Abstract: A tree stake stabilizer for maintaining rigid and parallel a pair of commercial tree stakes includes a pair of stake-grasping tubular collars interconnected by an adjustable length bar that is arcuate to form a horizontal offset to clear a growing tree.
Abstract: Apparatus for firmly and quickly mounting an ornamental wheel cover on a bus or truck wheel having handholds and exposed lug nuts by applying a mounting ring that overlies the wheel and has a portion that fits through at least two handholds and can be rotated in a bayonet-type connection to grasp the wheel. A wheel cover with lug nut clearance holes then may be firmly secured with a quarter-turn fastener to the mounting ring which is locked against rotation by the wheel cover hole engagement with the lug nuts.
Abstract: Ornamental lug nut covers, protecting the a vehicle lug nut and threads are formed with a outwardly extending flanges with edges folded over to capture the rims of retainer rings having inward facing tabs that butt and lock against the surfaces of lug nuts. The flange may be used to secure vehicle wheel covers having oversize mounting holes that can fit around the outside of the nut so that only the flange and not the lug nut secures the wheel cover.
Abstract: A very wide band beam splitter for operation in the range between deep ultraviolet of 190 nanometers and into infrared is comprised of uncoated transparent material only 0.10 to 0.15 mm. in thickness.
Abstract: A cake divider having a plurality of blades evenly spaced around a central member in a radial pattern for cutting equal sized wedges of cake. The central member may be cylindrical with a cap that may replaced with a large diameter plate to serve as a platform for a candle tray, muxic box, etc.
Abstract: To prevent deterioration of the flux coatings, welding rods are shipped by the manufacturer in hermetically sealed, containers that are usually destroyed when opened. The invention is for a reusable, sealable end cover, with hinged lid that is attachable to an opened container and permits continued use of the container without need to first remove the rods.
Abstract: A warning device for indicating undesired rotation of a threaded nut on a non-rotatable threaded shaft includes a tight fitting shell for covering the nut and a manually rotatable highly visible indicator on the end of the shell to be adjusted to a predetermined initial alignment. Any torque change caused by nut rotation will therefore rotate the indicator from its predetermined alignment.
Abstract: A gate latch, using neither gravity nor springs, is forceably opened and closed from either side of the gate by a handled lever that passes between the gate and gate post an into an arcuate cam slot. When the lever is lifted, it forces open the latch to eject a gate pin and, when lowered, forces the latch to close on the gate pin.
Abstract: A sprinkler flow control fixture for insertion between a water main and a sprinkler head contains a solid wall separating the inlet side from the outlet side with a passage therethrough calibrated to permit a flow rate of about 130% the normal flow of the sprinkler head so that removal of the head will not result in excessive water loss and drop in water main pressure.
Abstract: Full pages of books may be photocopied without damage to the book bindings by placing the open book on a wedge of fiber optics perpendicularly aligned to the copier platen to optically couple the photocopier to the book pages.
Abstract: A pneumatically operated metering pump having in a single cylinder, a driven piston and a slave piston that operates as a sliding valve for admitting fluid into the pump and drawing it into the cylinder between the two pistons so the next downward stroke of the master piston will force the fluid from the discharge port.
