The electron beam penetrating through the first mask is deflected by a second pattern selection deflector, irradiates onto a second mask, and further irradiates on a semiconductor wafer provided on a wafer stage, as a result, a partial blank shot is executed. On the second mask, a cell projection exposure aperture to be drawn a center portion pattern of a cell array pattern, is provided and a cell projection exposure aperture for an excess pattern is not provided. On the first mask, a main aperture and an aperture to be irradiated an excess pattern portion having an area of 1/N of the main aperture to the semiconductor wafer, are provided, wherein N is an integer.
Abstract: A hermetic encapsulation package and a method of fabricating such package, wherein at least one organic electroluminescent (EL) element is formed on a support substrate. A sealing cap for accommodating the organic EL element is bonded to the support substrate with an ultraviolet curing resin to form a sealed space defined by the sealing cap and the support substrate. At least part of the sealing cap is formed of an elastic material of a Young's modulus of 70 GPa or less. The elastic portion of the sealing cap is reversibly deflected to provide a decrease or increase in the volume of the sealed space to reduce pressure changes inside the sealed space caused by changes in temperature, thereby alleviating problems of thermal shock.

Abstract: A method of forming an interconnect pattern in a semiconductor device includes the steps of pre-treating an interconnect layer, forming a photoresist pattern on the interconnect layer, heat treating the interconnect layer at a temperature between 280° C. and 400° C., and patterning the interconnect layer to form an interconnect pattern. The heat treatment re-distributes Cu particles segregated in the Al—Cu alloy layer during the O2-plasma pretreatment, preventing occurrence of a short-circuit failure.
Abstract: A fault detection circuit that includes a controllable switch coupling a power source to a load. Control circuitry is provided that determines if the switch is in the proper conduction state based on a switch control signal and a signal indicative of power delivered to the load. If the switch is determined as improperly closed (conducting), the control circuitry diverts energy delivered to the load through fuse circuitry, thereby blowing a fuse and decoupling the load from the power source. In preferred embodiments, logic circuitry determines the relative states of the control switch and the load and generates a control signal to divert energy away from the load and blow a fuse.
Abstract: For optical waveguide connections that can be freely laid for transmitting optical signals, there is proposed, in accordance with the dimensions specified by the MOST Co-operation of the automobile manufacturers, a releasably formed optical plug-in connector for an modular connector system that comprises two casing parts that can be inserted in one another. In this connection, there is inserted in a casing a mounting part that receives optical waveguides provided with ferrules, wherein the ferrules of the optical waveguides are provided with a reference surface.
A defined distance for an optimized signal transmission from the end face of the optical waveguides reaches by a stop of said reference surface when assembled with a reference surface of a counterplug.

Abstract: There is disclosed an optical information recording medium having phase-change recording films whose the transmittance can be made substantially uniform irrespective of the presence or absence of recording. There are also disclosed methods for recording, reading, and erasing information well at a high density on such a medium. Each of the phase-change recording films other than the top one has a phase-change recording film for recording and erasing information by a phase change caused by illumination of laser light. A transparent upper protective film is formed on the phase-change recording film to protect the phase-change recording film mainly against thermal deformation during recording and erasing of information. A transparent lower protective film is formed under the phase-change recording film to protect the phase-change recording film mainly against thermal deformation during recording and erasing of information.
Abstract: A device for mixing of particulate material comprises a conical mixing vessel having a vertical axis, which vessel narrows in a downward direction and in which vessel at least one vertical mixing shaft is rotatable. A number of radial elements project from the mixing shaft, and carry paddles at their distal ends, adjacent the sidewall of the vessel. The radial elements are long and thin, while the mixing paddles are relatively short and are symmetrical round the axis of the elements. Due to the rotating paddles and the conical shape of the vessel, the contents move spirally upwardly. The layers of material closest the wall end to have less spiral and more upwards movement, so that the intermediate layer is subjected to strong shearing forces that promotes mixing.
Abstract: A method for forming segmented through holes in a printed circuit board. The segmented through holes comprise a plurality of electrically conductive pathways disposed on the walls of a single through hole. The segmented through hole can be disposed in a two sided circuit board assembly or in a composite, multi layer circuit board assembly.
Abstract: Device for measuring the bottom of vehicles comprising an extendable rule that in one end is provided with a conical mandrel for contact with measuring holes or points and that the ruler in its other end is provided with a magnetic fastening means and a centering means for centering the fastening means relative to holes in the bottom. The centering means is a conical mandrel that against the force of a spring can be pushed into the fastening bracket.
Abstract: In a circulating type food and drink transport apparatus, since a first magnet and second magnets are disposed such that the same magnetic poles thereof confront each other, when a food and drink vessel is placed on a transport path, the first magnet faces the second magnets through the same polarities. Thus, the first magnet is subjected to the repulsive force of the second magnets, whereby the food and drink vessel tends to be stably located between adjacent magnets of the second magnets. When the second magnets are circulatingly traveled in a predetermined direction, the first magnet circulatingly travels at the same speed as the traveling speed of the second magnets because it tends to secure the above stable position.
Abstract: A thin-film magnetic head is constituted by forming a lower shielding layer, a read gap layer holding an MR magnetosensitive element, a common pole layer, and a write gap layer in order on an insulating substrate, forming a first flattening layer, a coil pattern layer, and a second flattening layer laminated in order on the write gap layer excluding the vicinity of an ABS plane, and forming an upper pole layer on the write gap layer and the second flattening layer nearby an ABS plane. A concave portion is formed on the common pole layer at a position separated from the ABS plane, the concave portion is filled with a nonmagnetic body, and the gap depth between the upper pole layer and the common pole layer is determined by the concave portion.
Abstract: Methods and networks are provided for enabling live video communication by performing image analysis and motion prediction outside the transmitter/encoder, i.e., either in the receiver or in a separate unit. In one aspect, a method for the transferring of moving pictures from a sending station to a receiving station comprises: obtaining, at the receiving station, a predicted picture frame through at least one motion compensation technique; comparing, at the receiving station, the predicted picture frame with the actual picture frame corresponding thereto; generating, at the receiving station, a deviation signal corresponding to the difference between the actual and the predicted frames; transmitting the deviation signal to the sending station; and respectively updating a data model contained in each of the sending and receiving stations, based on the deviation signal.
Abstract: A negative feed-back amplifier is provided in which a distortion of signals is reduced and a dynamic range is increased. An input signal is input to a base of a transistor and is output from a collector as a reversed signal and a non-reversed signal is output from an emitter. The reversed signal is input to a base of a transistor and is output through a resistor from an emitter of the transistor. The non-reversed signal is input through a condenser to a base of a transistor and is output from a collector in a reversed form. An output signal from the transistor is input to an emitter follower of a transistor at high input impedance and output at low output impedance and then attenuated by resistors and negative feed-back signal is produced. The negative feed-back signal is input through a resistor to a base of the transistor to be added to the input signal.
