  • Patent number: 6515921
Abstract: A semiconductor storage device such as a DRAM is configured to enable testing on defectiveness of memory cells by an existing memory tester, which locates defect cells to be replaced with redundancy cells by a redundancy circuit. Herein, a write circuit writes multiple-bit data to memory cells of a memory cell array under testing. Then, the multiple-bit data are read from the memory cell array by a read circuit and are compared with original one to make decisions of “pass” or “fail” on the memory cells by the memory tester. Specifically, the read circuit is configured by plural pairs of a data output circuit and a data compression circuit with respect to plural sets of prescribed data each of which consists of a prescribed number of bits corresponding to prescribed memory cells which are subjected to simultaneous replacement.

  • Patent number: 6504651
Abstract: A light modulator is comprised of two unit devices each using surface plasmon generated at the interface between thin metal films respectively formed on prisms and an electro-optical material, and a mirror. Both of the transmitted light due to absorption and re-radiation, and the reflected light arising from the unit devices are made into the outgoing light, the incident light on the next unit device, or the incident light on the mirror. Consequently, all light beams can be utilized as the final outgoing light beams with no loss of light. Further, the color of light can be spatially divided, and still further, it can also be temporally divided by changing the wavelength due to a voltage. As a result, the original light can be divided both temporally and spatially with almost no loss by combining two unit devices so configured as to re-radiate the absorbed light by surface plasmon using surface plasmon and a mirror, and thus utilizing both of the reflected light and the transmitted light.

  • Patent number: 6498327
Abstract: A method for transverse flux induction heating using a heating machine including an iron core, that essentially has a U-shape with an opening facing downwards. The legs lie in contact with downwards facing displaceable core jaws. These are so arranged that they are displaceable towards and from each other by means of pneumatic pistons. The object that is to be heated is placed between the core jaws. The core jaws are at the displacement guided by means of U-shaped rails and rolls or linear bearings. The displacement serves among other things to free the object that is to be heated or has been heated for transport into and out from the machine. When the right position has been reached the displacement is stopped and the two core jaws are locked by a pressurized bellow pressing the core jaws upwards against the legs of the U-shaped core.

  • Patent number: 6496068
Abstract: An amplifier circuit that includes an amplifier stage and an output stage, and local feedback between these stages to drive a biasing string associated with the amplifier stage using the potential at the output stage. In one embodiment, the local feedback line is coupled between the output stage and the biasing string to remove the loading effect of the biasing string on the amplifier stage. In another embodiment, the local feedback line is coupled between the switches of the amplifier stage and the switches of the output stage to bias the amplifier stage using the output stage.

  • Patent number: 6486951
Abstract: In an apparatus for evaluating an anisotropic thin film, an optical system generates a light beam having a predetermined diameter and polaraization state to project the light beam as incident light into a thin film sample corresponding to the anisotropic thin film. An analyzer is disposed at an optically down stream side of the thin film sample. At an optically down stream side of the analyzer, a two-dimensional photo-intensity detector is disposed to detect reflected light, obtained from the thin film sample, through the analyzer. The detector produces a light intensity distribution. On the basis of the light intensity distribution, an evaluating unit evaluates an inplane distribution of an optical anisotropy of the thin film sample.

  • Patent number: 6486716
Abstract: The invention provides a phase compensation circuit that can carry out phase compensation grater than the variable delay time range of a variable delay circuit without increasing more than necessary the delay time of the variable delay circuit even in the case that the phase of the reference signal and the phase of the feedback signal change because of changes in the operating environment due to fluctuations in the power source voltage and fluctuations in temperature. The phase compensation circuit that compensates the phase of a clock signal provides a plurality of variable delay circuits, a first phase comparator that compares the phase of a reference signal to the phase of a feedback signal, a second phase comparator that compares the phases of the plurality of variable delay circuits, a switching circuit that switches the outputs of the plurality of variable delay circuits, and a control circuit.

  • Patent number: 6482299
Abstract: Polymer microgel particles dispersed in an aqueous medium. PEDOT-PSS complex, with excess fixed negative charge and dispersed in aqueous media are crosslinked. Because of the network structure and due to the gel nature of the particles used as its building block, provides the prepared gel material with excellent access of the electrolyte solution to the polymer chains. The electrical connectivity of the polymer chains is further improved by eletropolymerization of another conducting polymer, such as polypyrrole (PPy), polyaniline (PAni), using the polymer gel as the template.
