  • Patent number: 5150126
Abstract: A transmitting and receiving part of a pulse Doppler radar, in which the transmitting oscillator, by frequency shifting, is at the same time used as a local (reception) oscillator, and the intermediate-frequency reference frequency is generated coherently with respect to the pulse repetition frequency. Since only one high-frequency oscillator is required, the quality of which does not have to meet very high requirements, a low-price pulse Doppler radar can be implemented.

  • Patent number: 5146752
Abstract: Pivotable guide blades are arranged in an exhaust gas turbocharger in front of the turbine wheel inlet for charge pressure control in, for example, an internal combustion engine. These guide blades are moved by an adjusting ring so that an adaptation of the charge pressure takes place to the exhaust gas which rises with the rotational speed of the engine. When the rotational speed is further increased, the exhaust gas blow-off takes place by way of an integrated blow-off device. The guide blades and the blow-off device are actuated by a single actuator.

  • Patent number: 5146806
Abstract: A rotatable and longitudinally shiftable piece in a motor vehicle gear wheel change box interacts with three abutting shift rails. The longitudinal displacement of one shift rail blocks the two other shift rails. A spring engages in all shift rails in a form-fitting and elastic manner and locks them with respect to one another and with respect to the gearbox in the center position and in the respective left or right shifting position.

  • Patent number: 5147170
Abstract: An apparatus and method for manipulating and transporting equipment such as electronic equipment racks is engageable with a rack in either its upright position or its horizontal position and is controllably positionable to rotate the engaged rack to a horizontal position for transport and vertical position for installation. The apparatus comprises a horizontal mainframe which is supported on casters and powered by a steerable pallet truck so as to be easily rollable and maneuverable. The mainframe supports a battery-powered drive unit coupled to a first piston manipulator, one end of which is pivotally attached to the mainframe and the other end of which is pivotally attached to a rotatable rack-support mast. The rack support mast unit contains a second piston manipulator one end of which is attached to the support mast and the other of which is attached to a translatable rack engagement subframe having an engagement footplate at one end of the rack support mast.

  • Patent number: 5146290
Abstract: A process and an apparatus determines the position of an object by triangtion. In order to determine the location of an object, two illumination light beams coming from different directions are aimed at a reflector attached to the object and the reflected beams are detected by a location-sensitive sensor. In order also to detect the rotation position of the object, the reflector is partially mirrored so that a part of the illumination light beams striking thereon pass through it. The laser beams passing through the retro-reflector are detected in a sensor plane, which is spaced at a distance from the center of the reflector.

  • Patent number: 5144881
Abstract: As a result of an appropriate displacement of the control member, a connection of a fluid unit can, for pressure relief, be connected to a line leading to a low-pressure reservoir or be isolated from this line and/or, for the exertion of pressure, connected to a connection of a pressure source. Should the control member jam and be incapable of following an appropriate actuating stroke of a servomotor into the pressure-relieving position, a safety relief valve is opened by means of the actuating stroke.

  • Patent number: 5144208
Abstract: A device for adjusting a nominal value of the dimension of an actuator, the longitudinal dimension of which can be changed by applying an external electromagnetic or electrostatic field, the magnitude of the external electromagnetic or electrostatic field being associated with the longitudinal dimension of the actuator, or soft-magnetic and highly magnetoelastic layer being connected to the actuator in such a manner that a change in length of the actuator produces a change in the mechanical stress in the layer. The change in mechanical stress in the layer produces a change in the value of an inductance, the mechanical stress in the layer being inferred from the magnitude of the inductance in sensor electronics and the longitudinal dimension of the actuator being inferred from the mechanical stress in the layer.

  • Patent number: 5143026
Abstract: An air induction system has pipe elbows swivellably arranged inside an air collector. As a function of the rotational speed and/or the load, in a first position, the intake path is formed by the intake manifolds and the pipe elbows to be relatively long. In a second position of the pipe elbows, the intake manifolds take air in directly from the air collector.

  • Patent number: 5144252
Abstract: A method and arrangement for measuring the resistance of a transducer which is coupled across a pair of conductors that are each coupled through separate sets of blocking diodes to a line card, these conductors possibly carrying a variable voltage. In the method and arrangement, a voltage of a first one of the conductors to ground is iteratively measured. This voltage from the first conductor to ground is tracked such that current flow is allowed through only one of the sets of blocking diodes. A value of the resistance of the transducer can then be accurately determined from the iteratively measured voltage values, since the variable voltage is taken into account by the tracking of the voltage from the first conductor to ground.
