Abstract: A quick change cutting link of a saw chain for cutting wood comprises a base member adapted to be pivotally connected to other links of the saw chain. The base member comprises a seat surface. A cutting member comprising a “V” notch releasably engages the seat surface of the base member. Attached to the “V” notch is a carbide tip, including a cutting edge. The carbide tip is accurately placed in the “V” notch by mating with a small piece of metal in the “V” notch. The carbide tip is then sinterbrazed to the cutting member. The cutting member and seat surface may also comprise an inverted L-shaped protrusion and the other includes an inverted L-shaped recess for receiving the inverted L-shaped protrusion. The inverted L-shaped protrusion and recess may be designed so as to form a wedge.
Abstract: A packaging device is provided for an item of three-dimensional shape comprising a non-porous deformable outer wrap characterized in being deformable in three dimensions to at least partially surround the item of three-dimensional shape therein. The device includes a mass of loose fill elements disposed within the outer wrap and can occupy a first volume in a first storage state sufficient to permit the packaging device to be stored. The device further provides that the mass of elements disposed within the outer wrap can occupy a second volume in a second use state to shape about the item of three dimensional shape and to permit the elements to deform within the outer wrap to accommodate the three-dimensional shape of the item. The outer wrap and the elements disposed within the outer wrap are biodegradable. The elements are adapted to change from the first storage state of unpopped corn kernels to the second use state of popped popcorn kernels.
Abstract: A fusion system fuses M rankings generated by M judges by (i) computing values of an aggregation function for items of the M rankings, the aggregation function including a sum of pairwise conjunctions of ranking values of different judges for an input item, and (ii) constructing an aggregation ranking based on the aggregation function values. In an illustrative application, the judges are different Internet search engines and the rankings are sets of search engine results generated for a query input to the search engines, and a consensus search result corresponding to the query is defined by the aggregation ranking. In another illustrative application, the judges are different soft classifiers, and the rankings are probability vectors generated for an input object by the different soft classifiers, and the input object is classified based on a consensus probability vector defined by the aggregation ranking.
Abstract: Provided are printing system scheduler methods and systems. Specifically, a shadow scheduler is disclosed which provides alternative modular printing system configurations to execute one or more print jobs, relative to a base modular printing system configuration. According to one exemplary method, a primary scheduler metric value and a shadow scheduler metric value are compared before executing the one or more print jobs.

Abstract: A method of comparing first and second objects in a context comprises: maximizing or minimizing a quantitative comparison of the first object and a mixture of the second object and the context respective to a weighting parameter that controls the mixture; and outputting a comparison value based on the value of the weighting parameter determined by the maximizing or minimizing.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for producing an olefin polymerization catalyst wherein a solution of a soluble magnesium complex containing an element of is Group 13 or 14 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC) is contacted with a halogen containing transition metal compound of Group 3 to 10 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC) to obtain a solid catalyst complex comprising as essential components Mg, said element of is Group 13 or 14 of the Periodic Table (IUPAC) and said transition metal compound.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides for an imaging machine having an imaging member including a method for maintaining a toner concentration. The method for maintaining the toner concentration comprises: determining a toner concentration (TC) measurement using a sensor; computing a state estimator output from the TC measurement and a pre-stored estimator gain matrix, Ke; computing an estimated target state from the state estimator and a pre-stored controller gain matrix, K; computing a duty cycle from the estimated target state, pixel count data, and pre-stored target decomposer output; and, updating the duty cycle by repeating the above method for the next TC cycle.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for determining a sequence of services linked to a conversation in which a user (12) takes part from a communication system (1), as well as the associated communication system (1). According to the invention, the method includes the following stages: retrieval (E2) of all the expressions used during the conversation; semantic analysis (E31) of the expressions retrieved; selection (E32) of a plurality of services from a list of services previously saved, based on at least said semantic analysis, with each service of said list able to be launched from said communication system (1); contextual analysis (E33) of the expressions used during the conversation; determination of a sequence of said services selected based on the contextual analysis; display (E4) on said communication system (1) of the sequence of services selected.
Abstract: A one-piece molded holder clip is provided for retaining an associated sunshade rod. The clip has a body in which a hook element is formed with the body and having a generally C-shaped conformation to receive the rod therein. A sunshade guide surface is formed in the body and extends substantially tangentially from the hook element. A fastener is formed with the body and extends from a rear surface of the sunshade guide surface. First and second legs are received over a bracket extending from the automotive vehicle frame and at least one of the legs includes a locking tab dimensioned for snap-fit engagement with an associated bracket. A cover is formed with the one-piece body and extends from the hook element, and covers the fastener to provide an aesthetically pleasing design.
Abstract: An image management method and system provides for storing, indexing, searching and/or retrieving image data. The content of an image collection is pre-processed to identify stable and repeatable keypoints for each image in the collection. Fingerprint information is computed from local groups of keypoints, and the resulting fingerprint information is stored in a compact fingerprint database. The computing of the fingerprint information is based on combinations of a subgroup of the strongest keypoints in an image, called anchor keypoints, in addition to a number of non-anchor keypoints. For each fingerprint in the compact fingerprint database, a sequence of candidate fingerprint combinations is generated and stored in a Fan Tree and/or hashtable and a corresponding fingerprint data structure. The sequence of fingerprint combinations allows several non-anchor keypoints to be missing, while still allowing the system and method to correctly detect fingerprints with high accuracy.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate validating electronic document conversion chain design in real time, as a designer edits a conversion chain that converts a document collection between formats. Waypoints are inserted into the document conversion chain by associating validation specifications with selected conversion components in the chain. AS the conversion chain is executed on a document collection, the validation specification is executed on all documents in the collection when a selected conversion component is executed. Validation results are returned to indicate to the designer which documents were successfully converted by the component and which were not. The designer can then modify the conversion chain, which is re-executed, and validation results are again presented to the designer for comparison to the pre-modification validation results. The designer can then approve or reject the modification(s) depending on whether document validation is improved thereby.
Abstract: An inflatable structure is augmented with transverse frames and bracing cables to make a truss-like structure.
