Abstract: A digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is provided for converting an (X+Y)-bit input word, which includes an X-bit MSB subword and a Y-bit LSB subword, into a current signal. The DAC has an X-bit voltage DAC section and a Y-bit current DAC section. The X-bit voltage DAC section generates an intermediate voltage corresponding to the X-bit MSB subword. The Y-bit current DAC section generates a reference current corresponding to the intermediate voltage and outputs the current signal derived by multiplying the reference current by a factor corresponding to the Y-bit LSB subword. In addition, a method for digital-to-analog conversion of an (X+Y)-bit input word into a current signal is also provided.

Abstract: In order to produce a plug-type connection between two circuit boards that are arranged parallel to one another, the invention proposes a coaxially designed connector that is simultaneously realized in the form of a hermaphroditic contact. This means that only one surface-mountable connector element is required which can be mated with a second connector element of identical design. The two collar-shaped connector elements (1) to be mated can be inserted into one another by means of notches (15, 17) that are provided in the collar (11) for this purpose. The connector element (1) to be manufactured by means of injection moulding and the MID-technique preferably features a square, collar-shaped base body (10) with an electrically conductive coating and a separate electric signaling contact (40) that is arranged in insulating fashion in a contact holder (30) within the base body (10) such that effective shielding is also realized for the transmission of high frequency signals.
Abstract: A drawing assistance system enhances a sketch drawn by a user in an electrical document on a computer system by collecting stroke data from one or more strokes of a sketch as a user draws the sketch. The stroke data includes time-based information and features of each stroke. The strokes are handled based on the time-based information, and analysed based on the strokes handled based on the time-based information. The sketch is enhanced based on results of the analysis.

The mounting surface includes corners that are not covered with said electrode pad so that a ceramic base of said ceramic package is exposed at said corners.
Abstract: A Magnus type wind power generator includes a horizontal rotary shaft for transmitting torque to a power generating mechanism. Rotary columns are disposed radially of the horizontal rotary shaft. Driving motors rotatively drive the respective rotary columns around the axes thereof. The relative action between rotation of each rotary column and wind produces Magnus lift, which rotates the horizontal rotary shaft so as to drive the power generating mechanism. An air flow device is installed for producing air flow on the outer peripheral surfaces of the rotary columns so as to increase the Magnus lift.
Abstract: The characteristics of an object are measured using an electrical characteristics measurement device in which a probe includes a signal terminal, a ground terminal, and a variable resistance element is connected via a coaxial cable to a measuring instrument. The calibration of the probe entails adjusting the resistance value of the variable resistance element, setting the impedance of the distal end vicinity of the probe essentially to zero, and establishing a match with the coaxial cable and measuring instrument. When the electrical characteristics of the object are measured, the resistance value of the variable resistance element is varied in accordance with the impedance created by the side of the circuit containing the measurement object as viewed from the contact between the object and the signal terminal and ground terminal, and the input impedance of the probe is set to a value that does not affect the operation of the object.
Abstract: Precise contact guidance of contact decks on a printed circuit board relative to the electric contacts in a card edge connector, is achieved using a pressing spring within the slot of the card edge connector in such a way that it mechanically deflects the mating region of the printed circuit board into a position in which a precisely fitted coincidence of the respective contacts is expected before the electric contacting takes place.
Abstract: In order to prevent the mismating of several daughterboards (2) that are combined into a plug-in unit (20) with corresponding board connectors (3) on a motherboard (1), it is proposed that the mating of the plug-in unit (20) is effectively prevented by means of a blocking block (10) that is inserted into an intermediate space between two board connectors (3) that are spaced apart from one another by a regular connector spacing and snapped into window-like recesses (4) of the board connectors (3).
Abstract: Defoaming equipment, and more particularly, removing, defoaming, and storing large amounts of foam after a Blast Mitigation or Decontamination Foam has been used in either an open area or in an contained area is described. An apparatus is provided for defoaming, comprising: a vacuum system, including a vacuum head for drawing the foam through a suction hose terminating in a nozzle, that feeds the foam into a holding tank that initially stores a quantity of defoaming agent, and a pump drawing the defoaming agent from the holding tank to at least one injector that is fitted on the vacuum-side of the vacuum system, whereby the defoaming agent is actively mixed with the collected foam, reducing the collected foam. The reduced foam and defoaming agent are recirculated through the pump and the nozzle, the suction hose, the vacuum system, the injector and holding tank are of chemical-resistant construction.
Abstract: An electro magnet having a nuclear core that emits radiation and is surrounded by a ceramic phosphor material having a structural defect such that the ceramic material within the ceramic phosphor material is used to shield and absorb radiation emitted by the nuclear core. The phosphors are excited by the radiation causing them to produce energy in the form of photons. Surrounding the ceramic phosphor material is a photovoltaic layer that transforms the photons into a flow of electrons to create an energy source in the form of a single sphere. An electromagnetic material sandwiches a plurality of spheres therebetween to harness the electron flow created by the photovoltaic layers of the spheres to create a super-electro magnet.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a LCD panel and a flexible wiring member coupled together by an anisotropic-conductive adhesive film (ACF). The ACF includes insulating resin and a plurality of conductive particles dispersed therein and each having an insulating film on a conductive body. The insulating film is broken by the thermal compression of the ACF during manufacture of the LCD device, thereby allowing terminals of the LCD panel and terminals of the flexible wiring member to be electrically coupled together.
Abstract: A manufacturing process of a nuclear cored battery having steps of processing a nuclear core, and creating a ceramic phosphor slurry material and combining them to form a homogenous mixture. The homogeneous mixture is then placed into a spray dryer in order to create a nuclear core surrounded by a temporary bound layer of mixed ceramics and then undergoes a high temperature manufacturing process wherein structural defects are added to create a light dissipating material. The light dissipating material is then coated with a photovoltaic material to create a spherical energy source that is in the form of a powder. This powder is then introduced into a P and N layer.
Abstract: A layered battery having a nuclear-cored energy source. The layered battery is created by spraying P and N layers on a plurality of nuclear-cored energy producing spheres that are in the form of a powder. The spraying of the P and N layers forms a sheet of material having a P layer and an N layer that is used as a battery. This sheet is then disposed within a casing having a first and second end. The P layer is connected to the first end of the case forming an anode and the N layer is connected to the second end of the case forming an electrode. Thus a disposable sized battery is formed that has a nuclear cored energy source.
