a turning space for a throttle member which is connected to a flow channel via an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The flow channel is, for example, built into a wall of an air intake pipe of an internal combustion engine and intersects a receiving opening of this air intake line serving as the holder. The throttle unit is insertable in the receiving opening and is used to control the magnitude of the airflow.
Abstract: For reasons of technologically simple, economical manufacture, a coupler element for coupling an injection nozzle (11) to a connector neck (12), coaxial with it, on an injection line is embodied as a one-piece plastic clip (10), which comprises a C-shaped annular disk (16) and spring legs (17) protruding away from the annular disk (16) in the axial direction of the clip and having inwardly oriented detent protrusions (18). With a groove engagement region, the annular disk (16) engages a circumferential groove (15) in the injection nozzle (11), while after the coaxial insertion of the end of the injection nozzle (11) into the connector neck (12), the detent protrusions (18) snap into place behind a locking collar (14) on the connector neck (12) (FIG. 1).
Abstract: A bicycle pedal comprises a pedal body supported by a pedal shaft to be rotatable about an axis of the pedal shaft, and at least one clamp member attached to the pedal body for clamping a cleat fixed to a cyclist's shoe. The clamp member is displaced in a fore and aft direction from the pedal shaft to be movable between a cleat clamping position and a release position. The pedal body defines at least one guide surface located adjacent the axis of the pedal shaft with respect to the clamp member for guiding the cleat toward the clamp member.
Abstract: A foldable dome which comprises a set of bowed supports made up of a driving bowed support, an end bowed support and intermediate bowed supports, said bowed supports ending into levers projecting out of the planes thereof. These bows are supported, on each side of the dome, on bowed supports provided at the top with the pivot mechanism each of which comprises an axle, transverse said bowed supports, over which said levers on one side of said bowed supports are mounted so as to allow rocking of said bowed supports between a folded position, on one side of said axle, and an unfoldable position wherein said bowed supports are supported around said axle in the form of a dome. The axle dividing said levers of said divides and end bowed supports each into a driven section, on the bowed support side and a driving section on the side away from the bowed supports.
Abstract: An apparatus to control an internal combustion engine in vehicles, containing a set point value transducer which is adjustable by means of a drive lever, a control motor driving a throttle valve, and control electronics which use the output signals from the set point value transducer to generate a control signal for the control motor. In order to maintain emergency operation in the event of a failure of the electric controls, an emergency operation system directly transmits the drive lever or gas pedal position to the throttle valve. To insure the engagement of the emergency operation system in the event of problem on the one hand, and to prevent additional friction being exerted on the control motor during normal operation on the other, the emergency operation system contains a coupling whose one coupling element is firmly fixed to the throttle valve and whose other coupling element is permanently attached to the drive lever.
Abstract: In a known injection valve having a movable valve element and a valve seat face located in a nozzle body, a cup-shaped injection port insert is provided downstream of the valve seat face. In the novel injection valve, the object is to avoid warping of the injection port insert and to adapt the idle volume to requirements. To increase the rigidity of the injection port insert, the bottom of the injection port insert has a dishlike indentation, which is remote from the movable valve element, so that a collecting chamber is formed between the movable valve element and the bottom. The injection valve is particularly suitable for fuel injection systems in internal combustion engines.
Abstract: A method is proposed for improving the operating behavior of motor vehicles driven by an internal combustion engine and especially to reduce jerking or bucking. The jerking, caused by rapid changes in engine torque, is damped by adapting the torque of the engine to the increase in output of the drive train of the vehicle. To this end, the deflection of the engine relative to the motor body is detected and used for vaying the fuel quantity metered to the engine. A differentiating member interposed between the engine and the body acts upon the fuel quantity adjusting device of the fuel metering device.

Abstract: An injection timing adjuster for internal combustion engines, by which a mutual rotational position of a driven shaft relative to a drive shaft is variable as a function of operating characteristics. The adjuster includes two pairs of cams serving as adjusting mechanisms, the adjusting cams are connected by bolts to intermediate elements, which in turn each are coupled, by one coupling pin, to two each hydraulically actuatable adjusting pistons disposed parallel to one another on one side of the adjuster. The adjusting pistons are guided in a piston holder, which has two lateral limiting faces, which together with two walls offstanding from the intermediate elements form a sliding guide for the intermediate elements. As a result of an improved sliding guidance, the injection timing adjuster can be used for transmitting higher drive outputs than previously in prior art adjusters.
