Abstract: A thermal transfer printing apparatus includes an ink cassette having an ink supply roll and an ink take-up roll, and a thermal head for pressing ink paper, fed from the ink supply roll, against printing paper so as to transfer ink in the ink paper to the printing paper through heating. The ink paper subjected to the transfer is peeled from the printing paper, and then is taken up by the ink take-up roll. This apparatus further includes a generally V-shaped peel pawl provided on the thermal head, and an ink guide provided on the ink cassette. The ink paper subjected to the transfer is peeled from the printing paper by the peel pawl and the ink guide. The printing paper thus peeled is taken up by the ink take-up roll via the ink guide. With this construction, the angle of the peel pawl relative to the printing paper can be made close to 90.degree., thereby reducing a peel force and effecting the transfer satisfactorily.
Abstract: A toggle type mold clamping system is used for a vertical injection molding machine, including a toggle link mechanism. The toggle link mechanism has a pair of toggle rods (7A, 7B), a pair of toggle arms (9A, 9B) in the shape of a sideways V, and drive means (13A, 13B, 14, 15). Opposite ends of the toggle rods are pivotally coupled to an intermediate panel 2 and one end each of the toggle arms, respectively. At bends thereof, the toggle arms are pivotally coupled to a lower panel. The drive means is coupled to the lower ends of the toggle arms. The toggle arms are operated by the drive means to open and clamp molds. With this arrangement, the driving force can be effectively used to open and clamp the molds, thereby reducing the size of the drive means, and space in the lateral direction.

Abstract: A device for detecting the condition of the surface and adjacent edges of a road by means of electromagnetic radiation. A transmitter emits measuring beam pulses of electromagnetic radiation directed in a linear area of the road. Back scattered radiation from reflection of the measuring beam pulses by features of the road surface and adjacent areas are received and transformed into a time sequence signal. A signal processing and analysis unit analyzes the time sequence signal to identify features and surfaces of the road and their distance from the vehicle.

Abstract: A method utilizes components of an existing anti-lock brake system (ABS) in order thereby to achieve an automatically self-optimizing inter-axle brake-pressure distribution acting far below the wheel lock limit. For this purpose, the brake pressure and, hence, the brake-force distribution are regulated axle-specifically far below the wheel lock limit too. An immediate dynamic intervention is, on one hand, effected in the case of sufficiently large wheel-speed differences between the axles. On the other hand, an adaptive predetermination of correct brake-force distributions is made the basis for each current regulating intervention. Even before the occurrence of large speed differences, the brake-force distribution expedient in each case for these is here predictively determined, stored, and, if required, correspondingly adapted to current requirements, i.e. corrected, in the course of subsequent dynamic braking demands.

Abstract: The bottom structure of small and medium size tank containers includes a pair of longitudinal fork lift channels and a pair of tranverse fork lift channels extending perpendicularly of the longitudinal channels. The transverse channels are defined by gaps between portions of profile bars forming the longitudinal channels. The profile bar portions are equipped with bottom plates which have openings for engagement by locking members provided on the loading platforms of vehicles. Locking plates are further provided at the bottoms of end frames of the tank container, each locking plate having a plurality of further openings for engagement by locking members as commonly provided on road and railway vehicles for ISO containers. A portion of an upper transverse bar of each end frame is formed as a grappler arm pocket provided with an upper guide plate. An upper portion of the guide plate forms an eye reinforced by a transverse member for engagement by a crane hook.

Abstract: A cooling water expansion tank having a level-fixing device which prevents cooling water from running out when the filling pipe is opened after driving operation and when filling the expansion tank. The level-fixing device has a positive pressure valve which is located in the vent conduit and is closed during filling. The filling pipe is provided with an overflow edge which is at least at the same height as the cooling water level at maximum expansion height.
Abstract: A process manufacturing positive and negative fiber structure electrodes for open as well as gastight electrochemical current sources, particularly nickel-cadmium accumulators. After the filling of the calibrated plate with an active mass and the subsequent drying of the plate filled with a moist a mass, the plate is calibrated again by means of calibrating presses or calibrating rollers. The calibrating plates or rollers are cleaned to remove adhering or deposited active mass or other dirt by means of ductors or rotating brush rollers while being at the same time subjected to suction. Thus electrodes are created which have plane surfaces for cells for the highest standards with respect to the individual active components and the mounted stack in the given dimensions.

Abstract: A bulk acoustic signal processor for processing GHz range R.F. signals employs a transmitter array comprised of an apodized set of subdivided interdigital electrodes mounted on a bulk wave launching crystal, the apodization being defined by the shape of an aperture in a layer of dielectric material on the crystal, over which the electrodes extend into contact with the surface of crystal for stressing the crystal and launching an acoustic wave into the bulk on which the crystal is mounted. Because a respective subdivided set of interdigital electrode elements has an impedance on the order of 0.5 to 6 ohms, each set is driven by a dedicated, impedance-transforming GaAs FET source-follower amplifier. When driven by an R.F.
Abstract: For an opening roller of an open-end spinning arrangement, a coating is provided for the mounting made of needles or teeth and the circumferential surface of the roller, which coating consists of a metal carbide coating and a thin nickel layer applied over it.

Abstract: A delay part for lubricating oil is arranged in the power section of an internal-combustion engine adjacent to a or in an area bordering on the oil pan. The part prevents the immediate intake of foamed oil in that it has oil passages along its boundary but otherwise separates the spaces situated above and below the delay apparatus from one another. The oil reaches the strainer in a time-delayed manner and is therefore effectively degassed.
